I was put off songkran about 10 years ago when I had a dustbin of Khlong water deposited on my head, unexpectedly and from behind. I swallowed some and ended up with a serious infection in my stomach. 3 weeks of illness, 1 week hospitalised. No more thank you.

If the OP is in Thailand having had his visa exempt cancelled either the IO is unsure of how to stop you entering, or allowed you to enter because it will mean more problems for you and more money for them the longer you stay in Thai. They will not accept an excuse of ' he cancelled it but still let me in'. I would go back to Laos now accepting the hassle you may get when booking out of Thailand and then wait in Laos until you can get a visa or flight out.

Cheers again, we will make it clear that we have to return to Thailand ( my job and her security ) as we did in the first app.

Thanks for that - we will try and see what happens.

I am confused ( not difficult ) and wonder if anyone can answer this question:
I live and work in Thailand and have a extension of my work permit etc until 2018. I live here and have done so for a long time.
My question is not about whether a visa will be granted but more of a technical one.
My Thai girlfriend was granted a multi entry UK visit visa on 6th April, 2016 with its validity from 14th April - 14 October, 2016.
During that time we travelled to the UK on 2 occasions. She was in the UK a total of 65 days (just over 2 months).
Now that her visa has expired is it feasible for her to apply for another one now, for travel back to the UK at the end of November, 2016 ? I know a visitor can only remain in the UK 6 months in any year, and she has not, but can she apply for a new visa so quickly after the expiration of the old one ?
I hope I have made my self clear.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Tetrad International is a manufacturer of high quality leather sofas and chairs which up until now have only been exported around the world from their factory in Ayutthaya.
These products are now available in Thailand. Have a look at http://www.tetradthailand.com or go to their showroom - details on the website. They definitely make large and small leather sofas and you can by one offs. They deliver countrywide.

all companies that have work permits must register for VAT regardless of turnover / income.
I am of the same opinion. Every lawyer I have spoken to about this says the same ( which is unusual ) - to get work permits the company has to be registered for vat - they dont have to pay it if they are not making enough money , just register and send in returns.

Perhaps this is not fair, but the PM promising that there will be no flooding is an admission that it was the governments fault that there WAS flooding last year.

And to think, the Thais said Lady Gaga gave Thailand a bad reputation by commenting on fake Rolex watches.
As I was told by a Thai the other day, ' You know too much - you been here too long, the world not know' I laughed and laughed again.

Well, perhaps slowly and I mean slowly,Thailand and Thailands big businesses will understand that they cannot do as they please.

The Thai Baht has weakened. It may be allowed to weaken further or it may not. There are significant arguments in Thailand for and against the strengthening of the Baht - if the exporters win the argument expect to see the baht weaken further helping push up the exchange rate. Of course the opposite could happen.

Anyone know where we can photograph some furniture in a traditional English house setting within 2 or 3 hours travelling time from Bangkok. We would pay for the use of such a place for 1 day.

If anyone listens to Blair they are bonkers. He was largely ( not totally ) responsible for the economic problems in Britain. He has just spouted what the Thais wanted to hear, pocketed his fee and said ' I am Tony Blair get me out of here '. He is an arrogant, self serving disgrace to the UK.

I think that most of the international companies already pay more than 300 baht per day. I am somewhat familiar with Seagate and know for a fact that they pay quite well as compared to Thai companies.
Agreed. A English friend of mine runs ( or did until it flooded ) a factory in the Hi Tech estate. They paid their lowest level worker 350B + bonuses a day. With O/T ( making it a 12 hour day ) they could make 1000 Baht a day including bonuses.
A Thai friend of mine, who runs an abbatoir, pays his Burmese staff 150B for a 12 hour day, and gives them an onsite dormitory to live in - 40 to a room.
Which one of my friends exploits people ?

No matter how this ends there is going to be a lot of blood
Unfortunately I believe you are right. The 'yellows' will not take this lying down

Hey I thought some high up in the Government said the other day that there would be no danger to health from all this. Now yet another contradiction.
I am really geting fed up with all the bull these people come up with. I really do hope these few months will serve as a kick up the ***** for the authorities, but I somehow doubt it.

Ow and the Thai Baht increases is value
Or is it the Euro / Pound / USD weakening........
But it all stinks.

There is little risk to the public health because the government says so.
Thats that.
What a joke !

Greetings to all,
Why are there no contingency plans in place to ensure bottled water, why are there no water tankers ? The answer ? Because the leaders of Thailand are only interested in lining their own pockets.
Big C and Tesco Lotus could see the selling patterns at least one month to two months ago ago, why are there not container ships of bottled water coming here from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia etc - the reason is because no one in Thailand's hierarchy will make any money from it.
A 2 per cent drop in GDP is the the first estimate.....

Given that this matter has clearly been part of the nation's problems for decades doing something now is definitely closing the barn door once the horses are out. This matter should have been addressed decades ago but apparently no one saw enough money in it to pursue it.
Says it all really - I agree totally.

Yes the PM wants to protect Thailands economic zones.....what a joke. She only wants to protect immediate Thai interests. Hitech, where the owners are mostly foreigners, were hung out to dry. All show and no do..

most Bangkokian actually don't understand the flood defenses in this situation. they always experience flooding of rain water ( that due to bad drainage ). it is simply the volume of water, say 10 to 20cm per hour of water fall. then sand bagging could be the best effort.
well, we are in the situation of billion cubic meter of river run-off. this is a huge volume of water with very aggressive momentum. sand bagging becomes a marginal solution. I saw in China, the PLA soldiers lined up huge wall of 50kg sand bags, that last 20 minutes when water arrive. the sand bag we see on the street, 10 minutes ?
From what I have seen in my local area the flood defenses are a joke, they have no chance of withstanding the pressure from tons of water. My condo building backs on to a klong, the condo owners have erected a wooden fence to stop the water, as if that will hold, but even worse is that neighboring land has no defenses whatsoever so we will get the water from them anyway !
Likewise at the Hitech industrial estate the defences there looked good but had no chance of holding against tons of water. As a result millions of dollars worth of business has been lost with the obvious knock on effects. My friends factory there employs only 250 people - they are now out of a job. As for the others that employ many, many more I hate to think.
As with a lot of things here they look good on the surface but underneath it all falls flat.
If the people that mattered in Thailand listened to more up to date Thai's and farang , Thailand would be a more advanced place. But they don't want that.....

I have been transferring cash from abroad every month into my Thai bank - never had a problem in 12 years. I cant understand why people who live here long term use an ATM card from a foreign bank and accept the outrageous costs involved.
