  1. Absolutely. Which is why I am somewhat skeptical of reports that this Mexican chap was a far right, neo nazi, white supremacist with 2 faces and interchangeable tattoos. Let's wait for the evidence.
  2. Unless it's Meghan Markle. Anyway, back on topic. I fail to see why standing up to the Chinese regime draws such vitriol. Is it a communist solidarity thing? Or just fear of the regime? Cowardice? Dislike of strong women? I'm not sure, but whatever the reason I think Truss is on the right side of the argument here.
  3. It's certainly confusing. So far, it seems he was a white supremacist (of Mexican descent!!) who appears as 2 completely different men with different tattoos in media photos. There certainly seems to be some issues with accuracy of reporting.
  4. An interesting strategy given that the US is about to hit it's debt ceiling. Borrow more money (hopefully), then give it away. With fiscal prudence like that, it becomes clear why the US is over 31 trillion in debt.
  5. Someone has to show some backbone against the disgraceful Chinese regime. Well done Liz. Don't let the misogyny bring you down.
  6. Always liked Dreyfuss. Top man. Stakeout was a great movie. I'm all for Equality of opportunity. Equality of outcome however is a deeply flawed concept. Sowell (legend) was 100% correct.
  7. One of my dogs has taken Cobra spit to the eye a few times. He can't open his eyes for around 3 days after it happens and then he's back to normal. I let the dogs take care of them but on the rare occasions I've had to help out (like when it won't come out of a tight space) I wear glasses and use a 4 metre long piece of bamboo. Fortunately it's mainly rat snakes and keelbacks on our farm.
  8. Most people would agree that whether someone has committed a crime or not they deserve due process, not to be effectively exiled by a Kangaroo court being stood over by an Army that illegally stole power.
  9. Much as you'd like to dismiss my salient point from the discussion, I'm afraid it's very much relevant. You see, last week's vote is part of the subject of discussion. The other part is "Labour vows best is yet to come". On this part, I would beg to differ. I'd say they've peaked and when it comes to who leads the country, people will forget last week's little protest vote and once again vote for the Conservatives and not the party with a long history of anti-semitism and destroying the economy.
  10. An inane trope. Last week's vote didn't determine who would run the country.
  11. They voted to leave the European Union. Labour have a long way to go before they can defeat the Conservatives in a General Election. Not least of all the rampant anti-semitism that has been plaguing the party for many years and raised it's ugly head again recently. https://news.sky.com/story/diane-abbott-accused-of-hateful-antisemitism-after-suggesting-jews-do-not-face-racism-12864141 There is no doubt that the conservatives have been weak on issues like immigration, but why would anyone vote for a party that is even weaker?
  12. Harry??? ???? With Markle as Queen? ???? Surely you jest. If anything could ever bring down the Monarchy, having a (self confessed/documented) drug taking, Nazi dressing, racist bully like Harry as King would probably achieve it. He's lucky to still have his titles. Hopefully, now that the coronation is complete he will be stripped of them pronto.
  13. But more democratic than guns and tanks, no? Don't let perfection stand in the way of progress.
  14. Let's face it, most governments promise things in exchange for votes, it is just less subtle in Thailand. I don't want to change the topic, but Biden's policy of writing off student debt is basically a more sophisticated way of doing the same thing. As for Thaksin being a fugitive, well, we all know the circumstances in which he acquired that status. A Kangaroo court. Fact is, pretty much anything is more democratic then the Army bringing tanks onto the streets.
  15. IMO, any parties that are not run by Generals in suits. You might not like them, they might not be perfect - but they are democratically elected. They don't steal power through the barrel of a gun.
  16. Well, Jacinda Ardern had a child while PM and she did a great j.... Oh, wait a minute... ???? Seriously though, there is no reason why Paetongtarn would have any issues, she could have a whole team of nannies, drivers, chefs etc. attending to her every whim. To be honest, she could have septuplets with no help at all and still do a better job than Prayut.
  17. Location is irrelevant. If the police had reason to believe they were going to glue their face to one of the horses or the carriage then it would be reasonable to arrest them before they arrived at the location. If the police had reason to suspect they had a bomb should they refuse to arrest them because they are 'nowhere near' the coronation? Where did I say support is unanimous? Oh that's right, I didn't, it was all in your imagination. ???? Of course there are always going to be the pink haired, rainbow sock wearing attention seekers screaming obscenities but thankfully it did not detract from a wonderful occasion. Long Live the King.
  18. Seems they allowed protests that were not causing a nuisance. From your link...
  19. You really shouldn't expect a principled stance from members of the SNP. Hamza Yusuf is a Republican but he was hardly going to miss an event like this based on minor things like principles.
  20. I'm guessing the vocal minority, the Pink haired brigade were causing a public nuisance again. Nobody likes a party pooper. Hope they didn't spend too long in the cells.
  21. I'd call it a gracious smile on a serious occasion. What was the expression? Of that's right...
  22. And suddenly there was a battle for top 4. I still think Utd will get that 4th place. Liverpool are running out of games and Utd have quite an easy run in against some poor sides. Terrible performance against West Ham though. Almost ten years since they sacked Moyes and you have to wonder what progress has been made.
  23. I think he's bang on the money. I'd expect some manufactured protests, maybe a bit of violence which will all be solved when the "good people" retake power to restore the good name of Thailand and return happiness to the people (again).
  24. He looked thoroughly embarrassed to me, and rightly so. Like a kid sent to the naughty chair in front of his classmates while trying to pretend he finds it funny. Still, he's probably got a bit more material for another book to sell to the Brit haters. On a positive note, Catherine looked incredible as always.
