The rope is to stop them running off and getting lost, they won't survive in the wild. Thanks for the info must be very interesting to see

Yeh the monkey is on a along rope & he gives it a tug if the monkey isn't picking any coconuts,  have also seen the monkey come down the tree & the handler will point back up at the coconuts that he's missed & it will go back up & get them off.....

A word of warning, I tried to take a picture at a distance & the monkey showed his teeth & was ready to attack......

The old coconut picker (CP) monkey's are rarely used now since more modern methods superseded them, they are more as tourist attractions. They are classed as revered family members and are only bred with other CP monkey's. CP monkey's are all born 'in captivity' and it has been so for over a hundred years non of them are taken from the wild. The recent scandal where a so called animal charity, funded by Florida coconut growers, managed to get UK and US major retailers (Tesco's etc) to stop selling Thai coconut milk, saying they were taken from the wild and treated cruelly (for a short period until it was exposed as an outright lie), highlighted this. There is even a school run by Buddhist monks which specialises in training them humanely. They would not survive in the wild.

I only say this as the house I've rented for 10 years in Krabi has a guy come round with his monkey picker to collect the coconuts from the land at the rear of the property & I've also seen on few occasions other sarmlaws with a monkey Tied to a rope for the same purpose....

My money is on the Thai and i normally don't Thai bash much. But find this one of the most scary things when I drove my car outside of BKK. At least in BKK you got one way traffic, but outside there are often roads like that with bends where Thais just go to the other side without knowing what comes from the opposite direction.

I agree to that for sure, rode my bike up to Nakon Si Thammaratt a week ago & was behind a pick up truck, twice he overtook on a blind bend, but what made it worse, is that he made no attempt to accelerate to get past in time......... (Clueless)

Why are you asking if its expensive.... that is outrageously cheap for 7 nights, so cheap that something is quite possibly wrong with the pricing.

Are you looking for 1 night Test & Go in Bangkok, or 7 nights Sandbox (where ?) ?

Ide say the same, I paid 3800baht for one night & that was the cheapest I could find, it did include pick up & pcr test.....

Torch or Searchlight  , ...if it's not too big and heavy, just

have it sent China Post , and there is a good chance you

could not be charged anything , by Courier you will definitely

be charged all kind of fees taxes.

    regards Worgeordie

Yeh you could call it a searchlight, but a very compact one & not too heavy, ill try & find out which courier company they use......

    Thanks

The few things I have had from china--if sent by the Manufacturer ---I didn't seem to get any problems, (including all of Lazada's stuff etc) . Parcels sent from a 3rd party (Friends etc) were hit & miss.

As always in these situations---its a guess. At least with the UK you know you would only be charged the correct amount----- but your looking for a free-bee aren't you?

It must be some torch for $165

Its from a company called Lightmalls which sell mainly torches, batteries chargers etc & yes its expensive but a lot cheaper than buying from the u.k & yeh your right its hit & miss & I could be stung if being held to ransom at customs.....

    Cheers

  7. Would like some advice on ordering a torch from China ($165) I'm currently in Thailand & was wondering what would be the safest bet regarding customs etc to have it sent here or wait till I'm back in the u.k?

    Thanks in advance...

Be careful what details are , like:

    10 YEARS WARRANTY

    on motor

    LG and Samsung examples:

Remove LG 10 Year Warranty Appliance Stickers Easy - YouTubeFlexWash Top & Front Load Wash 21kg, Dryer 12kg | Samsung PH

The rest is just 1 year or 2 years at most.

Yeh I've seen some for 3 years which isn't bad & the motor is probably the last thing to go......

Aside from using less water & detergent, what are the advantages of a front-loader?

Perhaps the ability to install under a counter?

Yes your right & also easy to add that odd sock that you forgot to put in, but saying that some machines (Samsung) has a small door separate from the main one......

My main reason that i don't want a top loader is that all your clothes are sitting on top of each other & i always find my clothes are all tangled together & could even damage them, I personally think that front loaders are a much  better design..........

  11. I'm looking at buying a new washing machine  (Front Loader)  & have seen a few discounted machines on Lazada , Electrolux, Sharp, Samsung etc a few have a 10 Year warranty & this would be my main reason to buy, anyone bought a washing machine with a 10 year warranty & got it repaired say 6 years later or is there a catch to it?

My other question, would it be better to buy say from Home-Pro so you could have a good look before buying & would be a lot less hassle if a fault was to develop......

    Cheers

    4. VERY IMPORTANT: When you apply for the THAI PASS on the website make sure all your documents are in jpg, png the system won't accept PDF so what I did was to take screenshots of my documents. Make sure your Vaccination Certificate shows the QR code.

I applied for my Thai Pass last night & all my documents where PDF & it all went through o.k.....did it not except PDF files for you? or was this something you read? or do you mean your application will not be excepted ?

I got the AXA cover including the asymptomatic cover, and it's states on the certificate 50,000$ cover, did not want to take the risk on the thailandpass.

I will get UK travel insurance as well for my own piece of mind but only suit the AXA on the pass.

Waiting to hear back from hotel, had to supply flight E-ticket, vaccine certificate, insurance, and photo of passport ????, just as many documents just for the hotel.

I'll start my Thaipass when I get the hotel fully booked.

Was the asymptomatic cover included? Or did you have to contact them for this ? as I have also taken out my covid insurance with them & cant see it anywhere in the policy.......

    Cheers

  14. How long roughly does it take for the online E-Visa take to process? Obviously there is no need to post your passport off anymore, also do they email you your visa to  your email address or do you download it from your E-Visa account? I ask this as I had many failed attempts today with the CAPTCHA & I was putting it in correctly & thought if you got locked for some reason you wouldn't be able to access your Visa......

    Cheers
