shahaf mate, if i am not going to give you, i doubt anyone will. Contacts are not easy to come by, usually earned through a little hardship farming Clarias, making expensive mistakes etc etc...
Short cut in farming business...no way~

All this while you are only assuming base on maths regarding the output of your well and submersible pump. There's no a good way to start a commercial farming business. Have you done your homework asking your wife,relatives...checking the market around your area/tambon/province and nearby provinces ? Who are the bulk buyer doing the deliveries/wholesalers/associations/Clarias catfish farm owners within you immediate/nearby vicinities ?
Money can be made and i am making them but there's a lot of things involve in regards to understanding the geographical advantage and what produce to do to optimize output for you gain. A lot of this are involve in the operations, production, weather pattern, market share of the region...so on and so on...
I always say to friends/villagers/neighbours..."Mer khrai mer man" (northern thai language Kum Muang) meaning " to each his own profession". You have 10 rai, i too have 10 rai...but the produce output are not the same. You farm paddy and i farm fishes, same 10 rai but i made 10x more than you. But my capital investment are in the million figures and yours are less than a 100k and you have credits, plant first and pay later...mine are upfront...cash. You can't do fishes like i do and i can't do paddy like you...
Stick to what you know best...sugarcane plantation.
After you got all the facts for doing Clarias in your area, study them to see if it is really feasible...
I will gladly discuss and guide you on how well you should go about farming and selling them.
Cheers...
Well that's fine RBH. But I think you've misunderstood.
My first line of questioning is "is it even possible to farm fish on a large scale relying on well water. If that is a negative, which it sounds like it is, no need for further investigation. Full stop. I may not be the smartest guy around, but I'm not an idiot either. No need to write a condescending post like this. Thanks.
As far as sugarcane goes.....hmmm.....knowing what i know now, I wouldn't advise anyone to go into it without some serious cash to invest. We have 100 rai and it's not enough to live off of. Not just off of farming cane. So we are looking at other options/ideas for what to do with our land that would be more productive.
Canada, I'm sorry if the post sound condescending...It's not my fault, i blame it on the bottle of Lao Khao.
Please read it again and this time in a softer tone and slower pace... Just kind of imagine i am talking to you face to face with hands movement and asking you in an enquiry manner with my hand holding onto my chin.
My sets of questioning are to help me to do a assessment of your vicinities... I was waiting for you to check it out and get back to me. Why ? Because when you hit an obstacle like this "no stream no river or no to an equivalent water source support", it doesn't mean it will not work. My solution to this type of hurdle would be to do rental ponds...Which i did, not because i am short of water supply but i am short of land to further my expansion plan.
I only meant to help you find a solution, not to criticize or try belittling you.
Let me know what you find out and we shall see how best to tackle it.
best regards.

Too risky if you do not have a stream of river nearby... too risky relying on underground water + cost factor.

Your pond needs to hold water at level at least 1.3m minimum for farming pla duk, measuring for the top of mud bed...not measuring depth with hight of mud bed included.
For growth benefits, not recommended to reuse foul water. Does impact on profits.
What is the size of pond and what shape ?

First of all, does your place experience drought, it yes then during drought how low is your water level in the pond...0.5m ? 0.8m ?
I mentioned well are not reliable become you can't see how much water is beneath it...can you ? A water reserve pond allow you to gauge how much water you have because you can see the water level.
During an event of emergency and suddenly your precious and expensive submersible pump fail you, that would be trouble... and without water replacement, your stock mortality rate just climb and climb.
And then there is the cost factor...
My upgraded skill and farming method "Do Not Require" water change... and it is a successful one too.

Now you want my opinion ???
5'000 to a kg, that is not fingerlings...those are fries...
Fingerlings 3" - 4" @ a kg weigth are between numbers 425 - 450.
Good luck... you're on your own now...and fries don't float if they die, they sink...

Another inexpensive way is to install a simple water fountain shooting out from a pvc pipe from a small pump.

I think i know what hedge plant you are referring to... I have the green-yellowish type hedge, up north here in Chiang Rai it is call Thon (Thon as refer to a Plant) Cha Thong.. When planted on wire mesh, it can be trim and shape into animal designs or even shape into alphabet characters. The emerald green type are also call Cha Hokkien here. Go to plant nursery store, they are sold for 2-3 Thb per plant. Or grow your own, just cut a small branch diagonally on the stem and stick it in the ground with some compost.

