  1. No experience in Chiang Mai

But have you tried the gold shops? In my experience they usually have a guy on site who does this work (kind of a given if they want to sell the gold cases). Worst case scenario switching out for a new gold housing wont be too costly though weights do vary but the value of your old one offsets against it. But Ive seen these guys forming up the perspex with heat, beggars belief the cant replace for you.

You can negotiate with a builder for new condo on mortgage for 0%. But basically it is a payment plan over three years. I was offered  a few in Pattaya before covid. Three years payment plan and you move in after paying the first payment. No interest.

Let the Thai person get a mortgage but you promise to pay for it.

If things go wrong, you just go.

It is worth noting that the Pattaya News article was published at 17:45 today - nearly 6 hours after what I have always believed to be the noon deadline for April Fool jokes. Bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, I think! Or maybe the noon deadline for April Fool jokes doesn't apply in LOS??

    Certainly not

    TOT enjoys it year round

  4. Once, in Cambodia the immo stamped me valid to the right date but the preceeding YEAR! (lord knows just how long he'd been doing that - and to how many) When I pointed it out to him the steward's enquiry that ensued, with just about every badge bearing uniform in the airport involved, left me with the offending date looking like it had been scribbled out of a 6 year old's homework and a correct date stamped next to it :shock1:.

Fearing the possible ramifications on departure I asked for it to as least be signed to authenticate the mess. Of course no one wanted to lay claim to the fiasco so off I went.

Anyhoo not the merest flicker of interest at departure.

  5. Pantomimes do actually entertain children though

This serves only to conjure the image of countless government employees passing around 100's of thousands of photocopied papers for diligent rubber stamping. (to absolutely NO avail)

As for battery drain etc I bought with me a 2nd (sterile) phone with all permissions off specifically for Morchana install. Been switched off since installed, opened only for day 5 debacle, now off again for the remaining duration of stay.

  6. The Morchana shines thru with inept design. The notice to upload day5 test results lays behind the 'notification' bell icon which of course give no indication of a receive (pending) notification. Clicking the link therein releases you into a whole new game of guesswork devoid of any instructions

Presumed Lab # to be the serial # on LFT

Release date - who would know! Curiously nothing appears as you type to this box and wont send without its completion!! Type a date in "blind" and it goes.

Photo again no mention of requirements (Ive read of talk about photos of passport).

Usual delusional nonsense of gov depts devolving app creation to school children (presumably the offspring of some favoured departmental big Boss)
