Been using it for a while no problem. If you are far from the nearest transmitter make sure you can get a connection still with an antenna on your house. Beware they will probably connect it up all wrong with wrong cable and connections! There are a few posts on here that will help you find the correct connections and cables.
If you have an external antenna go on google earth and work out the bearing to set up your antenna to get the best signal.

Whats your suggestion then Luke?

I have been trying to solve this problem for a while.
1, I have CAT CDMA USB MC760 internet, I have set internet sharing on and connect it to the Time capsule via ethernet. (IP 10.136.***.***)
2, The Time capsule then sends out a wireless internet connection that I can connect to with my iphone 4.
3, I have then added a slingbox to my system that I could not connect to initially, I have changed the IP addresses to be in the same group and can now use the internet and connect to the sling box at the same time.
4, I can not get the Time capsule to allow remote acces with the port 5001 as per the instructions.
Can anyone please advise how to get this working I have spent hours trying to figure it out.
Regards

I went to Hua Hin last year and stayed at the Hilton as they had an offer on, not the greatest of hotels but in the best location if you want to be in he middle of town and by the beach. I found some of the fish restaurants on the beach to be very poor and expensive. You can get good seafood for half the price in the night marker. Check out these restaurants:
La Grappa
A contemporary Italian restaurant that features fine dining, Mediterranean style. All food is prepared by the accomplished Italian chef, Andreas Bonifacio who will happily tailor dishes to suit the requirements of his customers. As well as authentically prepared oven-baked pizzas you can choose from an array of pasta and meat and fish-based dishes. Dishes are well teamed with a vast wine selection from which choices can be recommended by the chef and wait staff.
Opening Hours: 10:00 – 24:00
Address: 20/5 Poolsuk Road
Tel: +66 (0) 32-516 510
Cuisine: Italian
This, like the Beach Road and for the most part all of the area, is where you come to eat seafood in a vibrant atmosphere, pre- or post-shopping. Check out some of the best that we have personally sampled.
Petchkasem Road – Night Bazaar
This road has numerous indoor and alfresco seafood joints that have a huge selection of seafood and steaks at reasonable prices. The restaurants listed below come highly recommended for both their extensive menus and vibrant atmosphere. Among these, we recommend that you venture out to Bird Chilli, Hua Hin Seafood, Road Fai and Khaimuk, all of which are situated in very close proximity to each other.
This is a great by the beach restaurant....
Coco 51 restaurant Hua Hin

I would go for the Top mansion also, like you I have stayed at some of the expensive ones in Udon and they are just disappointing. Top Mansion is cheap and cheerful and right next to the bar areas.
There is a new hotel opened in town not been there yet but it is was up on the star rating compared to others but away from the bars etc, cant find the name at the mo sorry.
.
Ban Chiang and Centra are not worth the money.
Have a look here http://www.udonmap.com/en/udonthani-business/search-by/tags/accommodation.html

If you look back at my original post I said "there are some hotels in the area I believe that one of them is pretty new"
How is that not helpfull.
Also trying to establish if the OP was refering to Chum Phae not Cham Phea to point him the right direction.
Then it ends up he is not even in Chum Phae but living in Si Chomphu!
As I pointed out to many people on here with nothing better to do all day than slag off someone.

Thanks for the information guys.

I have the Cat CDMA MC760 set up on my imac and have managed to set up sharing wireless from the time capsule by using ethernet connection.
It would be great to be able to plug the modem directly in to the Time Capsule to share the internet wirelessly. Is this possible?
Thanks for any advice.
-
Well JRinger, I am not making any assumptions having lived in the area for 4 years I am giving an honest opinon here.
I live not far outside SiChompu...Trying to give out some helpful advice but as ever on TV you get someone chipping in with some bone comment....
-
I take it you mean Chum Phae?
If so I doubt it very much you will find a place to rent like that. It's an up country Town, that does not have the market for that. However there are some hotels in the area I believe that one of them is pretty new.

Mantra... especially for the Sunday brunch.
Pan Pan in Jomtien for Italian.
Manhattans for steak.

I have managed to do this on my Mac.
I have the USB connection then it is set up with an ethernet cable to my Time capsule then that pushes out a wireless signal.
I have asked a few questions about this but not had any answers for more guidance.
I think that CAT are now doing there own wireless router.

I have spent a few hours now trying to set up my Slingbox so hopefully I can watch some TV when I am back at work.
I have got CAT CDMA working fine on my computer (Imac) I have set it up to share the internet connection with my Time Capsule and can connect to this no problems. However I am trying to set up the Slingbox and it does not get a network connection with the Time Capsule when the Cat is running. Also when I do get a connection it is very short lived.
I have been reading up on the internet and tried lots of different settings but to no avail.
Hopefully someone can help with this?
Thanks

HI,
I would go for the CAT CDMA, there are a few posts on it on here, I did one a couple of months back.
By far the best connection if you are outside the city.

Miss out the central and ban chiang, not worth the money.
Like above I use the Top mansion now, cheap and cheerful, beds are a bit hard but great location with off road parking. You could also try the Irish clock.

Hi WormFarmer,
I was toying with the idea of IPStar or TOT and even went once to purchase but they never turned up thankfully, just hear stories of how slow the connections are and the excessive charges.
The Cat CDMA works on a technology that is in-between GPRS and 3G. My place is 10km line of sight from the nearest tower, so i have an external Yagi antenna to pick up the signal.
They have a CAT website but it is pretty poor and the telephone operators are not up to much, best going to a local mobile phone dealer and ask them for the local CAT office then go and sort it out yourself. In December they had an offer on so it cost me 11,700 for complete installation with the external antenna. You do not need a telephone line. they will come and check if you can get a good enough signal before you have to pay.
Do a search and read up on the set up, as you will find they usually do not know what they are doing and fit the wrong type cable.
If you want a decent tv sat setup dont waist your money on true, ask around for a system that does the UBC and DSTV all in one, one off charge.
-
Forget all the crap satellite systems go for the CAT CDMA, easy set up and better connection with no stupid fees for a crap service.
It will cost you about 12k, and 790 per month.
If you want a decent TV Sat system also send me a message and I will give you a phone number.

Dont bother with any of these filters.
I to have a sub pump that I use for my house, I have a problem with excesive lime in the water. I have previously installed to of these undersink water filter units for drinking water and what a complete waste of money. Like is said above you get this from Home Pro "this one is the best" use it for a couple of months and then need to change the filters.
I have not just got a water chiller that you put the big bottles of water onto. Far cheaper and easy to use.
I recently added a AC powered coil device that is meant to break down the deposits in the water, it takes a couple of months to see the results so awaiting the outcome.

I have stayed at most of the so called better hotels and dont see what they offer for there inflated prices.
I head to the Top Mansion now on the same soi as the Irish Clock, only 350 Thb cheap and chearfull and near all the places you need to get to.

Thanks for the detailed reply ThaiLife. Thats great mate.
It looks like the connection on the antenna is a TNC connection. I was thinking it might have been a N type.
TNC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TNC_connector
N type http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N_connector
Much appreciated, hopefully other people can pick up on this information and help them, possibly avoid having 75ohm RF cable fitted in the first place.
Just need to source my order now, probally best to buy the cable and head it up myself to avoid excess loss.
Cheers for the help.

I have found this item on ebay if you do a search on the title of the topic.
Looks like you can plug in your CAT CDMA USB directly to the router and have wireless and ethernet connectivity.
Has anyone used this or have this system working already, looking to purchase one of these as I can do loads more with my CAT CDMA internet then.
Thanks for any advice.
