Since when is an MRI conclusive proof of cancer, surely a biopsy is the gold standard test?

I made my post (and link) in the hope it might benefit others. Not to enter a debate as to what can conclusively prove or not prove cancer.  I followed the advice of one of the top urologists in Thailand and he is confident the MRI is as far as humanly possible sufficiently conclusive.

Read the Daily Telegraph article which in effect supports my doctors advice.

If you are a prostate specialist then let us know your credentials.

A couple of years ago doctors in Pattaya were trying to persuade me to have a biopsy as my PSI level was high/above the norm. I did some research including on this forum and found a well respected doctor in Bumrungrad who recommended an MRI scan, which  showed simply an enlarged prostate but no evidence of cancer.

The scam was paid for my insurance company.

Since the time of my scan my PSI level has fallen to not so far from normal.

I am posting this simply to tell my own personal experience as everyone is different.

But lessons from my experience may benefit others.

-Often those who claim not looking old enough to retire are around 58, but think they look 38, but the rest of us believe they look 78.

  4. I am reading that for the forthcoming 10 year Visa one requirement will be for insurance cover for both In patient and Out patient cover.

My platinum BUPA insurance only covers in patient treatment.

Anyone know roughly how much extra to pay percentage wise to get coverage that includes out patient cover too?

I will call BUPA when the new Visa details are fully confirmed but if anyone has some input now, gratefully received.

    Many thanks in advance.

UK national policy isn't made for the benefit of expats...it's made for the benefit of 98% of UK citizens who live in the UK, who voted for their freedom, which is priceless.

It will soon be dawning on those 98% that the enormous rise in the cost of living and their decreased standard of living is  far from a vote for freedom!

  7. OP writes: "Can anyone recommend a trustworthy place to replace the screen on my Samsung 10.1. tablet in Pattaya "

Well i would suggest you start at the official Samsung service center in Sukumvit Road (spelling error) not far from Big C south. Use google or whatever, to get the precise address/phone number.

Samsung have staff on site to do the work and I have been to the place previously for my phone and tablet and acceptable service. I have not needed to replace my Tablet screen so not 100% sure they can do the work, but surely they can, so either phone in advance to find out or just go along to see them.

Please post here how you can on with getting a new screen, cost etc.

"As expected, TrueVisions has secured a sub-licence from Qatari BeIN Sports to telecast English Premier League soccer matches in Thailand after its rival CTH decided last month to pull out of the race because of financial difficulties, according to an industry source.

The country's largest subscription-based TV broadcaster is expected to hold a press conference tomorrow about this news, which should be exciting for its 3 million subscribers. The company had lost this top-tier soccer league for three years.

The source said that under the new three-season contract, 380 live matches would be broadcast each season, but further details could not be revealed at this stage."
  9. Yesterday 5th June I was invited by a thai friend to visit HTMS Chakri Naruebet. An aircraft carrier vessel which is moored at the dock within The Thai navy museum in Sattahip. A drive of about 1 hour or so from Pattaya.

The vessel so i believed was open to all the public.

Necessary to provide proof of ID before getting onto the vessel. So as a foreigner i brought along my passport.

On arriving at the museum we went to where the vessel was docked. An official was at the boarding point screening people and I could see that there many people, including Thai families already on the vessel.

However when the official saw me it was made clear to my Thai friend that as I was non Thai I was not allowed onto the vessel as it was still in active service and we were turned away.

What a waste of my time!

This is just another example of the continuing and growing discrimination against foreigners in Thailand; be it for new unfair immigration requirements, land ownership, price discrimination and so on, etc etc.

There will surely come a time if not here already that most of us who contribute a lot financially to the Thai economy and to the well being of the people here will say enough is enough and look elsewhere to live.

    Am I correct or not?
