What irony, the statue of lady Justice wearing a blindfold....here in Thailand, the hub of selective prosecution and justice.
I wonder why they don't have a police crackdown with massive fines on lorries and pick-ups belching out vast amounts of black smoke, seen everywhere on Thai roads, weaving in and out of traffic. Impound any vehicle that doesn't meet emission standards.
Blindfold should be over the mouth.....

Putting your arm into a cage with any wild animal is plain stupidity, so he was carrying a knife on him & cut his own arm off to break free? The picture of him looked like he still had most of his arm, maybe mauled his hand, whatever happened I'm sure it must of been horrific & hope he gets swift medical assistance, hope he has travel insurance.....

Have you even watched the video? You are spouting utter drivel. It was the performance being filmed, not the Chinese. If they didn't want to be filmed as part of the performance they could have easily moved on. The young Chinese guy was far more confrontational than the English chap.
Exactly...

I've only ever heard someone hanging themselves with there hands tied in Thailand, why would you tie your hands behind your back before hanging? Or is it just in case you change your mind or do you automatically try to pull yourself up (grabbing rope) etc.

Methinks Chuwit has a death wish.
He really is beginning to push his luck.
Yeh I'm thinking the same, if he's not careful, he'll end up in the Klong with his hands tied behind his back & a bag over his head to make it look like a suicide.......

I'm sorry to say but I just don't get it, a few years ago a thai friend of mine asked if I would be joining a large group of thais & farings to go down on the beach to clear up all the plastic bottles, old fishing nets & all the other trash etc, I told her that I don't fly 5000 miles across the world to pick up other peoples deliberately discarded trash, there's enough of it in my own country..........Either educate, give out harsh fines for littering or supply more bins, all of above if possible!!!

Let me counter this tail of woe. First off he was driving without a license. Before saying the police stole his license you have to ask yourself what is their motivation. There is none. On the contrary, the police after doing a search of his belongings at the accident and subsequent search at his residence (smile), what more would they like to do but hand over this case to the UK embassy. What I am not hearing from the family is that Grandpa had a valid motorbike license from the UK and had been driving a motorbike all his life. Before coming to Thailand did he have an international driver's license, in the case that he had an expired Thai driver's license (Covid). This is giving him the benefit of the doubt that he ever had a Thai motorcycle license in the first place. Sorry, sending in a family photo of grandpa and his "smug" look photo does nothing for me. I think the "nanny state/sel-entitled" UK family should blame "smug" grandpa for their "traumatic" ordeal. Anyways one should be asking how did Grandpa manage to get 3 months holiday every year since the age of 51. Hmmm, grandpaa may be on to something.
I've been doing the same as the deceased since 2004, 7 months in the u.k & the rest traveling in Asia, how did I do it? Ground Maintenance (Seasonal) im not onto anything, its just a fact that nothing grows much in the winter months......

I wonder if the bike was his or was it rented? Ide assume it was rented, so who ever he rented the bike from would have his details etc, if say he borrowed the bike from a friend they would also know, or was it his own bike? Was it registered in his name etc? I've been doing exactly the same as this poor chap, but I always keep my bike licence, insurance etc on me at all times just in case of an accident or being stopped by the police etc, its sad what has happened & more so when the family is left in limbo......
Just a thought, he may have just popped out to get some cigarettes etc & forgot to take any i.d etc.......

How did Somchai make it to 71 years?
I doubt that Somchai raced like mad on his Honda Wave 110 ccm.
Tell me prejudiced but 27yr old driver, pickup with flatbed shiny rims?
"claimed that he was driving normally" what he considers normally?
The Thai article says the right lane where the pickup drove was for U-turn?
Yeh I'm thinking the same, the old boy has probably been doing this all his life & I've noticed these lowered pick ups with loud smokey exhausts drive like idiots & i had one come from nowhere at speed from behind me on my bike & was so close to me, I don't know if it was deliberate or just wasn't paying attention (on phone etc)......

The first and third question I just uploaded my passport page again, not sure about the second as I used my wife's ID. Can't see why you couldn't use a photo off your phone, I had a passport photo which I scanned with my phone and uploaded. Applied Friday and got confirmation yesterday. Didn't realise you just get a piece of paper now instead of a visa in your passport ????.
Yeh I had to a similar thing to get mine, the site needs updating to iron out all the problems.....
