If you were to go south about a hundred metres or so, past the massage place on the right and then a bar of some description, then you have the restaurant "Le Bistrot", and it is just about opposite the entrance to Patong Bay Hill resort. Before that, over the past couple of years it has been a bar, then a small restaurant/café bar and then a bar with a massage place attached, all of which folded after a short period of time – – along with some poor suspecting farangs and their dreams!
Haven't heard from you in a while, so I hope you are well.
Ah yes. Must be another rentor. Been so many those places in the short road open and close repeat. See try Mexican take out again ... again. Just no foot traffic there. Bad business spot.
As for me. My usual quiet stay at home life. Sold our business/company 2 month ago so no need travel Patong or deal with guests. Happy in Kata but the traffic on Patak Road is hellish. Takes many minutes get out of our side road, same again to turn in.

I heard something today, that his business visa (extension) will be canceled.
Yes, Thai social media talking about being cancelled

Pleased to say I have not even been in Patong for almost 6 weeks. As for the Bistrot, you talking about that place just about all bike rentals. As I recall open about 5 years ago, never had any customers. Lot of dark skinned young 'French' guys hang out there.

PS: I'm curious to see whether he, as a wealthy foreigner, will solve the "problem" here with a brown envelope... I'm afraid so!
Given the wide publicity its way way past the brown envelope time

Another hill, (another curve?), another narrow road, another unfamiliar road, another useless Thai Driver.
Slight down slope, wide main 4 lane road, past the bends. Not sure how he crashed ?

In this particular case, the German woman should have taken a proper taxi not a motorcycle taxi. My guess is she is a cheap Charlie backpacker who would rather save 100 Baht by taking a motorcycle instead of a proper taxi, but this decision cost her some dignity.
Better pay more and be safe than be stingy and regret it.
Plenty cases with taxis where driver goes to a quiet spot and rapes. The woman is contained in the vehicle.

Just search google maps. Patong branch on road going out of Royal Paradise off Rat-u-Tit/Song Roi Pee. One of the 2 high building in Patong.

Yes. I have picked up my docs from a local DHL office.

My wife talk to the owner. He was apologising to all the neighbours. Seems 10 lads staying. Damage 200,000 baht. They paid in cash after all visit ATMs.

Watching that clip, with all the pixelated genital areas, could they be JAPANESE? 🫣🤔🙃
No for sure Thais. And they wore gstrings and tops. Not nude. I have access to the original videos. Clearly the katoeys have had the full chop. Small boob jobs.

Looks like they trashed the place also, wonder where the owner is? Personally I would never had rented it to 5 guys asking for trouble,
Owner (not Thai) has a number of Kata properties for rent. With a 5 bedroom he can only get large groups paying premium day rate. I would guess there is a huge deposit.

Lists on AirBB at 42,000 Baht a DAY at this time of the year. 5 bedroom on 3 floors plus a roof garden. Think it's 6 young lads that rented it for a week.

Time to move the governor on to pastures new, and advise the incoming one of his first task.
We get a new governor about every year. This problem has been there for as long as I remember. 20+ years. Only got worse with hotel/condo development at the north side of Karon.

Firstly , apologies if this has been asked before , did check , but found nothing..
I will be arriving at Phuket International Airport from Kuala Lumpur in April and would like to know if there is a fast track lane through passport control for the over 70's.
I have found , through this site , that they have such a thing at BKK.
Last time I arrived on this flight a few Months ago , I had a wait of over an hour and don't think I could go through that again at my age.
Did a lot of searching for this information , but all I could find were some kind of dodgy looking sites charging a steep fee , for so called priority service.
I am an over 70 and usually at Phuket Airport if you contact the airline rep at the arrival gate then the airport authority should expedite your arrival procedures. Personally i never play the elder card, but often the airline staff will offer when seeing the elderly (me).

Kicking myself in the nuts would be my choice. This sort post and all the other similar style display why previous attempts at 'get-togethers' fail. As an original mod of the very old phuket.com I was asked to arrange a get together of members who were mostly tourist visitor. I found that while folks back then chatty on the forum, but get togethers where stale and with much silence.
A never attended the early annual Thai Visa gatherings in Phuket due to location and driving considerations. First I attended was when a Kata venue was selected so I attended. It was well attended but with little inter mingling. Just a lot of cliques old chums having free drinks. As a newbie I was just happy to go home. I believe that was the last Phuket meeting 2006 I would guess. After that Phuket members could not agree on a location for the next year and that was the end of it.
About then all the other regional gathering just fizzled away.

But how do the cops find out which people are on overstay, surely they don't just stop random folks and check their passports?
Do the check in staff have a hand in this?

I read about all the trashing of Karon/Kata area. I have to say the construction is not all that bad. There is only a limited amount of building land and it is mostly all regulated, much more regulated than Patong. I have done more than my fair share of building pollution in Patong and Kata. But my Soi in Kata is a well balanced and stable community. Developed with no more building possible. No land available. I enjoy the panoramic sea view from my balcony each morning over Kata Bay. I sigh, marvel, and think how lucky we are.

UPDATE: Swiss man’s visa revoked
in Phuket News
Posted
His 'wife' stated in a Thai TV interview that they were not married. My wife listen to it. So I guess he has a business visa. And it not being revoked. His visa is due for renewal on 13 March 2024 and they just wont renew it. We 'visitors' are all here at the pleasure of the Thai Gov
