  1. I have seen numerous water filters in all if the big stores but do not have a clue as to what is required . Can anyone recommend a good water filter for my house and give me some tips ?

I recently bought a water pump for my new house. we have a floor upstairs and the so called village plumber reckons that the pump cannot supply the taps upstairs. of course the pressure in the shower upstairs is fine but the taps in the sinks have hardly any flow at all. is this the correct pump and if it is are the pipes done incorrectly ?

  3. thanks for your reply I will check the lamps.as for the oven I will explain it to the sparky when I find him.

I have a separate gas hob and I wanted to put the oven underneath it.

I enclose a photo of the space where i want to put it...

do you think this space will be okay or will it require some insulation around the oven as the cupboard space is slighty bigger and if so what?post-40219-14178369133674_thumb.jpg

  4. I recently got a house built and kow want to install an oven. Is there anything i need to be wary off....i remember the cooker in UK had a special plug in the wall ...is it the same here ?

also i have bought dimmer lights but the electrician has installed them as just normal lights that do not DIM ???

    what can i do ?

  5. Ubonjoe you were right.I made a statement..showed them payments for the last 6 mths and they worked out a monthly amount. Showed them a business partnership contract and they said that without a supporting document it would not have been possible. Thanks again for your advice.

Went to CW to translate and legitimize it (which i nearly forgot) and they told me to come back on Monday for the legalization. I said i lived in Isaan and they said they would post it.....happy days !

  6. Thanks Ubonjoe ..once again..

the Embassy sent me this ...

As you are not a pensioner. We can provide you “Statutory Declaration” for various purposes such as confirming your income, opening a bank account, affirming your family status or declare that you are the same person on different documents. Please bring with you all relevant documents to support the application ( passport, evidence of your income). You will be asked to complete a pro-format in clear hand writing which we will then sign and officially stamp.

So i guess i write down a figure for each month covering the last year...with the amount my business partner sends in UK pounds to my thai account and then presumably get them to sign it and stamp it ??

then go to Chaeng Wattana and get them to translate it ?

  7. I have contacted the UK embassy and they say that because I am not a pensioner I will have to complete a statue tree form. this I believe I will fill out in my hand writing on a standard form and they will stamp it. Since the money is paid into my Thai bank account..:does that mean I have to get a letter from my business partner stating the amount in English Pounds ?

  8. Does anyone know what the UK embassy require other than bank statements ? I do not have a pension but i have a company in UK that pays me 100,000 bht per month into my Thai bank account.

Previous posts have said that the income cannot be converted into baht and that the relevant tax documentation has to be shown also.

Can anyone tell me what is required ?

My O Marriage visa is going to expire in January and NK Immigration have told me i can use this letter to extend my stay instead of going outside Thailand to get another O visa...is this true ?

  9. Does anyone know how to transfer from an O Marriage visa to a Supporting Child Visa ?

Also ...if you are no longer living with wife do you have to report the new address to immigration ?

Also does a visa for supporting a child count towards permanent residency ?

  10. Ok...

    enough is enough...

My wife says she will not renew my O Marriage visa in January next year.

So where does that leave me ?

Do i have to start getting a different visa ?

Can I get a visa to look after my two kids if i am not divorced yet ?

Do i have to get an Ed visa ?

Her parents are holding my kids Thai and UK passports and their birth certificates at my wife's request..Do I have to go and get copies made to apply for a different visa ?

  11. my daughter was born in June and she is now 3 months old.

I was there at the birth and booked private doctors and the best level of service (50,000 bht) for the birth.

Admittedly she probably gets tired and snaps at me.. Sometimes i snap back...and then all hell breaks loose..

She cannot control her temper and there is no reasoning with her..

Now i have left, she has taken all my personal docs, passport, kids birth certificates and has told me that when my wages come she will take 50,000 bht to look after the kids and then i can have them back..

    Same old threats....

she told me i could take the kids ..when i asked for it in writing she told me i could never take them ...If she did give me them i would be on the first plane out..

  12. My wife doesn't gamble or drink but despite doing a little bit of promotional work she has never worked hard in her life. She doesn't allow anyone to talk back to her and she always gets her own way. In a word..emotional immaturity. Her other fault is that when she has an argument she cannot calm down...she just gets angrier and angrier. If i continue talking to her when she is shouting she will get more and more furious. If i remain silent it's the same.If i point out that my son is nearby and can hear everything then it infuriates her more.

She tells me she is leaving, then she tells me i have to pick one of my kids to leave with, the. she tells me to get out of the house!

She doesn't squander money and her family aren't alcoholics but i keep thinking there is a way to solve this but it seems that if i do not bow down to her demands then she blows her top.

I want to be near to my kids but she wants me far away with visitation on her terms and to pay for my mistake !!!!

  13. I am due to travel with Eva from LHTR to BKK...i know Eva allow 20kg but i have 22kg....Also I know the hand luggage is 7kg and i have 7.5kg....does anyone have recent experience with Eva ?

Also they say on their website that you can have a bag and a laptop bag totaling 7 kg...Would they check the weight before boarding because

surely everyone buys stuff and are carrying much more than 7kg ??

  14. I have a load of books (probably a large suitcase full 15kg) ...and i would like to take them to Thailand..Does anyone have advice on the best way to send them ?

I have heard that sending them via air or sea freight might result in a few "extra" customs charges....

I am in UK... any ideas ... Parcelforce..excess baggage ...dhl ??

  16. but i am a little worried that it may backfire. I have faith in the judicial process but I'm worried that she will hurt herself and tell the police i

done it. i'm also worried that she would just lift the boy and disappear.

    I am stuck.

she wants 50,000 by the end of the month so she can look after both kids until we divorce.. I don't have a problem with that except the way she talks to me and the fact that some of the money will probably go to her parents... I have also ordered for window grills to be fitted to the house and an air conditioner which should set me back about a hundred thousand and now I'm tempted to cancel these.

do i go to the police ?

do i give her the money and start saving 400,000

to get a new visa to take care of the

    kids?
