Insomnia is raided often, and yet the stupid Farangs still stay there after hours, then they complain about harassment even though they know they are breaking the law.

Any farangs caught breaking laws should be deported after paying their fines.

Identify, Target, Arrest, drug test, means test, passport check, establish how a living is made legally, torture, beat, maim, then deport them.

Better still, take away the opportunity to exploit poor Thai women, and Farangs will all but vanish.

If your not following the "tourist trail" Bangkok can still be pretty good value, the price gouging in touristy places is a joke though. It would be interesting to see where Bangkok ranked 4-5 yrs ago, imo thats when the prices started to rise much more quickly than inflation, probably at triple that rate.

Might I suggest that something has not been getting passed back up the foodchain as it should??

Recently I accidently left another international card in a Siam Commercial machine, I think 20 seconds after the ATM gives the money and card out it's automatically swallowed if not removed.. Telephone banking refused to help and said it would be destroyed.

A UOB machine ate mine at the machine outside the branch about 4yrs ago, I got it back within 1hr.

Once a month I transfer from my UK account to my Thai account. The UK bank charge GBP 13 to send it and the Thai bank charge 0.25%, with a min of Bt 200 and a max of Bt 500.

Costs around GBP 22-ish and is in my account 2 days later usually, though they say 3-5 working days. The exchange rate charge alone from my UK bank is 2.99% of their rate. Assuming you sent GBP 1,000 this would cost me GBP 29.90 in exchange rate differences, let alone the ATM fee charge they levy and the Bt 150 charged by the Thai bank.

Tell your bank to send the cash in Sterling then..

my experiences seem to differ from other people on here.. she's never mentioned money to me and she usually tries to pay for stuff all the time.

1) You're really ugly and she doesn't want her friends to know that she's got such bad taste.

2) She loves you madly but cultural differences prohibit her from introducing you to her friends.

3) She doesn't make any demands for money so she's in it for the "long game".

4) She's hoping for residency and you might be her meal ticket.

5) She simply doesn't understand and is shy.

6) She already has a husband/boyfriend and can't let the cat out of the bag in respect of her "gik".

I would lean towards Number 6. She would not be the 1st or last Thai girl to have a few farang men around the globe supporting her. With every guy thinking that they are the only one.

Apparently this isn't the case, I read this somewhere that if you still hold property, have car's, etc, etc in the UK you may still be classed as taxable?
