TOTnetcall is TOT's SIP service. You need an internet connection to make calls. Think Skype, but for cheap within Thailand calls that can be made from just about any SIP software.

Does anyone know if TOT will enable multiple channels for a single account?

Same thing happened to me when I added a theme. Changed back to the default theme and the passwords came back.

It's not too difficult using QOS in the Tomato firmware. You need a router compatible with Tomato, such as the Linksys WRT54GL which will cost you around 1,500 - 2,000 baht. The Tomato firmware is free to download. If you're completely clueless about networking then it's probably not a good idea to go this route, though it would be the cheapest.

I believe the highest available now in Bangkok is the True 8Mb plan, if you live in the right area. You'll be lucky to get close to that domestic, not a chance for international. They'll give you a modem for a deposit, or you can buy one yourself for around 1,500 baht.
If you're not in Bangkok I don't think you'll find these speeds over ADSL.

I wonder if some clever lad makes these posts simply to compile a list of potential suckers to cheat via PM's. There's certainly no shortage in this thread!
Sorry, but if you have nothing to say about where I can buy some decent fruitcake I think it's better for all of us if you say nothing at all.
[Reson for edit: Beacuase I can]
[Reason for second edit: None]
Lots of fruitcakes around Silom Soi 4 I hear.

I noticed this too, and I can only laugh when they hand the change to the GF because she won't be leaving them squat!

Creating static entries for the Hostgator server IP in your hosts file may help, but it sounds like you have more problems that simply resolving DNS.

Acer 3810T. In the US it's ~$580 from Amazon, in Thailand it's 29,000 baht ~$865.
13.3" screen, wifi, 1.3GHz Core 2, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, 6 - 8 hours per charge, 1.6Kg, Windows Vista Home Premium with free upgrade to Windows 7.
It comes with an international warranty and Acer has many service centers around Thailand.

Maybe you could bring one over for me too?

Simple solution is to block port 25. You should be blocking all outbound ports by default for security reasons, especially ports like 25. And since you don't have an SMTP server onsite, it's not an open relay issue. Doesn't seem like you need port 25 for any computers/servers since you use Google, which also means being on the CBL won't disrupt email communication for you.

CPU:amd x2 4800
MOTHERBOARD: asus a8n-sli premium
GRAPHICS CARD: e-vga 7800gtx 256mb ddr3 ram + a sli (adding a second graphics card)
HARDDRIVE: 2 times 250gb western digital sata 2 in raid 0 mode
POWERPACK:high quality targen 650 watt powerpack
RAM:1GB of branded very high quality ram
SOUNDCARD:creative X-FI
Something also about SATA 2..which i dont understand.
Oh..and given the above specs, would it be possible / worth it to upgrade the graphics card to a quadro ?? And anything else? If so, i could have it sent over.
Thanks again for any help
You can add the quadro. It won't be as fast a newer system with a Q9550 or I7, but it would work. You should add more RAM though.
This page has benchmarks for CPU's, so you can see how your x2 4800+ would perform against a newer CPU.

Edit: My system is silent, and I can overclock the Q9550 to 3.6GHz plus on air, though I keep at stock speeds as I don't usually need the extra performance. It's plenty fast at stock for everything I throw at it. Not sure what you mean by "very reasonable", but I built my system for around 40,000 I think, with 8GB RAM, high end motherboard, high end power supply, good graphics, etc. Not sure what Quadro's are going for in Thailand, so it may run you a bit more or less than 40k for a quality system.

i thought this post was going to be about (something else).

I haven't heard anything, but it makes sense since people sick with the flu only go out at night.

The ReactOs project has now full access of everything Intel knows regarding MS Windows.
I think that would get some serious attention from MS as Intel surely has some information about Windows that they are not privy to share with just anyone. Perhaps Intel isn't sharing everything.

And I two months I going to give the option for 10 Baht to all Thai computer builders....
What does that mean? If this is the same thing I tried years ago, I'm pretty sure it's FOSS. Why would anyone give you even 1 baht?

I won't be going back if it's held in the same location.
Something a bit greener would have been nice, but I'm aware there's limited green space in Bangkok. A driving range might work

Are you in Thailand? No reason to be using it here. Will only slow you down as it blocks so many addresses for no reason.
Sorry can't help about the issue, haven't used it since I got here.

