How can people see alcohol as an important part of getting through a virus outbreak? That´s extremely low, instead of with a clear mind face the difficulties and look reality in the eye. I see this behaviour as the cowards way out, but that´s only my opinion.
I bet you are always in the kitchen at parties.

Also saying we have 4 masks per household to give out.
Well a group of yellow shirts, blue neckties following the pickup, handing out masks, did not stop at our gate.
My wife called out to them, what about us, reply you have farang husband, no hab for farang.
Strange, if your wife is Thai why would they not stop and hand out masks.
Our village Headman's office people have been round and handed out, one plastic bowl, one bottle sanitiser, and two facemasks per person in each household. As head honcho farang in our house I even got two masks.
Get your wife to go round Puy Yai Baans Office and kick up stink.

The usual line from them is "my mussy not come free"
When you complain it followed by "not like it here, you know where bus stop is"
Happened to a good buddy of mine last year. This is just after he purchased a new Mitsu Suv. On her birthday she asked where her gold is. This after 14 years together.
He weighed it all up and took her to the gold shop.
One Baht gold, about 24K Baht ish.
Small change, beer money.

I don't think Prine was ever in it for the money. He wrote songs for other artists too, notably Cash. Kristofferson, Dylan, Presley, Springsteen, Elton John, Roger Waters were all fans of his. He must have been mildly popular as there was extensive coverage on his passing on the US networks.
In the UK, Bob Harris played his stuff regularly on his radio show, that's where I became a fan. RIP JP.

I paid at 711 yesterday. They have to type in the number.
You can pay TOT at 7/11 too, just need your tel number. Maybe 3bb as well.
I did not know until a fellow expat told me. Used to trek 20km round trip to TOT Office to pay as we never got a paper bill.

it's all about wives and sweethearts.
wives will always be taken care of, but not forget the sweethearts.
Today I have had a distress call from my regular caddy. Single mum, three children. golf course closed, no work, no money.

But, in case you get nowhere with the English translation provided by ubonjoe, you might instead wish to consider shoving the original Thai version attached under the grubby little nose of the IO who is giving you so much BS grief. The relevant passages (page 2 for marriage and page 3 for retirement) have been highlighted for the benefit of IO's who, like the one in your case, appear to be sadly lacking in the comprehension department.
Amendments to clauses 2.18 & 2.22 of Police Order 138-2557 TH.pdf 1.95 MB · 7 downloads
Thanks for the download.
The advice I have been given is to go back to Phetchabun with all my marriage paperwork, bank statements and proof of pension from UK. Submit it all and see what happens. This time my wife will be with me, before I was only making an inquiry. Hopefully we can get our point across about the monthly income method.
If they will not allow, its either a 60 day extension or a trip out of the country for a non O. This will allow time to get the 400K again in the Thai bank account.
I deliberately ran down my account and live comfortably here off my UK military pension.

Following this topic with interest. On checking our marriage certificates my wife's maiden name is on both certificates.
She changed to my surname when she applied for the new ID card at the local Amphur.
I am looking through stacks of docs now to see if some form of certificate was issued.
Ubon Joe is correct, that is a divorce certificate. I do not have one of those, yet.

This used to be a regular thing in our small town and usually on a change of Colonel in the Police station. Go round and meet and greet the farangs etc.
On the last visit they all came around, about five policeman, took photos of our car and motorcycles, explaining to my wife it would help if something ever happened to me.
When the new Police station opened a few years back now, myself and wife, along with two other farang couples were invited to the grand opening of the station.
I sat on the table with the provincial Judge and chief prosecutor, who incidentally both spoke excellent English. So it was kind of interesting.

Could anyone show me what this change of name certificate looks like.
I married 13 years ago in Bangkok, Don Mueang Amphur and my wife took my surname.
Searching through all my marriage docs etc, I cannot find any such certificate.
Thanks.

Well good luck with that, I was turned down flat at Phetchabun Immigration last week trying to use the monthly income method for a marriage extension. Its 400K baht in the bank only.
I showed them the police order, bank books and the example Thai bank statement letter that has been shown on this forum several times.
Just a flat 'No, No, No, cannot do'
Incidentally Phetchabun will not let retirement extension folk do the combination, or monthly income method without an Embassy letter. Informing them that Brits, Aussie and US cannot do gets you nowhere.
I am normally a calm sort of bod, but twenty minutes in the presence of the officer in charge of that place nearly made me lose it.

Well good for you, I dislike handing good beer chits over for nothing too.
When my mate asked about what if I don't pay. answer was, no money, no extension.
What would your advice be then, oh learned one?

Buddy of mine and myself are changing from retirement extensions to marriage.
He has successfully done his and despite only living about a 15 minute drive in one of their swanky BMWs they charged him 2K Baht expenses.
My extension is due in a few weeks and I live in the far south of the province approx 110km drive. Wonder what I will be pinged for.
Not unduly worried about the change of extension, I did a marriage one back in 2006 at Suan Plu. Lots of hoop jumping but I cannot recall a home visit back then.
Not going to name the province, but my TV name will give you a clue.

He was a Sgt Major so would not have been difficult to get access to weapons and ammunition. A conscript erk would find it difficult I suspect, but not a SNCO.

For the NW UK I now use Emirates to Manchester and book thru the airline web page.
I did book thru cheaptickets.co.th.
Many years ago I used a travel agents in Soi 4 Nana, AP Travel. I do believe they still may be there. There was a Thai girl who spoke excellent French and English, she would do all the ground work and you would just hand over the Baht.
I was planning a visit back to home country this year but with all this sanmiguel virus around, myself and a few others I know are just keeping away from airports and large populated places etc.
how do you handle staying home
