  1. Latest thing is strapless,toe-ring less flip flops.

There is an indentation for the soles & heel.

According to UK Sunday Times "Style" magazine, this will provide a perfect all over tan for your feet !

    Whatever next ?

  2. Cultural integration means different things to different people. I've met people from different nationalities but I think it's self-selection, personal choice after weighed benefits. .

Please give me a break! It's you and the same like kind, that the silent majority of the thai is laughing upon! :D

I agree with teacup assimilation makes people more culturally aware.

Look how many farang resent the word "tourist".

I have always believed that Thailand is for Thai people ,that means charming as they are ,that we should act as "European ambassadors" respect the Thai King, religion, culture, food and customs.

Respect does not necessarily mean fawning just awareness that there are differences.

Cultural relativity is only humiliating when you fail to understand your own reflection in the mirror.

  3. I just thought it would be nice to list some of the benefits of the sober life for those with drinking problems who are thinking of quiting. I think we should aim to hit at least 100 benefits.

I will get the ball rolling.

    Here goes.

17.No risk of losing driving licence on drunk-driving ,no guilt.

  4. There is a traditional thing in Mae Fah Luang Garden (the one in Chiang Rai, close to Country Homes) 18th of July.

What I understand it is free entre. Beautiful place and it will be a lot of people there.

  5. Thanks for replying to the post by the old fuddy-duddy. 52 people viewed it without commenting! I guess I was ranting or rambling.

So, questions for the audience: do you find modern air travel to be highly frustrating, time consuming, full of hassles, and expensive? Does the accumulation of delayed flights, cramped quarters, expensive airports, bad connecting times, poor food, etc., add up to making you wish you'd walked?

Yes ,it is now more stressful and there are more underlying hassles.

There is no way that frequent flyer points can make up for the fact, that the passenger seems to be a burden on the average day of a flight steward.

  6. Well, it sounds like they are talking of moving all domestic flights to Don Muang now, rather than just selective flights. The only question then is how much of Thailand's tourism business they will kill as a result of this. I predict a large percent. Goodbye Thailand, hello Malaysia.

I can't see the tourist businesses in Thailand being very happy about this, other than Bangkok or Pattaya based businesses. Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, etc. will suffer huge losses.

Splitting the airports strictly along domestic/international lines simply won't work in Thailand, where a huge percent of the traffic is tourist-based. Other countries can successfully implement separate domestic and international airports because they are not so tourist dependent, but Thailand can't afford to do this.

I agree, this a nightmare for onward domestic connections.

I remember when TAT stated that tourism should be devolved to the provinces to encourage economic growth?

No one wants a preferred connection 3 -4 hours after their inbound flight.

The other problem for provincial airports is that they will not be able to secure new international flights as carriers will have enough logistic problems juggling between DMK and BKK

    This is a mess !
