The situation was the opposite with these zero Baht tours. Despite many Chinese tourists the Thais did not get much money. Here in Pattaya the Chinese even built a fake temple to get the money from things like amulets they sold there to their Chinese customers.

The thais do get much money from the "zero baht tours"..............Not Joe Somchai, but the very few in the upper echelons. And if they are happy that`s all that matter, unfortunately.

It's the same every year when the winds change, it's caused by Thai fishing boats throwing their rubbish into the sea before returning to port.

I doubt that the fishermen on thai boats throw away their flip-flops twice a day and they certaintly don`t have the money to stock their boats full of soft drinks and dairy products.

Tell the millions suffering life long consequences from covid that it's not scary. Good luck. P.S. more than a few thousand have died.

More than a third of of patients, or 35%, not sick enough to be hospitalized still weren't back to normal up to three weeks after testing positive, according to a survey published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in July. Those who had lingering symptoms mostly complained about fatigue, cough and headache.

I said : ".Off the millions that will get infected with Covid-19,a few thousands will die." And off all the persons who get infected 0,55 will get sick.

The cure for this virus is still gonna be worse than the disease itself.

Millions will suffer life long consequences from the virus also. Sad some are willing to toss the sick and elderly under the bus just to be able to go to the bar.

With that being said, no easy answers. Read what's going on in New Zealand. Scary.

Its not scary at all.Off the millions that will get infected with Covid-19,a few thousands will die.But the long time effects of the worldwide lockdown will be much worse than the disease will ever be.

Almost 800,000 dead globally, with many more to come, and millions more suffering life long consequences from the virus. You really need a better source for your news.

The millions that will suffer the long time consequences is from the Worldwide lockdown, not from the virus itself.

Almost the same as Trump is doing in Portland Oregon now. I voted for him for change, but not for lunacy. He needs to get out much like some here.

Are you for real? You must be some special kind of ignorant to compare the neccesary return to order in Portland compared to the killing of hundreds of demonstrators in Bangkok back then .

You can always google it ????.

It's not the egyptian embassy who delivers the visa or authorization to enter in Thailand

it's the Thai embassy in Egypt.

Then the blame is on the Thai people working in the Thai embassy

in Egypt, as in a normal world they are not supposed to let the Thailand national security go under

pressure or lobbying of a demand coming from another embassy.

The immigration has no responsabilities in this matter as they just control

you have the right visa in your passport. It's the authority delivering the visa

who is responsible, in this case it's the ministry of foreign affairs (Embassy)

and not the interior ministry (Immigration)

A visa is no guarantee to be let in to the kingdom.

I see a lot of poor Thai drivers. This is a list of things I observed.

    1. do U-turn suddenly

    2. drive on opposite side of road

    3. turn left suddenly to a petrol station even when there are motorcylists on its path that is coming very close.

    4. go into main road suddenly even when there are motorcyclists on its path that is coming very close.

Thai drivers simply have NO patience in waiting for people to pass first.

I don't know why Thai transport give these people driving licence in the first place.

Plenty of drivers in Thailand that  still doesn`t have a driver license.

    Not just fishermen either.

Probably most every boat/ship out there does the same.

When I was on an Exercise with the US Marines/Navy back in the early 80s, we spent 6 weeks at sea re-enacting the Devil's Brigade landings in the Aleutian Islands, up in the Bering Sea between Russia and Alaska. 6 weeks at sea and barely 36 hours on the island.

Most of the garbage from the ship, regardless of what it was, went off the rear of the ship into the ocean (once they were out of sight of land that is). The presumption was that it would never make it back to land. They were probably right about most of it.
We had two separate fleets on that exercise, probably close to 3 dozen ships in total and thousands of sailors/marines/Canadian Infantry. Probably dumped enough garbage to fill a small city's landfill on that one exercise.

But as people have learned since then, stuff dumped at sea can end up floating a long, long way. Like that shipment of plastic ducks that have washed up on beaches thousands of miles from where the container when into the ocean. Or the shipment of Nike running shoes that floated for 6+ months on the ocean before some started washing up on beaches on the West Coast of North America.

Things like plastics, which seem to make up a large percentage of the trash these days, will float for years before finally disintegrating (or washing up on shore somewhere).

Luckily those days are over when it comes to international shipping.International regulations bans discarding any form of garbage in the sea.Although it still happens it is nowhere as bad as it was and the penalties when caught can be very harsh .

Same reply to you as Post #16.

So, how long should they go without a tenant because their pricing is not competitive?

At what stage of a housing crisis would you say a "market correction" is taking place?  Or, do you think the Thai's will never allow a market correction, even with the likes of Vietnam next door?

So when will this "market correction" take place ? I`ve been following various thai forums for years now and in the opinion of many of the participants there condo prices and rental prices have dropped the last couple of years because of the steady influx of new buildings or projects and lack of (western ?) customers.

Pity that it doesn`t reflect the prices offered when Im and probably others are doing enquires.

You seriously think a thai landlord will want to give you a 50% discount or even discuss one.

    you are dreaming my friend.

I think you will be sadly mistaken, but good luck.

Thai's would rather see it empty than cut the rate.

Agree.Ive been looking around for a condo (on behalf of a friend) in the Pattaya/Jomtien area lately and there are very few if any discounts to be had. In my experince as an tenant many condoe`s are owned by indivudals or companies that owns many condo`s already and as such can afford to leave than empty then drop the prices.
