kuma replied to kuma's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Mutt thx for the reply and link.I have seen that exact article on xda and the adb process looks like it would fit the bill. I would prefer a tech to do it though, not familiar enough with it to try first time on a new phone. Will keep looking for that contact. Cheers -

I use many of them, but dont want any of them on this hardware. There do exist many great alternatives as well. -
Have to agree, though I just hosted two visitors, both without a jab, that came, did their ten days qtine, then had the run of the country - and are still running at this moment lol. Not for everyone, ten days of twenty is a no go, but if three months + then maybe, if no jab and wanting a break from all the madness. Jabbed friends have arrived as well, and seem to have a similar experience, but only having to qtine for one day, I believe. (before the latest rule changes). As for not popular anymore - great!

Yea it might seem crazy on the surface - but the exercise is to try and exorcize goog, not stop being tracked...that I figure not possible. I have seen links, even in this thread, on my model, so I do not think all is lost just yet. Thx for the links -
Chanthaburi - Central mall under construction, due 2022
kuma replied to gomangosteen's topic in Eastern Thailand
Just returned from Chumphon / PKK. Both nice spots but do not stack up, imo, to the package here. We bought and put up a small place to have max room for fruit n other garden. As of now have Durian x2 (Monthong n Chanee), Mango x3, limes, pomelo x2, coconut x2, banana x5, papaya, and a few others I may be forgetting plus a load of herbs n veg going as well. Pretty full on work but transitioned to this just in time it seems, as it has been over a year now and what a year it has been - everywhere else, here is sabai as it gets from what I can see.... -

Thx and I hear you on giving goog the slip via Xiaomi, or any android...seems now Huawei is the way to go to bypass - so I will likely be left trying to disable them as much as possible and not sign in, but not sure how it will go. See if anyone else here has input. Cheers and enjoy 22/65 -

Bruno, excellent link thx for posting. Did another longer reply a few minutes back but it seems to have been lost - I would not want to try rooting myself, if going that route would look for a pro. Cheers -

It is worth it imo. Of the 50+ provinces I have visited over 20 years this is the one I picked, hands down, to buy land and hang out - sure was the right decision for us -

This is along the lines of what I would like to do, disable w/o having to root. The focus is the bloatware AND goog apps, goog just b/c I am surprised how much of a chokehold they have on phones and the ability to strip mine them of data. Learning that it is v hard for the laymen to get round their apps. Thx -

I have been watching these tutorials and reading about the steps - but find many places where there are cautions that 'things may not turn out as intended, be sure to have a backup and be able to restore all you delete etc" - I no longer feel up to the task (would have given it a shot in the past) and feel more like finding someone that does this daily and can just quickly execute and be done - and have the tools/knowledge to get around and kinks in the process. One thing is for certain, goog has an absolute chokehold on everything android..... -

Thanks for the reply.I did not as my understanding is that would restore the phone to its original state, ie as it is now...and that is not what I want, I would like to remove many apps that come from the factory. -
Good day I have the above mentioned phone and would like to remove the bloatware, incl all possible goog apps. Wondering if anyone knows of a shop that provides this service. I do not want to try myself The phone is brand new so no data loss issues etc to be concerned with. Cheers

Late to reply but we just had visitors and it is a tit scenario, some places have freely available, some in coffee bags, some not at all. Best to check in advance if a must part of your meal. The places more off the beaten track have more flexibility imo -
Wondering...is that a Xiaomi AQI unit? Did you order that online/ buy it here in Thailand or bring from another location? Do you find it useful/accurate? Cheers

Remodel/Renovation firm (Bathroom, Floors & Kitchen)?
kuma replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Pattaya
Ah to live in the province. A house here is built for 500k, not a kitchen remodel. I still have property in Pattaya I rent out and will remodel soon - from the sounds of this thread I will be bringing a team with me. I mean of course you can pay 500k to remodel a kitchen, but you must be getting some kitchen for that, wow. -

Shootout between Police and Drug Dealers in downtown Chanthaburi 071221

Yes I see now it was not the mass casualty event it would be if it were a US city, lol, but true unfortunately imo. Still, the more sober reports that followed said he was moving thru the market zone at an elevated speed - really a bad place for that, and what a place to decide to take the shot, obvious now since a civilian was hit but hmmm. I was there today and made it thru no injuries so I guess al is back to normal, lol -
News here is a few hours ago police were chasing a group of drug dealers in central CHanthaburi City, and it carried on thru the downtown Nam Phlu market, where at least one bystander was hit by gunfire. Story still developing, apparently they have been captured at this point. If anyone else has more details please update. Ah the serenity of lovely Chan takes a hit with this.

China, I would contend, is a major (and growing) contributor to the issue. Check any air current / aqi site like aqair, and see the prevailing winter winds blowing all that coal residue south each year. It seeems not a coincidence all the aqi readings from Harbin south to Bkk rise each winter, and the Chinese heavy use of coal is a big factor, imo. No one dares mention it thou, for fear of riling the pooh bear and company. On top of that, they are adding an annual amount of coal burning capacity equal to the entire rest of the worlds current burning rate - every year for the forseeable future...this I read so of course it could be all wrong, nothing seems to be able to be taken at face value anymore. But I have had the experience of travelling thru China's interior in a freezing January, and the pall of smoke from coal burning was almost incomprehensible, and that was 2002!
