1. I watched this earlier at 1st I thought it was James May walking across until he made his slope remark.

The BBC doesn't take kindly to remarks like that, but yet they aired it.

I think it was a bit out of order but with my British humour I did a chuckle only at his gall to come out with that..

There will be more on this I can guarantee, he will get his arse kicked and so will the editor.

  2. I took this using my telephone earlier . . .

No brand and model of the phone? It looks nice but I am reading this on a cell phone I wonder if it wil look nice on a monitor.

It's tethered to a phone via WiFi. The phone was attached to a Pentax K-3 and the Pentax K-3 was attached to a legendary 1970's manual focus 135mm prime lens.

    Handheld at f/5.6.

Sneaky lol, I was just about to ask what telephone.

  3. So many people complained about oil splashes on the sensor, which when buying a brand new product at that price from a reputable brand is totally unacceptable IMO.

It's not just limited to China though it's a worldwide problem ask any D600 owner.

Apparently it needs wearing in where you take over 1-2,000 photos and then send it off to have the sensor cleaned only for it to happen again once you receive it back.

It's a defective product and should have been recalled sooner.

Some more ... Mae Fah Luang University 'walking street', Chiang Rai, last night.

Some great shots on this thread by all. I haven't bothered using any likes on this thread, I just wanted to browse, but I felt I had to pull this one particular photo up.

For me this is one of them shots in time that was took at the exact optimal split second that would have never been captured the same just a few hundreds/thousands of a second later.

Forget sharpness, pixel peeping or whatever device or lens it was took with.

When a photo captures your eye and makes you observe it for a long time and then go back to it and have a 2nd and also a 3rd look, that's when you know it's a winner.

For me this photo is 'pure gold' and I congratulate you on capturing it.

I would also like to know the story behind it.

    Excellent.

  5. They are available. But before you put it on your dog, put it on yourself and if you have the "gonads" press the button. If you want to do it to any animal and think that it's aceptable then you shouldn't own the animal. Or better yet, wrao iut around your "gonads" and press the button!

Read the opening post. I do not have a dog. It is for my friend's dogs who have taken to howling all night.

Could you please state where they are available, thank you.

Considering dogs evolved from the wolf did your friend ever think about this before buying it?

Tell him not to bother with the dog collar but sell the dog to someone else who will care for it.

He can use the money to have the penis removed from his forehead.

  6. If Apple computers (which are PC motherboards with an intel processor) are so great.

Why don't NASA use OSX or Macs to guide stuff in to space, why don't the FBI/CIA use them to track criminals etc...

OSX Maverics can be installed easily on most new PC's for a fraction of the cost of buying a Mac and run windows and Linux too.

The way I look at it is, why buy a plain white Prada T-shirt for 7500 baht when you can buy a plain white T-shirt for 60 baht.

Both serve the same purpose but the 60 baht shirt will probably be more rugged.

  7. Point and shoot cams are still relatively small to carry around and can produce some decent results, especially the new ones.

I am not that well up on new phones and how well they take pics but I doubt any would be capable of bokeh and depth of field like this.

This is one from a 6MP Fuji F650 8 years old,

P.S. It's not a great pic just something I took sat on a bench drinking beer in the sticks in the middle of a bike ride.

  8. FOUND by a friendly technician at IT House (an Apple repair shop) in Phantip. DDR3L memory is very scarce right now since it is only appearing in new model computers (mine a Lenovo S410P. My sincere thanks to IT House for their exhaustive search for the memory. Of course, the price was expensive for the 4GB- 2,500 THB.

Yeah that lovely guy charged you more than double the price they sell for, what a lovely guy.

Have you ran the free program cpu-z to see what he actually put in there?

If something is appearing in new model computers, the last thing it will be is rare.

EDIT: sorry, I'm being a dick there. I should <deleted> and just read threads till I have something constructive to say.

    My apologies.

  9. What sort of camera? DSLR on tripod?

Expensive pocket cam, I forced it's lense with some electrical wires on the bridge itself. 30 second exposure F11 and low ISO.

What do you mean forced the lens with electrical wires?

I recently accquired a better camera or lens that pairs up with a cell phone so the pics i take are getting better but i also encountered many new settings that i am not familiar with.

The day where the technology of the camera is going to be so good that even blind people can take good pictures is approaching soon. Camera snobs are going to suffer.

I guess you never used to watch The A-Team whistling.gif

  10. The only possible way is using an abrasive paste with a polishing wheel like what they use on cars.

You may need to use an orbital sander on it with rougher grade abrasive papers and gradually work down to less abrasive and then polish it.

Other than that it's pretty much fuc_ked.

P.S If anyone turns up with an angle grinder send them back home.

  11. Just bought another new lense have we? whistling.gif

There are some good bargains to be had sometimes.

It's so easy these days to just click buy, it just feels good.

My last purchase was a 10.5mm fisheye, now I need to add a tokina 11-16 to that for rectilinear wide angles.
