Hi, I had to exchange my UK license for a local (European country) one  when I moved there more than 20 years ago. I phoned the local licences authority  and asked them where my licence was - they had sent it back - to the DVLA it seems.

The DVLA will  NOT issue UK licences to non-UK residents.

Can I use my European one instead to get a Thai licence? I would prefer definitive answers and not opinions ???? I will be applying in Chiang Mai and I am well aware every office is different when it comes to things like this.

In Thailand there are no definitive answers because often it is different from office/r to office/r so there can only be opinions of which way it can go, I believe.

    You couldn't make it up.

You go put and buy an expensive sub ( which is of no use to you whatsoever) and then ..... you go looking for an engine!!

Hilarious, except the poor Thais have to pay for this monumental cluster f##k to satisfy some stupid old guys egos .....and of course pockets.

Thats nothing, next year they are putting out tenders for the procurement of snow ploughs (with engines).

The girls that fall for a scam like this are usually uneducated girls from poor families. Don’t be harsh.

It could be lack of education but I believe its greed blinding many.  For example I met a girl working in an eatery near Udon Thani who told me of a Nigerian she met online who was arriving in the near future but wanted to send his luggage first.  It was like she was telling me a joke but didnt get the punch line herself.  My wife and I tried to warn her of the consequences and chances of something going wrong but she would not here of it, she seemed to have taken the hook plus the line and sinker.  Next time we went that way the eatery was gone so no idea of the outcome.

they probably knew that it was more than massage, they can't say this here, however they get tricked as they didn't get the money promised, instead to be sex workers they were slaves. 100 000 bahts per month for sex workers isn't that much and they could even have friend making this amount in India, the problem here is that they got scammed.

100k a month for an average sex worker in Bagkok would be a lot of money.