I was once "picked" from the loooooooooooong row of queue, a free immigration counter just opened as the officer just step in. He spotted me, Thai wife and our kid because me and my wife was maintaining eye contact with him as he move in (with the toothpick still in his mouth, back from lunch ?) He pointed at us and waved us in. I was confused so i showed him 2 Thailand passport and 1 foreign passport... "Ma nee la krub !"
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!

This is our TUK-TUK in Nakhon Sawan. Chinese made CHAMP from the local Dealer [see PIC]. Paid 74,000.00 THB with all accessories [canopy'side wall curtains all round , etc] 107 cc semi-auto ... GREAT unit can carry up to 350kg; fold down panels on rear and both sides; I made my own windscreen later. Took it all the way to CHIANG MAI 3 years ago just after purchase. Made my own wooden seats for 6 persons in rear. Great for shopping and the markets. Went everywhere in the flooding 2 years ago and never missed a beat. I think I was the first FARANG to own one in Nakhon Sawan. AND my WIFE [Thai] and family just love it !!! Although they originally thought I was "MAD" [TingTong] brianlg@@iprimus.com.au NewBikes 004 10x8.jpgNewBikes 005.jpgChamp 001.jpgChamp 004.jpgChamp 003.jpgChamp 005.jpgChampShop 002.jpg

Nice looking clean rig. You got a good deal.
I too have been looking at Tuk Tuks and the prices mentioned are in line. A new one is around $4000 or so. I paid $13,000 for my little Kubota so $4000 for a Tuk Tuk is a good deal for me.
My big concern is getting a Thai license. I can not learn to read or write thai.
Thai driver license have english option and questionairs are in english multiple choice. 50 questions if i can recall.

Well that makes 3 sam lors and Wyms electric motorbike, nice to see your thinking about carbon footprint btw wym.
No Bangkok tuk tuks yet but I didn't think so.
Not me!
Haven't driven a car more than a dozen times in fifteen years.
And electric's only as clean as the source - here mostly coal. Also, transmission/storage wastes the vast majority.
If you must use internal combustion NGV/LPG's the way to go. . .
krisb, it's me... me with electric tricycle and scooter. I just thought that since it is meant for rides around the village and to the farm, i don't need to buy things that are more expensive. Save me money for Changs and Lao Khao.

way to go man.........we got 2 cars and use both, happy with them as well, however no need for a illegal side car on bike. How is yours insured by the way, as motorbike ? as multi purpose vehicle ? Wonder what the insurance is there ? Or is it us car owners who have to put up with the cash when them little illegal vehicles crash into us ?
It is not insured because it can not not be insured , it can not be registered.
But it is not a super bike which flies at high speeds, so while accidents are possible, i doubt one would be through fault of my own.
If there was one and other party insurance refused to pay, i am sure i could find few thousand baht to put metal bars back together and paint it.
And if stopped by police, 500 or 1000 baht fine would fix the problem
And if my little illegal vehicle crashes into you, you are welcome to sue me alt=thumbsup.gif width=25 height=19>
PS. Remind me what happens when little scooter driven by a Thai smashes into you?
Yes i've check with the shop i bought "another electric scooter" from (they import both type from China, petrol & electric), the gasoline tricycle that belongs to whoisyourdaddy and my Electric tricycle can be insured and also registered as road legal with a number plate.
Really? can you post or pm more info on rego please.
Because shop where i bought mine, they use to sell with rego, but stopped and said it was no longer possible
The shop i bought my electric scooter from is in Chiang Rai, no website.
My E-scooter is insured and register with number place as road legal but not my E-tricycle because i only use it as farm vehicle so i didn't see the need.
This E-scooter of mine cost ฿23'000.-
Sorry for going side track off the topic krisb.

Errr...Sorry to intrude~ Mine...
Electric motor : 800w
Battery : 48v 20Ah
Charge once of 5-8hr will travel 40-55km depending on load.
Max load (for this version) : 500kg
Dumpster size : 130cm x 95cm
Max climb : 40°
Max speed full charge (empty, no load) : 50-55kph
Max speed full charge (583kg load including me) : 30-35kph
Distance from home to farm : 830m
Auctioned price i paid on that day : ฿22'000
Delivery : ฿800
Commission : ฿3'000
Made In China.
P.S= That is a big pooch by the way, a 46kg Golden Retriever. The dumpster is not small.
I hate you, lol
MIne is the same in all aspects but not electric and 4 times the price.
Believe me, if i am willing to spend that kind of money you paid, i will prefer yours. The petrol tricycle has a better advantage like a better climb going up a slope road. Mine can only manage 40° with an empty load. But it is only for farm use. So i don't need to spend that kind of money just for going to & fro from home to farm at the distance of only 800m. You got a very nice sam lor mate... Be proud~
