  1. I dont know if I should laugh or cry at that story .... such courage to hit someone on his knees , typical local "wanabee" though guy ... This is a disgrace and shame for Thailand, knowing the Russian tourists numbers is very high , such story will go around on Russian TV , not good for Phuket or Thailand in general.

Typical Thai story... shame for Thai people, as bad girls are all around in this country...

And Thai guy always the same, come alone with a gun or a knife, or come with friends for help, they are so courageous as usual....

  2. Depends a bit on the office, but shared custody should be fine. Especially since you both officially live at the same address.

(I think you pay child support, not custody smile.png)

    Yeah child support !

I am a bit stress about this CUSTODY matter crazy.gif

By the way, Immigration officer told me that I should bring the child for the extension of stay application, is that an obligation as she is going to school whole week ??

  3. You will need proof that you have custody of the child to get the extension.

Any nearby consulate or embassy is good for the single entry. Forget Manila.

Orriginal plus copy of birth certificate.

    Thank you for information.

By custody, you mean sole custody or can be share with the mom ?

Actually my kid live part time with me and I also pay a monthly child custody to the mom.

Kid and I are on the same Tabian baan address but we have separate book (blue and yellow).

  4. Dear all,

I am in the same situation as this topic but currently living in Thailand :

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/468307-non-immigrant-o-visa-divorced-but-have-child/

I am going to apply for the non immigrant "0" but wondering which country around Thailand will give me the best service. Anyone have tried the Thai embassy in Manila ?

By the way, which documents are required by the Royal Thai embassy ?

Only child birth certificate ? Need to show original one or just a copy is necessary ?

Do I need to show copy of mom id card ?

I got all the requirement for the extension of stay at immigration bureau in Bangkok (uploading the document now) but don't know the requirement documents for the 90 days single VISA....

If anyone can help, it will be greatly appreciated, thanks

  5. What an idea to move to Thailand... you can marry your thai gf here and take her to Singapore. There she can find some job and a better future than in Thailand where is hard to find a job for a foreigner.

Now your relationship is good because you can support her, what will happen the day you don't have anymore income...

Just a point you should consider as an advise.

And one more thing, if you marry, I suggest you to make a prenuptial aggreement, this is very important...

    Good luck

  6. I am wondering if you can keep the benefit of the extension of stay if you divorce from your thai wife...

Does it will be depend if you share the parental power with the mom ?

Interesting question as the number of divorces between mix couple is quite high...

No. And most offices have you sign an understanding of this during the extension of stay application. When the reason for the extension ends the extension must be immediately canceled and you must either obtain another type extension or depart.

Yes true if the reason of the extension is the marriage but what about asking the extension based on the child ?

  7. thank you for your replies,

because we are thinking of getting married i don't want to go through the court process.

so my options at the moment are to stay on a torist visa or change to a single type-O which is only 3 months ?

would i be able to get a 1 year extension to either types of visa once married ?

if we get married i then become legal father ? would i be able to extend on basis of thai child still and show 400,000 in a bank or would i have to show 800,000 on basis of marriage ?

If you later marry the mother, it will automatically legitimate the child as your kid, no need a court process, especially if the child has your family name and you are already registered as the father on birth certificate.

  8. In short: You will be subjected to the same long-term visa requirements as anyone "without child".

If it were otherwise, any Farang with Visa-Problems in general would go the route "of having a child with a Thai-National" to eliminate future Visa-Problems.

Thai-Immigration is a cumbersome affair, and many Farangs would like to have it easier to stay in Thailand, but any notion to make a long-term stay in Thailand easier by becoming a father, is an illusion.

It is known to Thai-Imigration, that making a baby is a relatively easy process, and therefore exclude it from visa-considerations. Rightly so. Especially if the offspring was produced before any sort of marriage!!

DNA- Tests are not common in rural Thailand yet. And if they were, many a dissapointements would be the result of it.

    Cheers.

DNA testing in Thailand takes place at only two hospitals both in Bangkok and I have no idea what they will charge. I know only that one is the 'police' hospital. A DNA test to prove that you are the father may (don't know for certain) be required when applying for a British Passport for your child. This may or may not be your intention?coffee1.gif

Both hospitals are Police hospital (rajdamri road) and Bumrumgrad (suk soi 3). Police hospital cost was around 15-25K B, bumrumgrad around 30-40K. Must wait around 3 weeks for result.

The certificate (write in Thai) from Police hospital is accepted by most Ampur in Bangkok.

  9. But maintaining the existing fleet of elderly aircraft, and upgrading the cabins to modern-era standards, costs even more doesn't it ? And having been in-service with other airlines for some years now, the A380's running-costs should be well-known, and fully-expected. wink.png

Thai Airways should be focused on keeping all its fleet in-the-air, and earning revenue, no plane makes a profit standing on the ground so utlilisation is key, then look at cutting overheads where it doesn't degrade the passenger-experience, finally on eliminating all those pesky free-tickets ... Oops, just spotted the flaw in my strategy. whistling.gif

BKK - Hong Kong flight is not suitable for A380, they are just training the pilots on a short flight I guess.

This Aircraft is mainly use for intercontinental main routes like Europe, Australia,USA by Japan to bring a lot of tourists.

I guess the maintenance cost on a old 747-400 and fuel is quite more expensive than an A380 and who still want to fly on this old aircraft ? not me at all.

  10. Yeah, never contact her again. Crazy Thai woman can be very dangerous and they do not forgive easily, especially if she lost face in front family and friends.

Even she find a new dude with enough money, she might still want to revenge and do something bad to you, be careful.

I know some story about a Thai girl asking new boyfriend to hit ex-boyfriend as they are very good to manipulate people and make a story.

So, change phone and location, avoid your friends she know for a while.

If she know the hospital you go, don't give them your new address, she might ask them...

Believe me, crazy woman here can really make you headache, I know the subject very well.

  11. When reading this article, I remember the article of a few weeks ago about the Falang (British Gentleman) shot outside of his house after riding home on his motorcycle late at night. I remember reading the initial comments on that article when it first came out...that Thailand is becoming violent...that it is not safe for a Falang in Thailand...that it was gang related...it was road rage....that TiT and they will never catch the killers.

And then the police determined it was the wife who hired people to gun down her husband and made arrests.

I don't presume to know what happened here. But it seems to me that this murder was very emotional. The victim was shot in the mouth. The victim was stripped and left naked except for underwear. The body was moved by three people. You don't do this if you're just going to rob someone. The murderers of the guy on the bike...they didn't shoot him in the head execution style. They jumped out of the bushes and hit wherever they could with their guns. Someone clearly had a beef with the deceased (RIP); it's not "random" violence that could happen to anyone. The deceased made an enemy with someone.

The killers could be Thai. The killers could be Falang. I don't know. But it's like this...when dealing with issues of money...I always thought that the Falangs are more dangerous to Falangs. A Thai can feed on Thai and Falang. A Falang can only feed on another Falang.

Everyone forgot this case, but it was just one year ago :

    http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2011/09/04/national/Two-held-in-alleged-murder-of-Frenchman-over-motor-30164456.html

Killed for a motorbike deal !

The victim had kids and wife, so sad story also.
