  1. It seems to be every other day these news. A foreigner murdered by a local(which in this case it is not proven, but if it is 'the usual business' , I assume it is the case.)

Very sad the way thailand is going down the drains, also because they rely so much on tourists and foreigners economically.

I once wished to go to thailand to live, but after reading this forum, I would never do it. In fact , I would not even go there on holiday, I think.

It seems like a society gone mentally ill.

On one hand they do anything to appear white, on the other hand there is a real hatred for foreigners.

Now, if i was male, I would NEVER marry a thai, because how can you be really sure?

Don't know what the attitudes towards white females are, but there sure are a lot of attacks on those, too.

Luckily, Asia is large and there are plenty other countries to choose from. As it is now, Thailand would be at the very bottom of my list. Such a beautiful country, but such ugly mentality. Really sad.

I've never had problems here. But then again I try to stay away from the bars(never met my wife there). But even doing that you can't stop everything. It's just generally more dangerous here than back home.

You don't need to meet your wife in a Bar to get in trouble with a Thai woman, bad women can be anywhere in this country, even in middle class or Hiso.

Behind the famous THai smile, Thailand is the land of hypocrisy, falseness and greediness. Beware, It is more dangerous here because you feel confortable, safe and dream everyone is kind but it is not the paradise... Wake up, dream is over !

  2. RIP, hope they can find his name and contact his family shortly.

One more farang killed with gun, sad end for the poor guy, nobody desserve to finish his life by this way !

Sometimes I feel so angry and upset about this country where the justice is hard to be respected...

  3. 5 AM in morning, might be drunk...

I assume it is the young man in the blue shirt who is being arrested and it is obvious that he shows no contrition whatsoever for what has happened.

I think if I were a common Thai that I would urge everyone that I knew to boycott purchasing Red Bull until justice has been done; and the expatriate members of TV who are aware and consume the product should do so also.

I don't drink this (red) bullshit drink but you are correct, boycott is the best way...

  4. Red Bull scion arrested in deadly hit-and-run

Bangkok, Sept 3, 2012 (AFP) - Thai police have arrested the Ferrari-driving grandson of the co-creator of the Red Bull energy drink on suspicion of killing a policeman in a hit-and-run collision on Monday, officials said.

The suspect, 27-year-old Worayuth Yoovidhya, is accused of hitting the police officer, who was on a motorcycle, and dragging the body about 100 metres (330 feet) down a main road at around dawn in the capital Bangkok.

"We traced the gasoline trail which leaked onto the road until it led us to the house with the Ferrari," said police Lieutenant Colonel Viradol Thubthimdee of Thonglor police station, where Worayuth was taken for questioning.

"He will be charged with causing death by driving and failing to stop and inform the authorities, with a maximum penalty of 10 years' imprisonment and a fine," Viradol said, adding that Worayuth denied the accusation.

His grandfather Chaleo Yoovidhya was one of Thailand's richest men thanks to the global success of the Red Bull empire that he co-founded with Austrian Dietrich Mateschitz in the 1980s. Chaleo died in March aged 89.

    Worayuth denied the accusation :

Maybe it is the gardener of the house who stole and drove the car for a fun ride ???

    Another Thai story.

    RIP to the poor victim.

  5. How many lives has this unscrupulous individual ruined? How many has he given a death sentence through his activities? Should he receive anything less than a death sentence? If he has infected multiple women with the disease with which he is infected then he is little more than a serial killer dishing out a slow death to his victims. Tie him to a x-frame and let his victims decide his punishment.

A boat and a cement bag...

  6. "A senior official denied any links to terrorism"

So what it is ? Pickpockets ? offtopic.gif

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has rejected the accusations that Tehran was behind them. "Iran condemns all acts of terrorism,"

They are Iranian citizen in vacation in Thailand with C4, grenades, etc offtopic2.gif

Mr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, nobody believe you, Everyone know that you financially support terrorism since decade...

