  1. well first of all

if it gets to court the judge normally orders the plaintiff and the defendant to go into another room and negotiate it out

if they cant then they go back to the judge and let him/her make judgement

the translations are near enough - its the paperwork that decides most things - there is no jury system and so less of the grey area to work in

i can tell you there is a very beautiful woman Thai judge in Pattaya (Jomtien) and I love watching her work.

Is she one of the "key sights?"

  2. Just caught this one. Another good mate gone. The last thing he said to me was, "you'll be back!" I said I didn't think so. I was wrong, but now won't have the pleasure of seeing his reaction when I do return. Good bloke. R.I.P. Max.

  3. Reminds me of an occasion when I was driving down a narrow country road in Oxfordshire, England. A woman in a sports car came hurtling round a bend and yelled, "pig!" at me. I yelled, "cow!" back, and then drove around the bend and hit the biggest pig I've ever seen................555!

I'm going to regret asking that question, I just know it. coffee1.gif

Is it possible to buy sea mines in Chiang Mai (just in case)?

  5. Perhaps you can follow up this useful information with some details - we already know it's 100Kg's. Dimensions of the boxes, to which country you were shipping, and what you got quoted would be useful.

Please don't think I'm just being nosey (which I am) - it's just that sometime in the not too distant future I may be doing exactly what you've just done - I might be shipping some goods to Europe.

I've shipped a bunch of stuff around the world on occasion and usually budget around $4/kg by airfreight I'm wondering if Thailand to Europe works out around the same...

Two "pirate chest" sizes boxes. Air to Gympie, Queensland B23K including fumigation and clearance. By sea B15000.

In my case, time is not an issue. I used Gemini. Hope this helps

  6. Following a rigorous search on the internet, I carted my two 50kg boxes down to Ban Tawai to fing the firm I'd chosen. Blessed hindsight may help other seekers. There are heaps of packing and shipping firms at Ban Tawai. You will need a copy of your passport and detailed inventory of contents. The agent will tell you your air or sea options.

    Cheers.

  7. Just sent stuff to Oz, some by post and some by DHL on Moon Muang Rd. They are around the same rate. I would try the PO. They will also pack for you. Quick and secure. There is no "cheaper!" Be ready for a shock.

  8. He should see my spelling before a spell check. It would give him a week of enjoyment. smile.gif

Actually I already knew that a friend of mine a English major education in collage was telling me about it as she was laughing.

A major in collage would be an Arts major, not an English major, would it not?

  9. This in general called bone meal and as a fertilizer the N-P-K ratio is generally 4-12-0, though some steamed bone meals have N-P-Ks of 1-13-0. Bone meal is also an excellent organic source of calcium. In Thai it is called กระดูกป่น, translated as "gradoek pon"

Not sure if available though but can try.

    Many thanks. Printed and ready
