  1. How can i bend the rules in my favour ?

How can i make sure that my son has a good upbringing without being a pawn in a game ?

How can i tiptoe around someone else's emotions ?

If i slam my foot down and take control of the finances then she will run off with my son ?

  2. My wife would never let me take him back to UK. By the way we are in Phon Phisai...in the middle of nowhere .

I would like my son to have a Mother and Father but i think if we divorced and i set myself up alone.. then i would think that my wife would demand 50k per month and if i dod not hand it over then she would either take the boy to the USA (she has a 10 year visa) or she would make it difficult for me to see him .

If i had a private jet .. we would both be in London tomorrow.

  3. It's the boy i care about.

One night she is nice and the next i am told to sleep in the other room.

When i say i want to sleep next to my son then she says i am selfish.

I know she has to get up 3 times a night to feed him but...

i get up at 7.. do housework, cooking , shopping , shower the boy , change his nappy .. all non stop until midday .. then i work from home from 2pm until 10pm 5 days a week !!!

If i could have the kid and keep him guaranteed i would be off !!

    How can i win ?

  4. Well Fifty Two .. you were right..she did come back..

I stayed at our house and she came

back with our son after a few days. I missed him and was glad to see him.

She said that we could live under the same roof but separately . I agreed in principle because i wanted to be close to my son .

There was a part of me that wanted to tell her that i would buy everything for the child (milk, nappies etc) and pay the water and electric and invest every single penny in my son's future UK education but i kept my mouth shut.

Would i like to raise my child without her ? , maybe i would...but if i start to change the rules of the game now.. how much of the negativity , anger and stress will affect my son ?

Do i want to risk my wife running off with him and subjecting him to an impoverished life ?

  5. Well i guess the inevitable happened. The soon to be ex-Mrs arrived at the house this morning mob handed. She gave my passport back (luckily i found the baby's uk passport hidden in the house last night !) and then proceeded to snatch the baby from my arms with the help of her family.

I resisted and the baby started crying so i let him go . heartbreaking to say the least..

the Mrs then told me that i could see him one day in the future and they all left...

    who knows what's next ?

  6. If a Thai wife goes to the ampur and petitions for divorce.. do i have to leave the LOS ?

    We have a 7 month old son and after a row today my wife has; bitten me on the arm, dug her nails into my neck , and given me the following options ;

1-leave our house and then contact her in a few months to check if i can see my son again .. or

2- stay in our house with our son and look after him alone without any help.. even though her parents are 2 doors away.

If i take option 2, which i have, she has told me that i must go to the ampur with her tomorrow and divorce her . if i do divorce her how can i stay and look after my child ?

ps -- she has taken my british passport, my son's british and thai passport and driven off ..

    What to do ?

  7. i would like to take my wife (thai) and my son ( thai.. soon to be dual uk nationality) to uk and to a schengen country also.

i have been told that my sons uk passport will take 6 weeks to process but the thai passport takes 3 days.

is it ok to make a separate uk family visitor visa for him ( using his thai passport and relationship to me , a UK citizen) then also apply for a schengen visa for him to travel with my wife and i .. or hold on tight and hope the passport comes in 5 weeks... cos we travel then !!!

  8. Hi all !

i am taking the Mrs to UK for 6 weeks or so.

Last time we got her a Tourist visa and this time we are married.

Do i get her a visa to visit family or a tourist visa.

Which is easier ? if any ?

Are the document requirements the same ?

Is it easier now we are married ?

Any advice or stories would be appreciated.

    p.s. i am a UK citizen.

  9. I am looking to fly to UK with the Mrs and come back in mid-September.

I have looked at the Thai and Eva Air websites and they are asking 85,000 THB.

Is this a normal price ?

Are there travel agents in Bangkok or elsewhere that can offer better deals than the airlines directly ?

    Any help would be appreciated.....;

  10. Hello all.

I havte been living in Thailand since October last year and am now married (November 2012).

I am a UK Passport holder and want to take Mrs Battersea to the UK in July for 6 weeks and then go to Paris , Barcelona and maybe Rome.

Does anyone know if the Italian , Spanish or French Embassy is easier , more relaxed or more sympathetic to apply for a Schengen Visa ?

Does the fact that i am married now make it easier ?

  11. Hello All, i am a UK citizen and will be arriving on a 30. day exemption on 24th October. i hope to get my affirmation to marry as soon as i get there and plan my wedding on 9th November. After that i would like to go to Savannakhet and get a visa to remain with my wife.. an O visa i think .

Is this possible on a 30 day visa exemption ( i didn't have time to get a double entry tourist visa ) ?

also my return plane ticket is for 23 rd December even though i don't have a 2 month visa... will this be a problem when i land in Thailand ?

  12. Thanks everyone...i have read all the links about Savannakhet and Vientiane but I am not applying on the basis of having a Thai child or visiting friends.

If anyone has experience of applying at Vientiane and knows of the financial requirements ..please let me know ...

Maybe driving from Nong Khai to Savannakhet is an easier albeit arduous option ????

  13. You can get a single entry non-o visa at any nearby consulate based upon marriage to a Thai. You can then apply for an extension of stay at immigration if you meet the financial requirements.........

if i hope to stay until july 2013 and then work in UK for three months....do i have to apply for a multi entry or will a single entry do ???

how long does an O visa last ?

will i have to leave the country every 90 days ?

if i hope to stay until july 2013 and then work in UK for three months.(then return to Thailand)

...do i have to apply for a multi entry or will a single entry do ???

  14. i am building a house in Isaan...not exactly in town and not exactly in the bush either...

there are mosquitoes and flies and a few snakes now and then but there are a lot of rats....

Does anyone know a way of dealing with these rodents. ?

Is there something i can do before the house is finished to repel them or at least help to repel them ?

Does anyone know of any other methods to keep them out ?

  15. 1. a tourist visa will be fine.

    2. the whole process of getting the letter, having it translated and certified should take 2 days.

    3. After your marriage you can convert to a non-immigrant visa at immigration if you can show an income of 40,000 baht a month (can be from abroad) OR can show 400,000 baht in a bank account in Thailand, in your name.

    4. With an extension of stay, you will need a re-entry permit.

For point (3) does that mean that the 40,000 baht per month can be from the UK (and paid into a UK bank account) or does that mean that the income can be from the UK but paid into a Thai account ? Does it matter ?
