You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I taught for a very large chain of private schools in Bangkok for 10 years and am certain that as soon as school directors/management start considering schools as educational institutions instead of cash cows things will improve dramatically. So much valuable school time and resources are wasted on the school promoting itself with activities such as Open days, Sports days, Parents days etc etc. Whats wrong with for example Sports Days? Nothing is wrong with Sports day. What I objected to was losing my students for the last period each day for 3 weeks so they could practise cheering?? Thats right, 15 hours wasted on looking good for the parents. That is a tiny example of what goes on daily right across the board.
Schools also need to pay real salaries if they want real teachers. Some teachers today are earning less today than when I started 20 years ago. Sure there are some bad teachers but in my experience its only a very small proportion, there are many fine teachers out there who are unfortunately hamstrung by the schools.
I cant really speak about Government schools but from what I hear the situation is the same. After I retired and moved to Isaan I was offered a job in a local government school. I refused saying I was retired but the director kept coming back week after week with an increase in salary and a reduction in the hours I would need to 'attend'. He finally gave up after he reached the figure they were paying the previous teacher who unbeknown to him, I knew previously. The director had been skimming the teachers salary and couldnt care less what was taught so long as a white face was seen around the school from time to time.
Nothing will change.

A bit telling when your own party casts you aside.
The old guard has to go, stop reelecting incumbents, if you want change, as they've failed the people for decades, while enriching themselves.
The people of the US have failed themselves. How can almost 50% want this incompetent egotistical pathological liar in office, I mean its not like anybody doesnt know.

What a wood-duck! Comes to Thailand, gets caught with an underage prostitute, escapes on bail? and then as if he shouldnt have praise the Gods he got away, has to go home and brag about it while pointing the finger at the police for impropriety!! While telling all in order to show the Thai police as corrupt he is tightening the noose around his own neck as he goes.

I've never seen a country that uses so many plastic bags for goods, food and even drinks.
Everything is wrapped, served, eaten, drunk or delivered in plastic
And it almost becomes an arguement if you refuse a bag or get laughed at for trying to "save da worl"!!

This is all just a big show. Yes, they'll all be there at centre stage "grilling" the police hospital reps but of course it will be found that Mr Thaksin truly is too ill to leave hospital and for reasons of privacy the detaills of his ailments will not be released. Furthermore, he must remain in hospital under constant care at taxpayers expense until at least February when, coincidently, he will be pardoned. Next!

Abysmal reporting absolutely no content other than the tent & a person were there which tells us nothing.
They did give a location and showed the team of police required for such risky business. I suppose SWAT were too busy with the umbrella guys.

What are the chances of these machines tearing off arms or legs as we have seen with other machines at the airport?

If things stand the way they are. The only alternative is Biden. Who is not that great. But better than having Trump. But if Trump actually ends up running. I have a feeling he will win.
Surely there's a box of rocks out there somewhere better suited to the job?

Yep, when you're the big kid on the block all the wannabees want to test you, I get it. My point is, don't complain about Thai racism if you are racist yourself.

This whole forum blows my mind. On one topic people complain about Thai racism and how it's so unfair, then on this topic people are being racist against someone only because they come from a different country than they do.
Can't have it both ways people.
No, only towards yanks and only coz they deserve it.

I have been taking careful note of all this, not falling in to old traps. I stayed home alone for the last two days, wore a mask the whole time and must have washed my hands a hundred times they look like prunes. I guess Im good for at least a couple of weeksafter that effort!

What we have here is a lack of common sense. Two factors come to mind.
1. The govt is partly to blame for constantly denying people in Thailand have sex. There is a huge sex industry here and there is always a seedy side to red light areas so caution must be taken.
2. Its hard to believe that these Chinese women have no idea what the main attraction is in Nana.
I dont think I have ever been anywhere in the world without checking it out in a book or on the internet etc first.
I think these women knew exactly what goes on there and were curious or some maybe even looking for a bit of attention themselves. I not saying they wanted to get involved in any way apart from maybe getting looked at or a whistle. And yes they should be able to do that safely, sure! But like the girl raped on Koh Chang recently, she should be able to wander alone or with a guy to a secluded beach without hassles but unfortunately that is not the world we live in.

I got an ATM card locked by an OZ bank, and that was at a hospital ATM, I rang them and explained NO I am not in Pattaya!/Chonburi as they thought I was, I'm in a TRAT hospital and need to pay them, they unlocked it. Tossers. OZ banks SUCK.
I agree mate, I was with the National bank, the Commonwealth bank, and Bankwest among others until someone suggested Bendigo. I have been with them now for over 25 years and have not one complaint in all that time. Give them a go.
