  1. Well let me go up another level. Called to arrange appointment at my dealer where I bought my truck and have had every service done on it there for 6+ years, 80+k km...and they say they need my passport. Are you kidding me. It is covered by insurance so not sure if they need it to submit the paperwork...but I have D/L, Thai ID etc so what is this about passports for everything/anything!
  2. how about we just tell whiney louts like you to move along...back to your welfare state
  3. whats the numbers for Pattaya and Krabi?
  4. Wife asked me last night about some video on Thai SM showing a rig hauling a half container...it had police car escort front and rear, and two vans with spec ops police loaded to the teeth, setting up a perimeter at a stop. They said inside the trailer was a strong box, which inside it had another strong box, then the goods (dont know if that is real or not, but the rest is on video) There was also a backup rig following, I guess to be put into action if the first was disabled. I could only think then to mention maybe they are lookign at some nuclear initiative, and it was plutonium...so this story fits nicely with that theory
  5. bye bye...dont forget your milk duds
  6. Really like Ao Nang the few times we have been there to visit. Have some agents showing me the condos in the area///there certainly are not many at all compared to your phukets, pattayas, hua hins etc....wonder why it is the market there is so small? something keeps people from wanting to buy there? (Thai and foreign)?

    KRABI BUILDERS

Krabi news seems like it all goes into a black hole and is never seen, lol. We have been pondering buying a spot there for a base to travel down south but agents are very lightly interested in showing - mind you I understand now that tyhe high season has everyone running full tilt...we will speak with them again in march/april to see if it is a better time. Trying to get info inm Thai or English, about the experience people have living there is very hard compared to other locations...wonder why/ I know of no builders but suppose it is costly as the town itself is almost like its on an island, long road in Good luck
  8. I have heard there is a new campaign to crackdown on properties bought improperly via shell companies and that Phuket is the first area they are focusing on, has anyone else heard of this ?
  9. I have heard of murphy beds but not murphy doors, what are they? The shop mentioned in Jomtien, perhaps same shop I visited over a decade ago - if so congrats to him for a good run, they had nice beds for sure
  10. Exactly, do you know what you signed. As far as I am concerned, all the window dressing of name address blah blah...all things they have, is a distraction from Part 4, Item 2 ... that is what this is all about.
  11. 24c here last night, perfect and just like every year so far. We did suffer from less rain than average, for the second year in a row...but after 4 years of above average so yea
  12. This was from 2012, still not 100% clear if it was spiked drinks or insecticide sprayed in the room....either one is really not good https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/quebec-sisters-who-died-mysteriously-at-thailand-resort-were-likely-intoxicated-by-pesticides-coroner-says
  13. Silver Lake area would be a potential site, lots of room to develop a "circuit city" to host and support and very close to UTP and Port of Sattahip
  14. I was with you until the dropped food process....lol, at this stage, and at that point - around here if it has fallen it now belongs to whatever finds it
  15. Well learn more everyday. I live out EEC way and we often go to Koh Kut for RnR. Had no idea its sovereignty was contested. Have to look for more about that.
  16. Not everyone is a lackey wage slave til retirement/near death. This century it has been so easy, almost like never before. So many just bought a few BTC and voila, done. They sold in 2010ish for a buck, so do the math if you dropped 1000$ back then and held til 2022-3. Hell build an app that gets traction on play store or apple, another license to print....so many ways
  17. Drove up there last time we dropped in to KS. The drive up is not simple...its doable but at night, heavy rain etc ut would be not the most fun, for me anyway. Obce up there you sort of hope you did not forget anything cause you have to go all the way. back down to get anything, it is empty up there... but yes had a view
  18. Olfactory as well...which cannot be hidden really
  19. So did this end up being an April fool story? What was the outcome...how has the water supply system changed, or planned to change?
  20. So anyone up to dte on where Krabi sits these days in the provincial pecking order of violent crime? Way back I remember seeing (maybe at farangdeath?) that Ranong, of all places, was then the place where, foreigners, were most at risk of encountering violence. Anyone know the update? Is Krabi near the top? Lots of harsh posts in the Krabi thread lol-cringe
  21. I have a leatherman which has many uses, and living in a jungle town, where you are out of town in minutes, I have this at all times...it has many uses - not used for SD as yet, if I do it would likely be to ward off dogs more than anything, civiilized area round here
  22. Taking a one bedroom apartment in the city centre averaged 13,376฿ (8,771,517₫) in Pattaya compared to 10,770฿ (7,062,500₫) in Danang so Dangang came out 119.48% cheaper. Uh......119% ??
  23. LOL you must hail from a relatively weather neutral place...probably on the hot side ? Depending where you are it is a topic for sure. In BC, in the winter months in some regions you need to have a winter rated tire on your vehicle or you cannot drive the roads thru the mountains, as they get hairy at times with wild snow squals...but those tires yo would not want to run from April to October if you were most often in the Vancouver area, you would have two sets and swap
  24. The shade is a good idea, so the same ..but my understanding is all those tire treatments only reduce tire life, drying out the compound if used repeatedly so not sure about that part Bought some Bridgestone AT002... excellent tire with very good grip in dry and wet...which is very important out Trat way, the rain is intense.
