  2. I'm planning a visit to Pattaya soon with the TGF, but never stayed in the Jomtien area before.

Can anyone give me any advice or direction to pick out of these 5 hotels. From everything I've gathered on the internet they all seem very similar in price and quality.

    Grand Jomtien Palace

    Jomtien Garden Hotel

    Jomtien Holiday Hotel

    Jomtien Thani Hotel

    Welcome Jomtien Beach Hotel

    or any other suggestions?

Looking to spend about 1000/ night, would prefer a room with balcony and sea view although not necessary.

And nothing too isolated from the main roads. Actually I'd like to be around wherevere the most action would be on Jomtien Beach...where would that be?

How many people in the room,1 or 2 ?

Will you be using any of the facilities, swimming pool etc ?

  3. I once had a ride in a taxi cab in the Big Mango ,and when we were stopped at red lights at a major intersection.

The driver would get out open the bonnet ,tinker with the engine.Hear the other vehicles rev their engines ready for take-off,get back in ,pass me the oily rag and drive off.

5 minutes later, stopped at lights ,reclaim the rag and start the whole performance again...and this happened another twice before I reached my destination.

Needless to say,he never took the buri out of his mouth, nor convey what the problem was ...

I was just glad to get out of the taxi !

  4. I'm looking to fly to UK around 20/12/07 returning around 7/1/08.

We'd be flying as a couple.

I prefer direct but the last time I went I used Etihad and it was probably the best flight I ever had.

    Dear percy2

what made it a good flight ?

  5. After about a year of using Suvarnabhumi (maybe 80 times including arrivals and departures) I honestly and frankly have the following conclusions :

A lot of things have been corrected at Suvarnabhumi since the beginning nightmare days. But I still have to say they haven't fixed enough and in terms of efficiency and my own experiences, Don Muang still beats Suvarnabhumi.

    Dear rogerdee123,

I am also disappointed in Suvarnabhumi, the designers have constructed a cold cathedral with no heart.

I feel that the monotonous shops add to my depression and the distances are unacceptable considering the number of children and elderly passengers using this airport.

I also feel blackmailed into using certain carriers as the onward domestic connections are so infrequent.

I think that unless things improve significantly ,KUL & SIN will increase their hub business as traffic to Phuket & Chiang Mai as their destination look for better connections ,just like me people are fed up with the Suvanabhumi/Don Muang connections.

I feel that had the airport been big enough to contain both international/domestic flights I could have grown use to it.whereas now I try to avoid it !

    Sadly
