Do any of the Thai airlines allow you to bring a motorcycle helmet into the cabin along with a small laptop bag?

I'm travelling to Koh Phangan and am assuming that I won't be able to acquire a proper helmet on the island? So my plan is to purchase one in Bangkok and fly with it.

I've brought a full face helmet as carry on luggage before  from the u.k & connecting flights in thailand, i filled it with a sat nav & other electrical items without any problems......

I have over 1000b credit with my DTAC but I still lost my number a couple months ago.

They CXD my number because they said I didn't make a call for over a month.

    Second time this happens.

First time a couple years ago.

It was a waste of time to have to update PayPal, Facebook, banks, etc.

This time my Thai wife managed to get it back after much blabla but they admonished me that from now on I must make at least a couple calls a month.

This must be a recent requirement as I used to go on vacation for months at a time in the US and Europe without losing my DTAC number even though I made no calls with my DTAC phone while away.

Unlike my wife I have very little use for my mobile.

Up to a  few years ago when I as living in BKK I had a TOT landline number.

    .

That's new to me, but will take it on board as I don't want to lose my number, I've always made sure over the years that the validity period would never run out & I never made any calls while in the u.k, I will make a few short calls just to make sure......

As I told you...foreign cards possibly no longer accepted. Easy to look for the different methods of contacting DTAC. Ask them to turn Roaming on(if possible) and Data off.

It Wouldn't make any difference, they have changed there policy.......

  5. By chance, I had an update for DTAC app & had a look at the reviews for the App & there where a few reviews having the same problems as me & there where no reply's from DTAC regarding this problem, so to me they are no longer accepting foreign cards anymore, its a shame as I have been DTAC for over 6 years & have been very happy with there service, looks like I will have to look at other service providers, can anyone recommend an alternative to DTAC ?

    Cheers

    Hi Baz,

Been wondering about this too. First time this month for years I'm getting the same as you on 2 sim accounts.

I'm using the IOS app and in Australia and top up 20 baht each month to keep then active.

I can't ever remember verifying my card and I think dtac are blocking those have not been verified. If you click on your profile top left corner (of IOS app) it shows "Age of use", "dtac Reward" and "My Card".

Click on My Card and you can verify it by sending an OPT code to your mobile number. I don't have the balance to add roaming to the sims so I can receive an SMS so I think I've lost my 2 numbers :(

Have you been able to refill?

    Hi there,

No I still cant top up, I registered the sim when they first asked for this requirement  by taking my passport along to my local DTAC shop many years ago......

    Cheers

    Baz

  7. Hi All,

I have had my DTAC Pay as you go sim for over 6 years now & have always made sure that the validity never ran out especially while out of the country, I have recently tried to refill my account using my saved credit card on my mobile & also online, but I keep getting a message (Unable to process transaction Please try again) I have tried adding another card to make payment but still get the same message, I am not too concerned as & 400 baht credit & validity runs out on the 1st November 2021.......

Is there a problem with DTAC? Or are my method of payment being blocked etc?

    Thanks in advance.....

  8. Hi All,

I have had my DTAC pay as you go sim for over 6 years now & have always made sure that the expiry date never runs out while I am out of the country, I have recently tried to refill my account using my saved credit card & I keep getting the same message (Unable to process transaction please try again. ) I have tried adding another card & I get the same message, I have over 400 baht in credit & it doesn't expire until 1st November 2021, so I'm not too concerned, just wonder what is going on, another strange thing is that when I click on to refill it states that I have zero credit & zero validity period, there is also no refill history etc.,

Wondering whether I should re-install app ? Or is there problems with DTAC?

    Thanks in advance....

Now he better hope he doesn't get trumped up on a false charge or some bad luck mistake and have his Thai citizenship taken away. Then what will he do? Just because he can get it doesn't mean they can't take it away.

I was thinking the same, thailand is great until you get on the wrong side of the law or have an accident etc, thai citizenship or not he's still going to be looked upon as a Farang who speaks good Thai, but to be fair if he's lived here since the age of two then you can hardly blame him, good luck to him......

I don't want to be the one to say this, but in all probability your current gf put something in your food.

Punishment poisoning is very common with Issan ladies, I've had it done to me by a lovely lady from Korat.

I pooped and vomited for a day, then everything was good.

I was thinking of marrying her until that happened.

    I was thinking the same......

Okay, you get a man who has money in the bank and so,  number 6 is not a problem.

But he doesn't have a job, and has no pension. Is it going to be a problem if he leaves out number 8 and 9 ??

You cant leave anything out, as it will not let you proceed any further......if you dont have a job & no pension then maybe you should go in person & show them how you can support yourself.........

Great that you got it, well done.

I have to wonder, if you just pinned a .jpg of a pension letter(s) to each of 8 & 9, would that substitute for an employers letter's.  Those employers are still paying me, via the pensions, it's just I don't have to key in anymore ????.  (the objective of the requirement would be good to know)

You could email them & ask, but dont hold your breath as I contacted them but got no answer....

  13. Hi to everyone who has replied to my post & thank you, i recieved my passport back today within a few days of sending it off, at first i thought that they had rejected my visa application as they would normally attatch some information with what the stamps should look like etc, maybe keeping costs down i dont know, the visa was in there along with two passport photos, so was relieved as i had already prepared for the long drive to the Hull Embassy, as you are all aware my E-visa experience wasnt as i expected, all the documents that i submitted where correct apart the letter from my employer that should of been addressed to the embassy that i had to submit into 8 & also 9 as i couldnt proceed any further, i also included a pension statement although im not retired that would not upload to number 9 (file too large) along with all the other copied documents & two photos that where not needed, i included a copy of my flight to Malaysia that was not asked for either, my travel history over the last 5 years has been SETV extended giving me 90 days, flying to Malaysia for another SETV with a flight back to the u.k well before the 60 day visa expires, i have never overstayed etc & i have never been denied entry, im not going to give advice as we all know everyone has different experiences.

All i will say, is that the Royal Thai Embassy Staff do actually take into concideration all applicants & that they may be aware that there are a few teething problems on there E-visa site & that the documents for my SETV are actually for the METV......Saying that im already dreading next year for what may lie ahead of me for my next Visa application......

    Cheers to all

The Chinese consulates have been using E visa for quite some time. Whether the Embassy's or consulates wish to use it or not, it isn't their choice. The E visa will not be going away.

I have always asssumed that Embassies all sing from the same hymn book, but from what i have read they all have there own criteria, i know that immigration in thailand can differ from one to another but this is all new to me......

They added these duplicate requirements to all visa applications recently.
