  1. I live in Don Mueang too. It was a huge downpour with extremely high winds.
  2. Not south Bangkok I'm afraid. Drive along the Rangsit/Nakhon Nayok rd. Turn left at Khlong 15, you will be spoilt for choice. You will also see a lot of wholsalers on the main road just before Khlong 15. Don't be distracted, carry on to the main wholsale/farm area.
  3. I've always found the pharmacy in Foodland soi 5 to be very good. Prices are fair. Generic brands (Not fake) are always worth considering.
  4. I use YT1s. Just copy and paste the URL and click 'Download'. I've never had a problem with it.
  5. The marriage certificate should cover this requirement.
  6. Thanks for your input Jim. How old are you? 5? 7? Does your mummy know you're on the computer?
  7. Green Room sounds interesting. What's it like? I Googled it but there's not much information.
  8. I'm not sure what 'Live' entertainment you're looking for but there are live bands and reasonably priced beers at Country Road in soi cowboy.
  9. Wife and I had 2 shots of AZ, free, at the local government hospital in August and November last year. Last week the Poo Yai Baan announced that boosters were available today at a local school. We got a Pfizer booster, again free. No side effects from any of the vaccines (So far).
  10. How far is 'Not Far'? You have Pat Rangsit, San Paolo, and Bcare. All three private hospitals are a short taxi ride from the airport. Then there's bhumibol adulyadej government hospital, which is right on the BTS green line (Station has the same name).
  11. Thanks for fixing my OP Crossy. As I said. My wife was told that if you can show them proof of your vaccination, you don't need to show proof of a negative ATK test. It's one or the other.
  12. I don't think the owner has much choice in the matter. We went there first, a few days earlier (No ATK test needed), and there was a large group of Covid 'Police' armed with clipboards and cameras, so I'm guessing the owner was given a choice of tightening up on his Covid precautions or face closure. If you can prove a recent negative test from elsewhere, it's not a problem. I showed them mine from work The test kits are only for those that haven't had a test before. Don't let a possible 10 minute wait put you off. It's worth it once you get inside. Mrs JYY has just told me that proof of 2 vaccines is also acceptable if you haven't had an ATK test.
  13. Doh !!! Yes, sorry, NEGATIVE. The excitement of getting in free today muddled my brain ????
  14. I've just got back home from a great day out with my wife and granddaughter. We visited a new water park in Pathum Thani, Klong Song, that has only been open a couple of weeks. It's not huge, but still a lot of fun for children. You can't take food or drinks in but everything inside is good quality and value. The whole place has a very relaxed vibe to it. Entry is cheap, less than 100 baht per person and free if you're over 60. NO DOUBLE PRICING. You do need to prove a negative ATK test before entering. You can take a test there for 100 baht. It's called Prem Water Park. Google it for more info and directions. As I said, it was a lovely family day out and I thoroughly recommend you give it a try
  15. Hole in Road..............Police are looking into it. Sorry....I'll get me coat ????
  16. There used to be a shop in the basement of the Chatuchak Shopping Mall, next to Chatuchak market. I can't remember the name of the shop and as it was around 15 yrs ago, it might not still be there. The shop sold a lot of wooden games. They definitely had Sungka because I bought a few sets to send back to the UK.
  17. No-one will take any notice of these proposed MC lanes, just as MC's don't take any notice of the 'Motorcycles Prohibited' signs on Vihavadi/Rangsit road.
  18. It was already too late by the time we found out what was going on. He tested negative on his first visit to the doctor. The damage had already been done. He was never the sharpest tool in the box but when they gave him an IQ test, he scored 69. I believe this officially classes him as an idiot. He's unable to do even the simplest of tasks. In many other countries the government would supply him and the family some kind of help and support but here................The family are left to try and deal with it.
  19. I would agree with this. Wife's son was introduced to Yaba at age 16. By 18, his brain was fried. Extreme paranoia, hearing voices 24 hrs a day. talking and laughing to himself. We got him to a doctor who prescribed some pretty strong meds for him. The problem is that no-one knows what mood he's going to be in. I know this will sound dramatic, but it's absolutely true, sometimes one look into his eyes is enough to tell you to avoid him completely. He sees a psychiatrist every 2 weeks and we've pleaded with her to hospitalise him but there's nothing available. Just keep taking the meds...........For the rest of his life.
  20. You CAN get Essenso 1/1. It comes in a box but might be a little harder to find.
  21. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I like the idea of the boat trip to Ko Kret, and I'll make sure to empty my wallet before entering the shopping malls. ????
  22. We have a niece (15) and nephew (13) coming to stay with us for a few days. Money is a bit tight at the moment so, can anyone suggest any inexpensive activities for them. Places to visit, things to see or do.
  23. Thanks. I hadn't thought of the insurance aspect.
  24. Thanks everyone for all the information. You have been very helpful. I'll pass it on to him.
