To the OP, please define good Thai food.
Do you mean Northern, Southern, or Issan food?Or would you rather have farang poncified central food?
Bear in mind the gaeng kiaw wan you have at some place on Suk will bear no resemblence to whats sold in the foodcourt of Big C or your local market.

You are correct, seems to be a poorly designed site.
After following the 4 steps above, take the following route, worked for me.
Good luck

I'd love to read contributions from bar girls on the topic: You can take the man out of the bar but can you take the bar out of the man? Would be fascinating reading.

She's a prostitute.
As in "She's a waitress" or "She's a bank manager", or "She's a nuclear scientist"
We all have jobs to put bread on the table and feed our families. I don't think mine makes me an intrinsically dishonest person, despite what my customers might say
SC
I can empathise with these Bargirls, I spend all day working with prix.
If these girls were such a great catch, why aint the Thai men snapping them up before they ever leave the village.
I dont see no decent Thai guys from a decent family snapping them up.
These girls are where they are for one reason and one reason only, no Thai guy wants them, they all come with baggage.
Never mind the latest bunch of freshies straight from Farangsville will snap them up.
The knights in shining armour who rode into town on their white buffalo are nothing but cannon fodder.
One of the best quotes I ever read on here was from some mug who had been taken to the cleaners.
I quote, "I only wanted to rescue her"

Next time you come here get yourself a Bang Kaew, the locals are shoit scared of them.

I know people who have got into exporting goods out of Thailand and selling them on which has supported them financially. Things are much cheaper in Thailand which sell for a lot more in England. Or team up with a Thai person and open a business of some sort. However, have your wits about you and don't be another statistic of those who have lost everything after handing their money over to a Thai wife and their so called 'brother' or whatever - Happens far too often!
The laws have changed since I lived in Thailand I think - Are border runs not allowed now?
Wow, a blast from the past, I remember you.
I hope you have turned your life around, you were a top poster.
Still got your red hair?
The border runners are a thing of the past, and contary to popular beliefs held here, Thailand didnt implode when they left.

^^^^ au contrire mon ami, I stand by my original post and will re quantify it, all I saw was old men with ugly women.
Here we are 7 years later and nothing has changed, if anything its got worse and uglier, thankfully I wasnt there for the women.
How about searching your archives for where I said I came to, meet farangs visiting, play golf, eat farang food etc etc, listen to live music.
Added since last quoted post by JS, the mrs and her friends lub Centran.

Reading some of the replies I wonder how many have actually visited Pattaya never mind Thailand.
I was there the other week and had a great time, the place rawked, cocktails on the rooftop of The Hilton (for peanuts, they even threw in some free peanuts)
Off to live music bars, beers for 50/60baht, hassle free service, wasnt pestered by Cola Hounds.
Golf, cheap as chips, farang food in bucket loads.
Pattaya moves onwards and upwards.

I was on a job once, Thai lady rocked up at 10 in the morning, where is Somchai?
No answer.
Mobile pulled out, first question, Somchai where are you, second question, are you drunk?
Somchai was in Korat, Thai lady, that will take about 4 hours driving, I will give you 6 hours, see you at such and such address at 4 pm today.
Somchai showed up at 3:30, and was made to wait, two messages were sent.
Dont bite the hand that feeds, and know your place in the Thai pecking order.
-
I can only imagine the author is some TEFLr type, or lower down the pecking order of the Thai totem pole than others.
Try taking that attitude to the CBD in Bkk, try dealing with companies such as ING, UOB, Aberdeeen Asset management.
I can only assume he doesnt hold a Premier Account at HSBC.
Load of tosh.

If the OP is talking only to his mrs with no one else in earshot he could use this term,
หูเบา
Usually preceded with ee, meaning soft ear, or someone who is gullible, in this case his mrs.
Be very careful about using these expressions, it all depends on context and who you are talking to.
DO NOT use with strangers.
-
The question the OP asked is rendered meaning less, the OP dont speak Thai, and even if he speaks a little, his mrs will reply using language he cant understand, or will ignore him.
He doesnt need an exact translation for thats bullshit, kee kwai.
He is trying to convey a feeling of dont believe.
ขี้โกง
โกหก
อย่าเชื่อ
are all phrases he could use, if he knows how to construct a sentence in Thai.
Not mentioned the difference between Thai taught in the schools, and the colloquial language used every day in the sois.
It doesnt matter whether its a verb or a noun, whats understood is between the person saying it and the person on the recieving end of the conversation.
Many times I have listened to Thais talking and although I undertsand what they are saying, I dont understand the context of the converstion.
ไปไม่ a question as simple as that, I have no idea of the tense, the people having the conversation do in context with what they are discussing.

Blimey rgs, i thought you had gone back to Blighty or found fresh pastures, as indeed it seems you have..Good luck wherever you go and don't forget dear old Thailand, you can check out but you can never leave. Miss your abuse on the thread, DB keeps it going with new faces dropping in now and again.
DB, my sister used to live in Jenner road Guildford and a woman who has meant a lot to me ever since 1974 came from there. It's too middle class for my liking, a bit like Bath,.I prefer Bristol with its varied architecture and even more varied ethnic mix.
A song for rgs
Cheers matey but no thank you, cant be doing with that crap, just to piss you off, heres another I cant be doing with, but it serves its purpose.
Just to let you know the life of a road warrior aint all it is cracked up to be, airport hotels and business class soon gets boring. Never mind the idiots I have to deal with.
Need to get myself a fishing rod kick back and take it easy

How much is the girl and her family contributring?
Its not uncommon in Thai/Thai weddings for the bride and groom to set up a joint bank account that each contribute to to pay the wedding costs.
To answer you question 150,000 baht tops, whats to happen to the white envelopes, who will be collecting them?

Do you not have one channel that shows all live games and one 3pm with Keys, Gray and guests (and thus all in English)?
In the sandpit, it's BeIn 11.If not I would start a campaign to begin badgering the True buffoons.
Yes, its BeIn ch 1, or here in Thailand ch 676.
Last week I watched Man Utd vs Leicester in English, first 20 minutes were in Thai, Somchai must have flipped a switch.
Followed by Liverpool vs Hull in English.
Finally followed by Arsenal vs Chelsea in English.
At the time the second match was on, 3 pm kick off, I switched channels and watched Bein 2, 3 and 4, or here in Thailand, channels, 677, 678 and 679, all in English.
This is from a True Watcher in Bkk.
