Petulance at its finest.
The PTP don't seem to listen very well
If at first you don't succeed, don't take up hang-gliding
Or amending constitutions!
-
1. ) Makes no difference what happens in OTHER parliaments,
it is not legal under the Thailand constitution to allow MP's to proxy vote.
2. ) Yes, these muppets seem to be in contempt of court.
3. ) The change in text is; where a committee filed a text as the one to vote on,
between 'Readings' and THEN the text that was actually voted on was NOT the one submitted.
Bait and switch. It was not the one amended by committee, but another doctored one.
4. ) In any case it did not follow constitutional procedures.
5. ) the point of exempting the senate from being 100% elected,
or allowing the family members of MP's to become senators,
was very simply to take the political machines out of the equation
in at least one law making house of government.
The fact that one clan can take control of the entire parliament, except the senate,
and the government of the day, makes it quite clear the benefit of having
2 bodies of governance that this clan can NOT touch to get their way clear
for total control and the logical megalomaniacal dictatorships that goes with it.
muppets notwithstanding who appointed the appointed senators?
How long is their tenure?
They've been in post since 2006.
I seem to recall that they all resigned en masse just before their appointments were due to expire and then reapplied for same jobs.
If that is the case then it makes a mockery of democracy.
Then we have the group of 40. No question of their allegiances. Didn't they hide out in a room last friday refusing to make up a quorum?
Muppets
A parrot's natural tendency is to mock......
If you think that we haven't seen enough raping and violation of democracy in the past few weeks by the PTP shennanigans then you must be blind

When the red shirts start their own political party that seeks to better the lives of the working class then I will don a red shirt and come to the rallies
Until then, they can all cry into their som tum
Rise up! Be true to your beliefs!!

Getting reaaaaaaallly tired and bored of reading the same thing all the time
I do agree, he should pack his things and lose himself
Well, you should know - you write most of it.
There are 10 types of poster - those who write with their own opinions and the rest

He's in contempt of court
So is the contemptuous Jarupong
Both have no idea about rules in a democracy
"we only cheated a little bit" seems to be the swansong for PTP
The whole PTP seems to be in contempt of court! This is just farcical again. All the proponents of the amendment refuse to understand the courts reasoning.
A brief summary:
The versions changed between readings. That is fraud.
Some voted on behalf others. That is fraud, too. Mai pen rai does not fly in government.
Now, what is not clear about this? Are they being deliberately obtuse?
The court had no problem with changing the law regarding senators. Its the way PTP did it.
They did have a problem with allowing family members of MPs being senators. dam_n right.
That is called Conflict of Interest, which is the central problem with this whole ridiculous group of clowns who call themselves the government of Thailand.
You get it now, Charupong?
Can you specifically tell us what changes were made between readings?
i'm not aware of what these changes were and in their judgement have they specifically referred to these inclusions, changes or whatever? For clarification.
I don't think so
Everyone should be using the same version - common sense innit!!!

poor chap.
there is really no place for this type of behaviour in society.
you'd have to point the finger at people who are allowed to set a bad example and get away with it
I agree with some of your postings and some not, But Moruya, c'mon just point the finger at the people that stabbed the elderly gentleman and the bomb throwing fool's, and these are the ( so-called ) people with intellect I read by so many here on TV, I'm not convinced.
What ever happened to the Thais holding the older generation in high regard and respect?
Uni student with sharp metal object and an axe to grind V elderly man on his way too the bus.
You're right - it was a poor post
My mind was still full of glee that the bandits got some comeuppance.
The point I was trying to make is that the issues of violence during both sets of demonstrations, largely minor affairs, were all involving youths.
The inter school violence is another breeding ground
Previous demonstrations have been very similar to football hooliganism - pick a colour and fight. Sets a poor example
In terms of justice, some will look at Chalerm's sons, some will look at Red Bull man, some will look at Tarit
Where can today's youth see real justice in Thailand?
I despair.

All 310 of them should be swelling the ranks of Bang Kwang and Klong Prem

Suthep should charge this turnip cruncher with stealing democracy from the people and raping the constitution

Like thieves stealing in the night.....

even more skulduggery from those in positions of power.
Was this part of an ongoing plan to fleece tourists so there's enough money to pay the rice farmers?

So, the bandits got their <deleted> slapped.
They are lucky to still be in power and even luckier that nobody was made accountable for their deceit of the electorate

Those who plead democracy are the same bandits that cheated during the house vote.
That alone should see them hung from the Taksin Bridge by their gonads

GDP is an interesting animal......
Spending governmemnt money on large infrastructure puts money into the economy by purchasing goods and purchasing services/manpower.
A lot of the loan is intended to be spent on a high speed rail system - and a lot on road improvements.
The caveats that I have are these:
Purchasing some goods will be good for Thailand - cement for example as it is domestically produced. Purchasing high speed rail components will only add to the already high import bill.
Purchasing manpower will depend on where it comes from and the majoprity of large and small construction projects are staffed by large numbers of foreIgn (Cambodian) workers that will send their money home as well as spend it in Thailand - another deficit to the balance of payments. Does Thailand even have a large enough skilled workforce to compete?
The loan will surely come from foreign banks - and the interest payments will therefore also impact the balance of payments. The loan is not a staged transaction, for some bizarrre reason it is to be sought up front - Abhisit and Korn have questioned this approach.
I have seen articles on how quickly the infrastructure work can be ramped up. There's lots to be done before the shovels hit the dirt
Even years down the line when the roads and rail are in use, the income from them will be either low or negligible
So anybody seeing this as the silver bullet for the Thai economy should spend some time considering the full metrics
The whole scheme has been ill-considered - apart from the bit about where the money will go

The other side of this coin is that a lot of people could end up coming over to have various ailments fixed and thus costing the insurers a whole pile of cash
Wonder if it will cover the spectrum of social diseases that might be contracted during a visit to the popular tourist areas of Cowbot and Nana?

It sounds to me like his cerebral matter is beggining to autolyse.
But then again, it always did.

How many kratongs had effigies of Thaksin in them?
-
One can only hope that the insidious but ineffectual Tarit is about to be found guilty of abuse of power.
I would also hope that when the judge sentances him to a lengthy term of incarceration that he puts him in a cell with a serial whistler

If they learned how to drive
Turned off the red radio
Took off their red glasses
Re-installed the seat belts
Then maybe they could climb the league tables
-
So, it doesn't require evidence - just clear charges.
The last time the Dems presented evidence, Tarit took it away as homework and hid it under his favourite stone.
I believe evidence on the Rice Scam was produced in the house implicating a red shirt wife.
I'm sure the good people at the ministry of finance (the ones that haven't been moved to jobs where they can't hurt the PTP) could show in jiffy that the scheme is corrupt. The percentage to farmers was very small. Where did the rest go?

Red shirts to rally at Bangkok's Rajamangala Stadium

This could prove to be the end of the road for the red shirts if it turns into another tiny picnic
In my humble opinion, the red shirts will get more support if they stand alone rather than with this bunch of scoundrels