  7. To answer this question, you should let us know if you divorced already or not ?

If not, does your wife is working and have regular income ? How much ?

Where did you live with her ? your home ? Did you use to give her allowance while married ?

At this step, if your have not divorce yet, who asked the divorce ? is she agree ? Did she sue you ?

You might not have to pay alimony but she can request money to accept to divorce.

Divorce in Thailand by mutual consent can be easy but a nigthmare with a woman interested by money....

  8. The Singaporean allegedly fled the crime scene in a BMW 325i that he had bought for his wife. He had previously also bought her luxury gifts and is believed to have given her an allowance of 70,000 baht ($2,900) every month, The New Paper reported.

    Link

Married her, bought her a 325i and passed her 70k baht per month, plus luxury gifts and she's b*nging another guy. Of course murder is wrong, but he should have iced the chick. Call this a crime of passion, the escapee serves 30 days and is set free.

question is was the man involved all alone? was he a long term boy friend laughing about the money they were squeasing out of this poor singapore lad.

i have to say if people play with fire and so on.....

the woman is just as much to blame though have to put myself in the singapore mans position.

he waited outside ear wigging on them for 30 minutes till his anger broke.

now if i was the man in bed then i would be the one to front him.

even if his attension was to stab the women maybe during the fight it was just first come at him first served.

on the other hand if this man was just some poor bloke who did not know she was married and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time then it is a very uinfortunate thing and the woman should face charges though i doubt there is a charge for cheating and aggravting murder.

there again how many of these stories are there out there.

i hope it sends a message out to these thai women who have a forang sponser and a thai boy friend alwys been by her side.

if u cannot be good be carefull.!!

Probably quite true. How many foreigners are abroad who have set up thier thai wives or intended wives in a home and are sending monthly payments thinking they are faithfully establishing the home enviroment pending hubby moving across. When all along she and the thai boyfriend are living comfortably on his hard work. You hear a number of stories like this (apart from the murder) happening in Thailand.

This kind of story also happen between Thai people. How many Thai rich guy have a young mianoi that they take care (condo, car, monthly allowance) and the young b.tch have one or more geeks ?

You can't trust any Thai woman, don't expect too much and you won't be desapointed.

Even you are rich, don't give her too much money, then if she stay with you, you will know it is not for your wallet...

And if you still want to take care in a very good way, keep everything under your name (car, condo, etc) so she will always know that she will lose everything if she leave you...

Good luck to the SIN guy.

  9. sorry mods for going off topic, but i needed to say bye bye ,

  10. Announcement of Warning on Flooding Situation in Bangkok (19/10/2011)

Since there have been some complications upon the operation of the dykes at Khlong 3, Khlong 4, Khlong 5 and Khlong 6 of Pathumthani Province imposing further extents of the problems as the volume of over flowing floods from the above Khlongs would combine with the mass volume of the flood from the northern parts of Bangkok resulting the total volume of more than 1,200 million cubic meters. The massive volume of the flood would over flow into the Rangsit Plain affecting the dykes protecting the City of Bangkok and, consequently, the following districts could be inundated:

    1. Sai Mai District

    2. Khlong Sam Wa District

    3. Bang Khen District

    4. Nong Chok District

    5. Min Buri District

    6. Lad Kra Bang District

    7. Kan Na Yao District

Hence, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) informs the above situation of the flood and requests the general public to follow the situation very closely, remain calm and prepare the relocation of belongings including replacing electrical outlets to a higher level. BMA will report the development of the situation and issue announcement every three hours so the public could be instructed and prepare appropriate measures accordingly.

BMA would like the general public to be assured that the administration will perform our tasks with the utmost accountability. Furthermore, the administration has already devised the evacuation and mitigation plan for the public which could be further consulted at www.bangkok.go.th and the offices of the above districts or at the Center of the Protection and Flood Relief Operation, BMA tel. no. 1555

    Kan Na Yao District

Tonight, Offical of the government warned people and talked about a flooding of 1 M to 1,2 M of water, later Chanel 3 talked about 1,5 M to 2 Meters.

