  1. I tried it and think its great! Nice smooth taste, and claims to be all natural which is good seeing as most Thai beers have added "stimulants". I am currently looking into carrying it at the bar and prices will be the same as Heineken.

  2. Drum roll please ..............................

HERE is the answer to everyones problems and its too easy you will kick yourself for not doing it earlier.

I have been using the same letter for 2 years now.

There was a new invention a few years back called a colour photocopier. When I first had to part with something like 1500 Baht I was furious and even more furious when I asked for another copy and they wanted another 1500.00.

Screw you I said and went to the first copy place, put a piece of white card over the date and made 10 copies.

It looks original, it smells original and best of all, when I got the original I got a few consulate business cards and I always attach one of them.

Money saved to date .... alot, thousands in fact

    Times busted ... none

Joy at screwing over the consulate .... immense

And how to you photograph the notary inprint?

  3. This Monday's CH3 (June 9) will be at the football field off of canal road.

  4. Do you have a fence or a wall on your property? Just throw it over onto the other side. If you can no longer see it it is not there anymore..... :o

This really is a good thread. I have also wondered the same and am not about to dump it at the end of a dirt road.

  5. Today's CUMH3 (03/06) Is on the road leading to Huey Tung Tao Lake. Take the left off Canal road heading towards the lake and look for signs on the right at the bend before the main gate.

Run @ 5:30 Pick up from the Number One Bar at 4:30

  6. The hashers of Chiang Mai would just like to thank the good samaritan who has been going around and picking up our hash paper on run days. I would just like to inform him that he forgot to pick up many tons of plastic, glass and other refuse along the way. He has been gracious enough to take time away from his busy schedule to write letters to city life magazine about his good deeds and to make good on his word to beautify the wonderful city of Chiang Mai.

We had a great run today. The hare was kind enough to re-set the run with fresh bio-degradable paper made from trees. I didn't mind as I needed the exercise.

Although, I am slightly ashamed to inform our anonymous philanthropist that we did leave a bit more of this paper along the way. If you have time in the next couple of days maybe you could pick it up all over again. This must be done quickly as the paper degrades after a short period of time. Animals, insects and the weather all play a role in this. So please hurry and be careful not to trip over all the other non biodegradable rubbish along the way.

If you can make it to the next run on Tuesday I would love to buy you a drink at the number one bar before hand. I am not anonymous and my hash name is f_a_g, my real name is Bryan. I really do hope to see you there.

  7. Today's CUMH3 (27-05) Is at the Boy Scout Camp. Take Huey Keaw road the the intersection with canal road. Take a right at the lights follow canal road around the bend and look for HHH signs on the left.

Run @ 5:30 Pick up from the Number One Bar at 4:30

  8. A friend of mine just went to get a residency certificate today; they told him he needs to go to the British consulate to get the forms. What's going on? He needs to register a used motorbike in his name.

Are they really issuing these again? Was the person he talked to just lazy and sent him away? It would be nice to really know what's going on with this before he dishes out 2000B.

  9. AGFU is today! New committee to be appointed, FINALLY!!!!

This Monday's CH3 (May 19) MALE ONLY run.

The run is somewhere out in Mae Rim. The outgoing GM has not released the details for this "double secret probationary run". I am not quite sure why it is a secret but he is the GM and can do whatever he wants for the next few hours at least. Today is a once a year thing so if you can make it I am sure you will enjoy it. We'll have plenty of food and beer all for only 300 baht. Today is a dry day with no alcohol being served so what else do you have to do?

Run @ 5:30 Pick up from the Number One Bar at 4:30

    ON Oooooooooooooooon

    The secret is out!

Run directions are as follows: Go north towards Mae Rim and turn left at the HHH sign just behind the army base. From there follow HHH signs.

  11. The other fishing, of course, is to get out on a lake or river and go after native species in a natural habitat. That takes a boat or kayak for best results and you have to know somebody to do that.
The question is where to find that somebody....

It's not an advert if people are asking for it. So come on and tell us already!

  12. May 13th 2008

    Onshore rate: 32.17 (BKK Post)

    Offshore rate: 31.91 (XE.com)

I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, the onshore rate is only used internally in Thailand and not recognized as the true rate by world markets. You can't even find the onshore rates in most international financial publications. It is one of the only, if not the only country to use this system. To me it makes no sense, If I bring cash to the country I get a higher exchange rate than if I was to transfer it in. These numbers also move independently of each other due to factors I don't yet understand. I remember not to long ago there was a difference of at least 3 baht between the on and offshore rates, the gap now seems to have closed substantially.

  15. Dude. I'm always looking for someone to partake in my brews - I do my own. You should PM and we can have a few somewhere. I get the herbs at a variety of places. I get fresh herbs from the Hmong up on Doi Suthep, or dried mixes at the Buffalo Auction 'Kad Wuwa' in San Patong. I get the lao khao from anywhere out in the sticks, usually in a bag, or sometimes bottled. Take 'em home n steep in an old 100 Pipers (or nicer bottle if I got one) for a month as you said.

I've learned a few tricks too. Pi Mong, my old neighbor taught me to always throw some honey in for better flavor. That's my trademark for doing it now. And then a Hmong guy last yr broke out a bottle of Lychee dong to show me - frikkin' fabulous! You seed a bunch of fresh lychees - season just beginning - cut in half, add a pinch or two of sugar, and a most convincing after dinner liquer is born.

And as far as the animal names of the mixes.... I usually do three of them. 'Maa Kratup Long' - the horse is scratching the ground with his hoof or something to that effect. 'Sao Dtok Dieng' - A young girl falls into the bed or something along those lines, and finaly

Ho Sapai Kwai - something like the mix for you to pull the Buffalo instead of it pulling you. Believe it's the one supposed to give 'extra male strength.' But then the others are kind of like that too. And also supposed to help body aches. Can attest to definite psychoactive effects from the herbs and far-out dreams after downing a few good shots. Nice with a beer back, much like a tequila shot followed by a Corona.

I think you should bring a bit tomorrow; I like the stuff and would love to try lychee infused ya dong!

  16. In response to several questions, the 5 post qualification was posted 2 months ago when the party thread was initiated and will be enforced.

This is done in fairness to all contributing members as well as the owner of Tuskers.

So the only 2 qualifications for entry is a valid login and 5 posts prior to 10 March, 2008. If you meet those qualifications, you are most welcome.

    Thanks for your understanding.

Just a thought, it looks like quite a few members that were planning on attending before the date change won't be able to go now. And I am sure there will be members showing up on Saturday who didn't get the memo. That leaves spots open for members that may not have met the required ammount of posts. Just seems a bit unfair with the current situation to turn away members that would otherwise want to join us. Who knows, there may be another BB or UG out there but we may never know........

BTW, if the Pattaya boys are not all coming up we are going to have lots of extra beer and food, I am sure we can finish the beer but what about all the extra food?

  17. Announcement: New pickup point starting this week (May 6) for the CUMH3 is at the Number One Bar.

This Tuesday's CUMH3 (06-05) From Suthep road go south on canal road about 1 km and look for hash signs to the right which lead to the fire station behind Doi Suthep.

  18. I see another election is planned for the 11 of May. Does anyone know if the sale of alcohol will be stopped during the weekend?

We were told to close on Saturday the 10th. I can triple check just to make sure though. How is this going to affect the TV BBQ????

We also have to close for the religious holiday this month.
