Nah, only a 9-iron effectively takes on cane toads ????
Steel belt radials and motor mowers are also quite effective.

Once I retired and left CM to come back home to Far North Queensland, I also returned to the perennial mosquito/dengue problem. James Cook University have now virtually eliminated dengue by infecting mosquitoes with Wolbachia bacteria and releasing them to breed with the wider population. I've always wondered why the Chiang Mai authorities didn't liase with JCU and solve this perennial problem once and for all.

As I recall, the last time an airliner was shot down, was an Iranian airliner, shot down in 1988 by a missile from the USS Vincennes, operating within Iran's territorial waters.

Cue scene from the movie "Gandhi"
Gandhi was not campaigning for equal rights for all. He was only interested in equal status for Indians!

If the issue is a case of respectfully dealing with the remains in a culturally appropriate (i.e.Thai) manner, by all means allow the body to be exhumed, prepared and transported to Thailand at the parents' expense. I might have thought said remains have already been respectfully dealt with. Merit can surely be made appropriately in a less intrusive manner in situ.

Hear hear! (no doubt "here here," as well!)

Juvenile colours differ heaps from adult colouring. Hard to tell.

Very impressive sign up in the Northwest announcing the HQ of the Calvary Division. It made me wonder whether to look for tanks or tambourines!

There is a significant difference between expressing an opinion of the efficacy of a particular school's effectiveness, and asserting contravention of the law. Yes, I recall, as in, remember discussion, about a drug issue at Prem a long time ago. Implicit in my comment was a query as to whether the issue was still current or just the rantings of some disaffected misfit who would, in all probability be unhappy anywhere.

We moved our daughter out of Varee as it was just a Thai school. at a price. She was better off. in the local village school where there were no "Chelsea Cruiser" parents. Actually as everywhere in LOS there were no parents. We moved our daughter out of Panyaden as the teachers/administration were totally incompetent. I think the so called "Science" teacher boasted he had a degree from some Bible College and Neil the Head was a whizz on refugees but we were not.
Christian Canadian Americans with little clue about anything. Other parents moved their children to the Asia=Pacific. The Panyaden staff were looking at Lanna for their children. Lanna is somewhere in 1960.
Drugs are a very big problem at Prem. There is nothing in Thailand let alone Chiang Mai that compares with Singapore. Dara and Montfort are basically your choices but they are both huge and aggressively Thai. You have to accept that schools in Thailand are lousy and if international expensive. English Programs are taught by Phillippinos and Cameroonians annd are a complete waste of time and money at 20000 Baht a term. Sorry to be depressing, but based on experience!!
I would suggest that, if you cannot prove a drug problem currently at Prem, you are making a defamatory statement. I recall an issue around ten years ago. No mention on this thread of NIS. How does that rate?

Well if they don't issue warnings they get in hot water, when the body bags come home. Which is most every day already. But when this starts and it will. It's going to be bloody. No way I can see it being avoided at this point. ....so stock up on whatever.... You think you need. From BKK.......
How many coups have you been through in Thailand? Doesn't sound like my kinda Thai kinda coup.

Perhaps now due process may be said to have been served.

Word police or not, what you have at home is a chicken coop. What Thailand is having is a chicken coup.

You won't find that cheap places are advertised. Really, it's a matter of identifying suitable condos and asking at the condo office. In this condo (Sri Anant) I've seen studios advertised for B2500 furnished, with aircon. At this level, you really need a local to help.

It's pretty obvious to me now that this move was planned all along. I was wondering who was going to move into all the new moo bans and condos.

Today's observations:
Australian passport, 2 month tourist visa from Vientiane, 1 month extension from Immigration Chiang Mai. Minibus pre-trip communication excellent, driving excellent, including p break each way, for B650. 2 week extension no problems and again in 2 weeks (total of 4 Mae Sai extensions).
Cheers

Excessive and gratuitous apostrophisation (as in "your's").

This came up on TV a couple of years ago on TV (search). I went to my home country for a trip soon after, and contacted the suppliers of the electronic "trainer." They only work close up, (so forget beaming it across from your place), they're expensive, and there's no guarantee of their efficacy.

Having spent some considerable time perusing the various agency websites (and having none of them respond to online requests beyond a computer generated reply), I get the feeling I am fishing in the wrong pond.
I am looking for a one bedroom (not a studio) apartment in the Chang Klan or Chang Peuk area, not Nong Hoi as it goes underwater, for under B5000. I am sure they are out there. I just need a pointer or two to access them. Any help appreciated.

Why don't they introduce infected mosquitos and fix the problem. The cure is out there. Trials have been done.