I can't imagine 2 M of water in my area as it the door to RAMA9, ratchada and the city center...

  11. Parent extension

I am on extension of stay based on a 3 Millions "investment" Visa (O visa) since 7 years.

Since I have now 2 kids with Thai national but divorced, is that possible to convert my extension of stay from "investment" to "Parent support kids" without issuing a new visa ?

I have documents from Thai family court who clearly prove that I support my kids, share parental power and custody.

In that case, I am wondering if I need to show some money on a Thai bank (amount ?) or need to show any income from abroad as I don't work in Thailand.

    Thank you.

  12. the murderer (Jim Birksulan) has just been released on bail ...

    french link : http://lci.tf1.fr/fi...te-6681152.html

The murderer tried to escape from Thailand and was stopped at cambodian border. Victim wife's try to convince the judge to send him back to jail...

  13. There is NO WAY you will get a conventional credit type card as you would in the west.

Absolute rubbish...I have had an "conventional" SCB credit card for nearly 10 years and got it about 6 weeks after arriving in country to start work.

Likewise, I am retired, my only income is my pension, I have never worked in Thailand so don't have, or need a work permit, I was invited to apply for the Thai Amex Card, I did, and it was approved with a credit limit in excess of 300,000 Baht, certainly enough for my needs.

4 years ago, I used to applied for an AMEX and it was refused as I don't have a work permit.

I have an AMEX in my own country and spend an average of 4000 USD/month !

I am wondering how did you filed the AMEX form ?

    Thanks.

  14. Sorry, but I can't agree with the pilots' actions if it all went down as reported in the article.

If these men went through all the security checks, then they should have been allowed to fly. The US is a free country where freedom of religion is a basic right.

The general public is generally afraid of young black men with lots of bling and young white men with shaved heads and tattoos. (This is backed up by several studies.) So do we start banning them from flights, too? None of them has recently tried to blow up a plane, true, but many men of this demographic do violence every day.

If we continue to spiral into demonizing all things Islam, we will push many more Muslims into the camp where they believe Islam is under attack by the West and become soldiers against us.

I agree with what you say. However when Westerner is in Arab country they are forced to comply with local laws, rules, traditions and regulations. Being aware of how public perceives the "religious" islamic look, mind you created by the Muslims due to their actions worldwide, i do not see a problem but applying basic rules when in public.

France and Europe have introduced some laws in regards to that.

The other groups you mentioned such as young black men with lots of bling and young white men with shaved heads and tattoos, while they do not get thrown off the airplane, they do get stopped and checked by the police on every single occasion.

Those groups are know for street violence and are singled out on the streets. Muslims known for terror and blowing up planes, so they get singled out when on the plane.

What if they were planning to blow up the plane? i am sure the lives of 300 or so people is worth little more then embarrassment of 2.

PS. So far the only story is their story of events with no evidence to support any of what they claim.

PPS. Airline did offer compensation and accomodation

    100% agree with you...

  15. Do you need property to have the yellow tb? Or just the paperwork noted on post number 1?

Silly me, of course I forgot to mention that copy of wife's tabien baan is required. The key doc, actually.

    Otherwise NO yellow tabien baan.

    I will edit my OP.

edit: I can't edit OP. Shucks. Can a mod put it in?

I have a yellow Tambian baan and I am not married.....

    Are you a condo owner?

For my case, I got the yellow one without beeing married but I own a condo and showed the documents from land department when applied at Ampur.

I use the Thai ID number of the TB in many ways such :

    .On Thai driving licence

.On birth certificate of my kids

I also show the Yellow TB every year when I renew my visa, it is prove my residence in Thailand and exact address.

By the way, I am curious to know if I lose the yellow TB if I sale my condo, I guess Yes.

  16. It's time for crackdown Red shirts as soon as possible for avoid long days of urban guerilla and lot of civilian victims :D
