The War against America Starts in Minnesota
In the past several weeks, Trump has called Omar a "fake sleazebag," and called for her to be thrown out of the U.S. In a phone interview Tuesday evening with ABC News' Senior Political Correspondent Rachel Scott, Trump said he hadn't seen video of the incident and without providing evidence accused Omar of staging the attack. "I don't think about her. I think she's a fraud," Trump said. "She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her." https://abc7ny.com/post/man-arrested-attack-ilhan-omar-has-criminal-history-made-pro-trump-posts/18493763/

How much did your health insurance premium go up this year?
Kidney disease is a long term thing and really cannot be treated except with some medication up until dialysis is required. And most kidney disease is a by [product of diabetes. And here's the kind of inside the office track that the insurers must use when running around trying to deny a claim:

I checked with Gemini about no pre-existing conditions excluded and no policy increases (except for claims). They said: No way. Fingers crossed.

Top White House aide Stephen Miller acknowledges possible breach of protocol before Alex Pretti’s shooting Updated Jan 28, 2026, 6:53 AM ET -- Top White House aide Stephen Miller said Tuesday that officials were evaluating why the Customs and Border Protection team in Minneapolis “may not have been following” proper protocol before the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti — a remarkable acknowledgment of possible wrongdoing from one of the Trump administration’s most influential and hardline operators on immigration enforcement. In a statement to CNN, Miller said the White House had “provided clear guidance to DHS that the extra personnel that had been sent to Minnesota for force protection should be used for conducting fugitive operations to create a physical barrier between the arrest teams and the disruptors.” “We are evaluating why the CBP team may not have been following that protocol,” he said. https://edition.cnn.com/2026/01/27/politics/stephen-miller-alex-pretti-trump

The articles of impeachment are set to be voted on in Minnesota’s House when the session resumes on Feb. 17. Republicans hold a narrow 67-65 majority over Democrats in the Minnesota House while Democrats hold a slimmer 34-33 edge over Republicans in the state Senate. NB 2/3 vote in Senate needed to convict https://nypost.com/2026/01/24/us-news/articles-of-impeachment-filed-against-cartel-boss-tim-walz-could-expand-to-other-state-officials/

As per AI Gemini, the Pretti gun was never fired at all: The Gun Was Recovered Undischarged: A government report sent to Congress on January 27, 2026, confirmed that a Border Patrol agent took possession of Pretti’s firearm during the struggle and secured it in a government vehicle. There is no evidence in the report or in video footage that the weapon was ever discharged.

OK. But I remember people posting TrustPilot WrL complaints on here that they were denied claim because of some heretofore unknown pre-existing condition .

How much did your health insurance premium go up this year?
I asked AI Gemini if: the only way for health insurance companies to make money is with lots of exclusions and high premiums Actually, health insurance companies have several levers beyond just premiums and exclusions. While premiums are the primary revenue source, their profitability relies on a more complex financial model: The "Float" (Investment Income): Insurers collect premiums upfront and pay claims later. During this gap, they invest that cash in stocks, bonds, and real estate to generate additional profit. For some large firms, investment income is more consistent than profit from actual insurance operations. Operational Efficiency: Companies focus on lowering their "expense ratio"—the cost of administration, marketing, and processing claims. Reducing these overhead costs directly pads the bottom line.

AS you say, life insurance companies are unique for investing premiums. But in Thailand per OIC 70-80% of private health insurance policies are life insurance riders. And while maybe not a central role as you state, but all insurers profit to some extent on the ability to invest reserves.

I was told years ago, by life insurance company interests, that they only try to break even on premiums and claims. They make their money on the investment of their reserves.

Another execution caught on video
According to Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino, the federal agents involved in the shooting were conducting an operation to detain an undocumented immigrant with a "significant criminal history". (Jose Huerta-Chuma) Minnesota court and the Minnesota Department of Corrections records contradicted Bovino's claim: no person of the name given by Bovino had any criminal history in Minnesota and only had misdemeanor-level traffic offenses from more than a decade previously. A witness in a doughnut shop near the location of the incident told news outlets that a man entered the shop and the door was locked, denying federal agents entry. This reportedly caused federal agents to call for backup and become aggressive toward observers, including Pretti. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Alex_Pretti

How much have you wasted/saved with health insurance?
In USofA I was always covered by group policies. In Thailand across 3 different companies and 20 years, I am in the near break-even range following 3 inpatient claims. As noted prior, since I have a monthly income, insurance premiums are manageable. I would not, as many claim on here, find it easy coming up with a big lump sum amount other than via credit card.

DHS investigating whether Alex Pretti’s gun accidentally fired — and sparked deadly Minneapolis shooting: sources NY Post Updated Jan. 26, 2026, 5:53 p.m. ET MINNEAPOLIS — The Department of Homeland Security is investigating whether an errant shot from Alex Pretti’s handgun — after it was taken off of him — caused Border Patrol agents to think they were being fired on, The Post has learned. As a result of the accidental discharge, which happened while the gun was in a Border agent’s hand, other officers may have believed their lives were in danger — resulting in the split-second decision to open fire on Pretti, killing him, multiple sources familiar with the investigation said. The explanation is a shift from initial claims by DHS officials, who at first said Pretti was brandishing the Sig Sauer P320 pistol, which he was legally allowed to carry. https://nypost.com/2026/01/26/us-news/dhs-investigating-whether-alex-prettis-gun-accidentally-fired-and-sparked-deadly-minneapolis-shooting-sources/

Records undercut ICE claims that MN jails, prisons release 'worst of the worst' MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Trump Administration has repeatedly blamed county and state officials in Minnesota for releasing violent criminals from jail or prison instead of handing them over to ICE for deportation. But many of the detainees highlighted by ICE haven’t been behind bars in Minnesota for several years or haven’t served any time at all in the state, according to court records reviewed by the FOX 9 Investigators. The records undercut DHS claims that ICE agents are having to pick up people recently cut loose by county jails. https://www.fox9.com/news/ice-blames-jails-releasing-worst-worst-many-havent-been-behind-bars-years
