  1. Fair comment- and as Trump has 34 felony convictions he cannot deny it- although of course he will
  2. Well the photos that I have seen suggest that they are not the best examples of British intelligence
  3. I agree- especially as they are highly trained and armed
  4. This sad saga shows the consequences of a bad combination of greed and gullibility exploited by a clever con man
  5. sadly it is true I am a lawyer- but despite that I am also human - I always was inspired by the foreword to the classic To kill a Mockingbird" that states "Even lawyers were children- I suppose"
  6. I agree totally I had issues with my visa and my Bangkok Bank account simultaneously - I instructed the agent in Pattaya who had organised my visa rorignally All issues were resolved in less than 2 hours - and I am sure if I had tried to do it myself- with no Thai language skills - I would have had a nightmare
  7. Wise words- discretion and keeping a low profile makes a lot of sense really
  8. I agree- and surely it would not be too difficult to ban the offenders from ever returning to Thailand
  9. Yes but remember this is Thailand- and life at times is very different here
  10. I agree if one feels strongly then simply leave. A long time ago I was charged a crazy amount for a head gasket for a car I owned- just because it was an expensive car and obviously the garage was adding more as it felt I could afford it I paid as I had to- then sold the car the next week and later told the garage why they would never see another penny from me ever again- they had been working on my car for years- they were apologetic - but of course too late
  11. Surrounded by many armed police- and thus with no real chance of escape- I have to say I think not the best career move he has made of late
  12. I agree-and there are many different groups in the area- all armed and dangerous- I certainly would not want to fly in that airspace at all
  13. Reminded of the reason why there was a change in dental practice invoked by the General Dental Council some years ago A lady went to have her wisdom teeth removed. The dentist gave her a very powerful sedative She later confirmed to the police she slept through the whole procedure When she got o home she found her underwear was on inside out and back to front It transpired she had been raped!
  14. How skilled a person is in martial arts is irrelevant IMHO. Some years ago I acted for a family where the husband was a 4th Dan in Karate He owned a small corner shop in London He tried to stop a small school boy stealing as I recall a bar of chocolate Sadly he died when stabbed by the 13 year old school boy who had a sharpened screw driver in his pocket As another poster said - if possible best to walk or run away
  15. I agree with this post. I hope a fair market price can be found as the suppliers need to be able to earn a fair living
  16. I agree entirely- certainly in English Law any such response needs to be reasonable and proportionate. There was a case a long time ago where a man heard 2 youngsters who he saw were trying to break in to his car on his drie One ran away - the other was not so lucky and the man broke the youngsters legs and battered him severely. Not surprisingly his Defence of protecting his property was thrown out and he was convicted of Assault and GBH
  17. My thoughts entirely - a member of the NACC apparently being corrupt comes as no surprise as TIT Upon reflection I would expect members of the NACC to be approached with bribes all the time in order that naughty people can obtain approval and "a clean bill of health" from the NACC Crazy but then again the truth is TIT
  18. I agree and the more volatile Trump is with his tariffs the more uncertain the markets are- and we all know the markets do not like volatility and uncertainty
  19. I agree- I hope the politicians do not try to twist the narrative to justify more destruction on what is already a very fragile border Thoughts of course to the young man whose life has been irrevocably changed and I hope he survives and recovers
  20. So cynical and sadly so accurate - I am afraid the 2 words honest and politicians do not sit well with each other
  21. You are of course correct- but as I recall from days of history lessons from long ago I think lawyers have always been less than popular
  22. I wonder how all of Thailand will be in 10years time. So many challenges heading Thailand's way and I am not hopeful that the government will do much about them
  23. My thought as well- but the whole story about the robbery involving a possible insider just does not add up- something very dubious is going on here- I do not think it was simply 3 thieves striking randomly and happened upon a house with 2 million baht in cash therein!
  24. My initial reaction too- precious hours lost when evidence will no doubt dissipate as every hour passes
  25. Very true- woke left policies of appeasement never work out for the good of everyone - and do not get me started on Clegg and the laws he changed with effect from April 1st 2013
