  1. Why not try this alternative?

    http://www.airportpattayabus.com

    Goes every hour.

Only disadvantage under the current chaotic road construction:

it goes up Sukhumvit from Thephrasit to the motorway ramp which cost me 25 mins last time in seemingly "light traffic".

Yes a good alternative if Bell does'nt suit---only drawback it can take about 3hrs--as it go's the back route thru Laem Chabang Chonburi-Si Racha etc--Bell takes the Motorway---also no pick up at hotel

  2. A speed limiter is perhaps a first step in the right direction with a maximum of 90km/hrs, also for busses and trucks.

A tachograph with strict control will be a second step.

I used to drive a truck with a speed limiter fitted----can be VERY deadly when overtaking--and easily be caught in " no man's land " if the vehicle on the inside decides he doe'snt want to be overtaken---and you are stuck out there with rapidly aproaching oncoming traffic--soon learnt my lesson -never bothered to overtake unless on a motorway going downhill !!

  3. Why is a flight Lt. driving a tourist van?

Flight Lieutenant Arthit Chalerm-at, the driver, and Au Wing read again

Two of the bodies were identified as Flight Lieutenant Arthit Chalerm-at, the driver, and Au Wing Yan, 32, a female Hong Kong tourist. Two other bodies could not be identified -------------

    As I see it----as written--the Flt Lt was driving--otherwise the " Driver " would make 5 killed -not 4 ??

  4. four bodies were trapped in the van. Two of the bodies were identified as Flight Lieutenant Arthit Chalerm-at, the driver, and Au Wing Yan, 32, a female Hong Kong tourist. Two other bodies could not be identified because they were not carrying any identification card. One of them was a woman, who appeared about 50 years old and another a man about 30 years old.

Was this a Hired van ?? or a reporting mistake ?

    Tragic-- R.I.P

  5. No, there is not.

There are travel agents that can book you though, or will provide a service for a fee.

    Thanks stevenl---

I wanted to use Visa card online to get an airfare for a friend to travel to Phuket, to be picked up at Swampy--as I wont be travelling as well ,there will be a problem as the card holder must be a traveller--

Have been advised by Bangkok Airways it can be done at their office in cash --not sure if an Agency will do the trick ??

  6. Buy return tickets on gold credit card, covered.

nope, your only covered if anything happens to and from the airport only. At least it was in my case when I made a phone call, it freaked me out I was traveling for years thinking I was fully covered

Not everyone can qualify for a Gold Card --if only it was that easy--

Not good enough anyway if only to & from Airport

My one seems pretty good then overall https://www.asb.co.nz/story_images/247_561001107121190Da_s5927.PDF

I just cant believe Prince Andrew paid for underage sex ....That family have never paid for anything in their life...............coffee1.gif

I think Queenie has paid the ultimate price--a lifetime of playing by the rules/protocols/ -- boring dinners/speeches etc.etc, etc and sorting out the wayward family members - that goes way back to when Maggie started " Playing Up" in her youth -- . wai2.gif

  8. Last time in August--I wanted a 200 carton for a friend in N.Z--King Power lady said " cannot Australia " only 50 allowed--which is correct-

when she understood that I was going to N.Z direct -it was o.k. as 200 was the allowance--I say was - because N.Z--like the sheep- has now followed suit. blink.png

So full marks to the King Power lady--apart from a little geography hic-up wink.png
