  1. Nice.... Do all there cars have heaters in them because it might snow.... ????
  2. You obviously didn't read the first 2 posts in this thread as the reason was already provided....duhhhhhhh I am sure booking ahead would had secured me a reservation but as I said, in the past I had always been able to walk in a get one within minutes. However it was a last minute need for me since I've always owned a car for the past 13 years or so and 13 years was the last time I needed to rent one. Did you know it's extremely cold in the Thailand mountains now? I think it is probably too cold to snow.... ????
  3. Is there a problem with that? In the past I have walked in and rented a car on the very same day. As my posted eluded, currently it's more difficult to rent due to places now being closed and having a much lower inventory. Maybe it's not because of COVID but because it is so so cold in the Thailand mountains...... LOL...LOL...LOL
  4. So today I called about 7 or 8 rental car places here in CM including the three big boys, Avis, Hertz, & Budget, and not one has a single car to rent for this upcoming weekend. In fact the earliest I could book one (NorthWheels) was for this coming Tuesday. I wanted it for an entire week but due to other commitments I am only allowed to rent it for 3 days. Also about 3 or 4 places I called no longer had their listed phone number still in service. I'm guessing COVID ran them out of business. One has to wonder, why the shortage of rental cars. My guess is that tourism being essentially nonexistent the rental places drastically reduced their inventory available for rent.
  5. Know the area quite well.... Fraser and Gunnison here as well as numerous places up & down the Front Range. The nice thing about CO is the sunshine. That and the dry climate allows many Winter days feeling refreshing rather than cold. I rarely wore a coat (except when skiing) but always had one in the car, just in case. ........and ohhhhh those occasional Chinook winds coming up from the Gulf. I played a few rounds of golf in January while playing in shorts.
  6. "Read the line re: too cold to snow" Read Wikipedia, it snows there......and quite a bit..... Do you even know what snow is? I'm guessing you've never really been there. Perhaps retreat back to the mountains in Thailand where it is cold..... colder than S. Korea.... LOL...LOL...LOL
  7. Get over yourself..... I can't help it you're a pansy a$$ and think it's colder in Thailand's mountains than in S. Korea where they have snow every year for a few months.
  8. I agree, but you seem to be trying to compare Thailand mountain temps to those in S. Korea.
  9. Does it snow in those mountains? On a rare occasion they will have a heavy frost.
  10. 2nd Floor just around the corner from Bangkok bank. (Same building as Rimping - Bldg A)
  11. Cold in Thailand? I call BS to that..... My AC is on nearly year round and I'm always in shorts and t-shirts unless going to immigration for ext renewal. I do miss snow skiing so post again when it snows.... ????
  12. I don't think the shade has anything to do with it. Have ever been to Banwangtan? I ask because there are huge trees everywhere and they provide shade on both sides of most of the roads. NOTE: My activity usually occurs early morning and late evening where there's little direct sunlight providing any extra heat. I understand what you are saying about passing folks but did you notice that I said I do both, walk and jog. I still stand behind what my eyes show me and that is that most seem to walk & jog with traffic. I notice this looking down the cross-roads I pass by also.
  13. Wow, thanks for that. I didn't know as I rarely go out that way. It seems like they moved locations possibly and looking at the pics on FB it appears they have new exhibits. Looks like I'll be venturing out there in the next week or so.
  14. Here in CM it was a 3D art museum. Actually kind of fun to go through every now and then. (I enjoyed it as well as my daughter and wife.) http://www.bangkok.com/pattaya/attractions/art-in-paradise.htm
  15. You're quoting me? Where did I mention anything about a mask? NOTE: If it wasn't clear I was trying to understand if folks walked/jogged with traffic or facing it.
  16. I noticed on your map the 'Arts in Paradise'. Is that still open there in Pattaya? I'm disappointed that they closed the one here in CM. I guess I can't blame them because of the COVID and lack of tourists, but the one here closed before COVID.
  17. In Thailand that's probably more dangerous than walking/jogging with traffic.... ????
  18. Yes, many who have never been in Banwangtan have no idea how it differs from many other Thai neighborhoods. I generally do my jogging in the morning and walks in the evening.
  19. I live in a nice large moo-ban (Banwangtan). I walk and jog almost daily (unless it rains). When doing so I always walk or jog facing the oncoming traffic. I have been doing this since I was young and was taught to do so. The reason is, it's best to see oncoming traffic rather than not in order to make a quick dash out of the way for drivers that aren't paying attention and perhaps don't see you. I notice during my excursions that not just the Thais but farangs as well seem to walk/jog with the traffic and IF they hear a vehicle approaching they turn around and watch it go by and they might slightly step aside when doing so. What do you do?
  20. You can say that about any soil in the world if it's not conditioned properly to grow any type of vegetation. I'm guessing your mango trees were planted in your yard around your house. That same yard area that the building contractor and his goonies buried all their excess concrete and construction materials.
  21. Just so you know, when I walked thru the main Immigration area to go upstairs to do my residence cert the area was full too but as I said upstairs nada. Also seeing Immigration busy one day does not mean they are busy every day, Take for instance, the days before and after a holiday, or a Monday and Friday, compared to other days. Folks that have being doing business at Immigration for years know this. Just because a parking lot is full doesn't mean there's a long queue for the restroom. I am retired and have all the time needed, thus the reason I'm not in a hurry. Been here for over 13 years and not once used an agent....... saved a ton of THB and used it all on imported steaks and such...... yummy!!!!
  22. Did my residence cert a week ago and only 1 person in front of me. I had everything ready so I was in/out in less than 10 minutes. (Actually it took longer to walk back-n-forth to my car than it did submitting the application and paperwork.) Cost was 20 THB as I requested the application to be tracked via Thai Post. Appears I saved myself 980 THB. In no hurry to get the cert as I will renew my DL once the cert is received. Question: If you used an agent how did you know that Immigration was a "zoo"?
  23. Just what is this so called 'brown sauce' I see posted? I can't imagine a brown sauce on pizza, just like I can't imagine french dressing as a sauce for a pizza, but I've seen it. Yuck! One of my all time favorite pizzas was from Godfather's in the USA, Taco pizza! I used to eat Dukes pizza but stopped before the COVID situation and have been making my own at home. After various attempts at the base (dough) I've gotten down where it's pretty <deleted> good now.
  24. I was gone to say the same thing, leftover pizza, what kind of nonsense is that?
