  1. Local address (e.g.: 192.168.1.100) Port (8080) Local Port (8080) Application (Custom - if you can)

    HOWEVER!

8080, 8000 80 etc are scanned by ner'do'wells, so i'd suggest you use a non standard port (if 3BB allows such a thing) Also make sure you change all default passwords ....

3BB NT3BB-4PWN Default Username and Password

You need to know the username and password to login to your 3BB NT3BB-4PWN. All of the default usernames and passwords for the 3BB NT3BB-4PWN are listed below.

    3BB Usernames 3BB Passwords admin 3bb

Enter your username and password in the dialog box that pops up. It looks like this:

Edit (my post broke, your 3bb default username/password is admin/3bb

    -------

    QNAP = admin/admin

Please change these before you do any port forwarding to expose your devices to the outside world thumbsup.gif

  2. I have bno idea what a couple of the posts above are about...

i loaded the malware and norton for android and ran them.....found 1 file.....deleted it and 4 other apps suspected of being vulnerable or something.....anyway, no fix, still the same prob

This is why i stopped posting so much in the internet forum. A skilled person offers a solution based on technical and/or experienced knowledge.

OP basically says "I don't understand you and can't be bothered to google based on your comments as a pointer, now can someone else fix the problem"

Your web browser cannot negotiate SSL - update it, and update your tabs firmware to get a new root certificate bundle!

  3. I'm pressuming this is becasue of the graphics chip failure that Apple refuses to acknowledge, partly becasue they only count failures that occur to product in the US and the rest of the world is just a milch cow for Apple's burgeoning profit.

I had mine replaced at Macintosh Centre at Fortune Plaza 02-642 0400 / [email protected]. Cost for a swap out 17-inch logic board was Bt19,200. I passed on their Bt1,500 examination fee despite their protests that "it might be something else" as I was pretty confident I knew what the problem was.

It took them less than a week to get the new board from Singapore and fit it. I had them remove the HDD when I left the PowerBook with them.

3months guarantee on the new board.

Interesting. Are you referring to the leadless solder being used to attached the chip - which over time and heat can become decoupled from the LB? I had a 12" powerbook with the exact same symptoms. I could get it working by putting some pressure on the GPU........How about running a heatgun over the area to reflow the solder a la xbox fix ?

Did a google, a heatgun is indeed a fix :)

  4. Have you ever seen a wild python in Bangkok?

    Yes
Approximately what part of the city, and what was the area like nearby?

    this tree: https://www.google.ie/maps/@13.8141951,100.6651387,3a,75y,137.96h,105.75t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1spE7AWePjHtwceXpXy1c_Wg!2e0?hl=en
Was it close to a canal, park, or green space?

    have a look for yourself

How big was the python, and what was it doing?

    Very big, sleeping
    What did you do?

Took a few pictures, then ran.

  5. TOT is the Worst routing ever.

    Cat is the Best.

I wish they add he.net singapore transit to the mix and route everything via he.net and then we won't have any routing problems because he.net always chose best route to the destination and they have a global presence almost everywhere.

he.net provides 2000 usd / gigabit on singapore which is pretty cheap compared to others.

Anyone know somebody in high position to convince to buy he.net transit? smile.png

He.net also have what i can only describe as piss poor power problems. At least 4 times in the past 3 years my routing has been black holed because someone forgot to put the 50p in or something.

  6. My only experience with this is that you need a scanner with a light box - not sure i've seen those in the photo processing shops you come across in malls, but it's not impossible to say they don't have them.

    edit.

Oh for the hell of it, i googled "usb slide scanner" - first hit.

  7. Just to throw in an Idea, Which i did with my old white macbook, was to take out the CD drive and replace with a HDD caddy/adapter - this was a 500GB magnetic. I then put a 128GB in the original drive location.

On the OS level, i remounted /Users to be on the 500GB - so the OS and things like /Applications flew, and I still had the storage for my iTunes and iPhoto library.....

  8. Just want to add +1 to "just use 443 only" :)

Seriously in this day and age, if there's an option to encrypt your stuff going over the wire, use it.

My job entails me to do a lot of packet capturing, which i can see very clearly what people are doing.....If you're doing to generate your own keys, please use SHA2 as opposed to any other algorithms.

  9. I was just reading another thread about PC Building. Cooling is going to be very important. The PC will be running for 12 hours a day and I dont run any air con.

Corsair H80i - keeps my OC'd chip below 30 degrees and you have full control over how it acts to heat. Comes with a lovely control panel you can create profiles with for different conditions/seasons.....

  10. Choosing the right parts is the challenge. What will the PC's main purpose be ?

Thanks for all the replies. Its a computer for financial trading. I already have the graphics card. Its a Nvidia Quadro Quad Card. It needs a PCI Slot on motherboard for the graphics card. I would like 2 spare PCI Slots on the motherboard incase I want to fit another graphics card. The processor needs to Mutli core 3GHZ or faster, Hardrive 7200RPM and 1GB Free Space, Memory 4GB or more.

Don't make the mistake I did and plan to do SLI down the road, only to find the motherboard you got does not support SLI :(

Sounds like you need an i5 4760k - you could go i7 for 8 cores, but that depends on your application. Get the K variant which will allow for easy and safe over clocking (as long as you invest in a good cooling solution). 4.5Ghz is easily achievable. For your storage, it's cheap enough to consider SSD's of a decent size. I've two 250GB's raided into a single volume, with a small 60GB SSD acting as a cache for my magnetic media - several terabytes. Also consider 8GB as your absolute minimum memory size, it's dirt cheap.
