  2. why not rubber, why not palm oil, why not cats and dogs..... just schemes for politicians to have more corruption to line their pockets. The only victims here are the hard-working, tax paying, public...go figure!

Rice pledging scheme was just the opening of this Pandora's box. This government is going to get what's coming....

    This is just the beginning.

    Thaksinomics is getting it's comeuppance

Indeed. They managed to implement a system that worked even worse than the CAP. That really takes some doing.

    Haha! Very true.

Is a carrot still classified as a fruit so the Spaniards can make marmalade?

  5. You have to know who is Nattawut to understand the underlying purpose of making this statement.

Most probably it is meant to be for the ears of his red supporters only.

Must be the most wasted set of ears on the planet connected to the most indoctrinated cerebral matter.

  6. No the blue shirts attacked the redshirts on the road. Pictures emerged of Newin using a walkie talkie at the scene. Doing his bit for the royalists.

Hay Mrs slaters Parrot, that would be the same day the reds smashed Abhisit's car wouldn't it?

He is lucky to be alive, if he had been in the car that day there is a very good chance he would not.

And that was after the reds broke into the ASIAN meeting that that some of the delegates scrambling to get into helicopters to escape wasn't it?

But of course breaking down doors isn't violence is it, not when the reds do it anyway.

That day was a great show of just how much Thaksin cares about the county and its reputation overseas.

    And Nick;

So now we move forward to last weekend when the poor reds were so viciously attacked by some students.

What were the reds doing there anyway?

I know if you don't, they were there doing their best to disrupt someone else's meeting. As they have done many times before.

In other words they were trying to cause trouble, so the got trouble, diddums.

And 2 old ladys got hurt you say? So the red leaders are still hiding behind old ladys, its a wonder they didn't have children there in front of them as well, as they have in the past.

Your attempt to go back to the seventies and use a fictional film to label vocational students as violent just doesn't wash.

Could it be that some of the violent students from back then are now red shirt leaders or even PT MP's? That would fit very well.

Interesting you mention the reds and Abhisit's car.

My understanding was it was proven he was not in the car but continued to pretend that he was to garner support until it was proven otherwise.

Sleeps as he lies. Not straight.

From Wikipedia - a source that I find more credible that somebody else's bird.

"On 12 April, protesters surrounded Abhisit's limousine at the Interior Ministry in Bangkok and hurling objects at his windows. Abhisit made it out safely while one of his deputies was wounded by the protesters. Government spokesman Panitan Wattanayakorn said that Abhisit's inner circle viewed the attack as a well-coordinated assassination attempt, claiming that security footage of the incident showed men with masks and guns were positioned on the perimeter of the attack, apparently waiting for protesters to break through the car's bulletproof windows."

  7. For years Thailand claimed tourism makes up tiny 6% of GDP, now all over sudden Thailand claims tourism is big enough to supplement exports?

Either someone is not too good with a calculator or some likes to talk porkies

Well it never is quite that simple. Tourism has a very high multiplier effect and feeds myriad service industries so it's probably more than 6%.

How much gets recorded on the books and in cash registers?

How much gets paid in cash to dusky maidens?

The Grey economy here is probably bigger than the published one

  8.  So long as Thailand has an agreeable climate, winsome fillies and cheap piss there will be a booming tourism industry. A xenophobic and offensive government, greedy corrupt police force and arcane visa regulations can not dampen tourists enthusiasm for a jolly time spunking their cash once a year. The world gets smaller with other tourist hotspots like Egypt going down the toilet, tourists have to go somewhere.

    Difficult to argue with that.

    The dropping baht helps too.

Gai yang, Som tum, khao niaow, chang and a winsome lass with 10% off

  9. The PTP scum don't seem to understand that Yingluck isn't royalty and can be criticized, especially since she's a bimbo who doesn't do anything except Skype with her brother. It sickens me to think eventually, the Shinawatra lackeys are going to clamp down on all free speech. TV posters beware. We're next.

But But Tarit said she is head of State?

Indeed. He should be arrested for spreading lies about Yingluck

Unfortunately, if some politicians are unable to conduct themselves in a responsible manner and instead behave as petulant bullies, then the grownups must step in and deal with the bullies.

I think Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan et Al acted as grown ups to Spitting Image.

I think Tarit and Yingluck are being spoiled bullies

  11. Why is Thailand going bankrupt, where did the money go???? Look at where our Prime Minister travels, and you know the answer...Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

On what basis do you make the statement Thailand is going bankrupt?

Apparently, you think it is funny to make a false and misleading statement like that. I do not. Get back to me once you have read the Thai national budget and national "balance sheet". I hope you have the   ability to read a financial statement and to understand "big numbers".

Thailand is approximately 50% of GDP in debt and growing.

Expenditure is greater than income and growing.

Imports now exceed exports and growing.

Given the above, a 2.2 trillion loan over 50 years and a wavering Moody's rating which would vastly increase interest payments I'd say he was about right.