Hi Roy. It was late so I was probably a bit harsh on the site. My comment about "thai style" graphic designer was in regards to the sites UI, but it was worded badly. I have nothing against Thai graphic designers, I had some good work done here myself.
Gave it another go just now and noticed a couple of things using Firefox 3.5
1. Within Showtimes, the left Movie Finder and Movie Showtimes areas combined into a single query. Causes a bit of confusion if you had originally selected one theater group in the Movie Finder for the first query, then a different theater (or a theater from a different group?) in Movie Showtimes for the second query. In this case it displays no results. You must manually clear one of the search areas to get expected (or any) results.
2. What is the box for underneath Movie By Location? It appears to search for theater name but isn't labeled and behaves differently depending on if you type something and click search or type something and press the enter key. Out of curiosity I just checked with IE and pressing the enter key didn't do anything... can't really figure out what the intended function is here.
I think the design is actually pretty nice, now that I figured out it's the behavior of the elements that was throwing me off when i was in a hurry.

In Firefox go to Tools, Options, Advanced, General, 6th check box "Check my spelling as I type".

I remember seeing quite a few developer positions on the jobs page a few months ago and being somewhat excited that they were putting more resources into the site. I never imagined this would be the result. Apparently they decide to make the site more "Thai" by adding a lot of flash, making what should be drop down menus into pop-up windows of sort, and completely ignoring the UI and IA processes. For whatever reason Thai's have decided that Google is wrong and sanook.com and the like are right. At best I'd say the new site UI was designed by some pretty junior developer or "Thai style" graphic designer. I now just go straight to majorcineplex.com, which is a nightmare itself, but less so than movieseer at this point.

My current wife of over 4 years, she happened to work at a bar, but she was new there so I know she wasn't used and abused like most of the others I've seen. I was fairly regular there so I knew the new ones from the old, and would NEVER have married one of the ladies working in the business for years. Find a fresh one and you have a great chance of a long and happy marriage. Same as shopping for food, buy fresh and you'll enjoy your meal that much more. It's not rocket science!

For the layman like me, I have TT&T internet connection, it suppose to be 3 gig (hope thats the right word), when I do a speed test to a (PINGER- is what I call it), I always get a speed of around 2.7 or 2700kbps, give or take a bit.
You have a 3Mb connection, so 2.7Mb, or 2,700kbps is appropriate for local (within Thailand) bandwidth
When I do the same speed test to the thai visa doolackey, I get speeds of about 1.6-1.8 or 1600 to 1800kbps.Thaivisa is hosted internationally, so 1.6Mb is typical as well (and would actually make some people envious).
So whats the deal, who do I have to tune up? Things seem slow, <deleted>, does it all mean.Websites shouldn't be slow with 1Mb + connection. Perhaps your computer is a bit long in the tooth.

Win Vista and Win 7 use quite a bit more memory than XP, when it's available, and makes running many apps much smoother. Windows 32 bit is limited to 3.2GB of usable memory.
I have my taskbar set 3 levels high as I usually have 10 or more different app windows open, along with 20 - 40 firefox browsers with many tabs each. I generally use 2.5 - 4.5GB on my 8GB system just for the desktop apps, then once I start some virtual machines any free memory is used pretty quickly. Memory is dirt cheap these days, so there's really no point in purchasing less than 4GB. For this reason alone, you should go with 64 bit Vista on a new PC and you'll get you're free upgrade to Windows 7. Your main problem will be finding a computer with 64 bit Vista here in Thailand as I usually see 32 bit versions on computers at Pantip and Fortune.
Most 32 bit software will run without problems, but you some software needs to be updated to work properly.
Want to know if my 32bit software will run if buy new PC with 64 bit Vista.Which software? A search on google should reveal if your software runs on 64 bit Vista or not. If not you could contact the developer through their website if they don't mention anything in their system requirements.

As was mentioned, you can pickup a DVD player that will play divx, xvid, etc., from a DVD or USB flash drive. You can find the generic ones for around 1,000 baht, name brands in the 2,000+ range. Just load a DVD or USB flash drive with a few of the files you want to play and bring them to the store to test out compatibility with the different players.
