I know this sounds like a stupid question but, can anyone tell me if Tawangdaeng Rama 3, sells whiskey. If so, a rough idea of price per bottle. I've looked at their website but it looks like they only sell beer. I can't find any prices for spirits.
  2. My wife is Thai. We've been married and living in Thailand for the past 18 years. My stepdaughter had a baby when she was very young. The father did a runner and has not been seen since the birth of his daughter (My granddaughter). My wife and I have taken care of our granddaughter, from just after her birth until now (She's 10). I would like to know how difficult it would be for me to adopt my granddaughter, and what, if any, are the advantages of adoption for her. I have a good, steady job with a major Thai company, WP, Non imm 'O' visa, and yellow tabien baan. Any comments would be appreciated.
  3. Yes. I think I would pay the fine and get up-to-date asap, before applying for an extension
  4. Not a good option at CW. They have started to refuse Non Imm 'O' extensions if you don't have a record of 90 day reports. This has happened to a friend of mine recently. He always laughed at me doing 90 day reports, boasting that he hadn't done a report for many years, and if he gets caught he'll just pay the 2000baht fine. He's now been caught. his extension has been refused, and he got the 2000baht fine. Guess who's laughing now. ????
  5. I did mine at CW a couple of months ago. Only 1 copy of each document was needed. But, as you know, It depends on the officer and her mood at the time. Good Luck.
  6. I've just registered online. Let's see what happens ????
  7. No need to use an agent. I can just send Mrs JYY. She's much cheaper 555 Thanks for all the advice everyone. I've decided to give the online option a try, so Mrs JYY is first reserve.
  8. Online looks to be too hit and miss at the moment. I think Mrs JYY will just have to out up with another visit to CW...........I'm worth it 555
  9. My 90 day report is due soon. I usually ask my wife to go to Chaeng Watanna to do it, but she's not exactly keen on the idea. I live at Don Mueang and work in Pathum Thani. Is it possible for me to get my 90 day report done at the IO at Pathom Thani? My Non Imm 'O' visa is issued at CW. I know it could be done online but the system seems a bit inconsistant.
  10. If you're up around soi Cowboy call in to Country Road, or Oasis Bar, just down the soi, on the opposite side. Neither are 'Girly Bars' but good for music and a beer.
  11. A KR 2 is only valid for 1 month from date of issue, according to Don Muang amphur. CW immigration have always asked to see one.
  12. I get my peanuts from the local market, Saphan Mai, North Bangkok. 60 baht for 1kg, including a small bag of salt. They're already baked, I just put 500gms into the food processor and turn it on. If it looks a little dry I'll add some vegetable oil until I get the consistency I want.
  13. Can anyone recommend a decent esl bookshop in Bangkok. I only know of Chula, next to British Council in Siam. Any other suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks
  14. Make sure that whatever photo you give them is a recent one. At a visit to CW last month, I gave them a photo that was 2-3 years old. The officer wouldn't accept it. It was definitely me (I haven't changed THAT much). So, I'll be giving them a new photo every year from now on.
  15. Just a quick update. My birthday was on the 2nd June, and my first state pension payment arrived in my SCB account early on 3rd July.
  16. I have the same issue. It's bludy annoying.
  17. There is a consumer protection office at the government office complex at Chaeng Wattanna, Bangkok. My wife used them when we had a problem with our truck and the main dealer was unhelpful. They set up a meeting between the two parties and listened to both sides of the story. After no agreement was made, they suggested my wife take the dealer to court. They did all the paperwork for her. Finally, on the day of the court hearing, a settlement was made, (Which we were very happy with) 'Out of Court'. This was a free service. We paid nothing. Don't waste your time with the police.
  18. Thanks for that recommendation. I've just had a look at their website and I'll give them a visit soon.
  19. With respect, I'm not recommending them above any other broker. I'm merely passing on my experience with this broker to anyone who might be interested.
  20. Fortunately, I've never had to make a claim. However, all my other experiences with the company have been dealt with promptly and efficiently, so I have no reason to think that a claim would present a problem, or be any different.
  21. I've been with Roojai for the past 5 years. I've had no issues with them. Pay monthly.....easy.
  22. It's at work. I'll post it on Monday, unless someone beats me to it.
  23. When I called to claim my state pension, they asked me what bank I'd like the funds to be put into, and I gave them all my SCB details including SWIFT code. I called the international number.
  24. I just got the letter today. As you said, every 4 weeks. I can't see any exact date of payment. Do you know if there's a delay between 4 weeks from my birthday, and the day it lands into my Thai bank account?
