  1. Go up Huay Khao road and cross canal road, the first u-turn you can make, make a right turn. There is a Mac repair shop there that does very good and reasonable work. He just replaced my iPhone 4 screen for 1800 Baht. He replaced my gf iPad screen for between 3000 and 4000 Baht. The repairs are done in days not weeks.

  2. TAT is getting repetitious with these stories, there's one every few weeks, perhaps give it a rest to gain some sort of credibility. I mean, if only tourists leaving valuables in cabs was a major problem..

Don't be so cynical, just yesterday a one legged taxi driver in Chiang Mai returned an entire portion of Phad Thai to a hungry rider who left their food in the taxi. And didn't even accept a tip of 1 baht offered by the passenger.

  3. But in the US, a "non-white" can become a surgeon in a public hospital. I've heard that he can even become.President of the state...

I'd like to see a "mixed-background" (= western + thai, not chinese + thai!) guy becoming Prime Minister in Thailand...

    OK I'm dreaming

You don't have to dream. The real leader was born in the USA. Maybe not mixed background but born as a citizen of another country.

  4. hardware store, just east of 7-11 close to Ikon. First floor. I'll give it 50/50, but their lighting selection is pretty good. I bought a 1.8 kw LED bulb for my out door light, and redid my light sockets to get rid of that old style socket that is hard to get bulbs for. About 10 thb each.

Not wanting to be pedantic but when you say first floor do you mean the ground floor or the one directly above the ground floor? Thanks

  5. He has moved further up the road. He is still on Huey Kaew road but you have to go past canal road and turn right at the first u-turn. You will see the Mac sign as you enter the soi. His number is 0813467051 and his name is Krit. Its best if calling to find a thai speaker, but if you go there he will understand what you want.

  6. Yes cobra... That's the one. It happened around 6:30am yesterday morning. He had a shitty bowl helmet on apparently. She said he took the corner too fast.

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

I think the only westerners who wear those useless helmets are tourists, many who have little experience with motorbikes.

I am not saying you are wrong , but 6:30 am sounds more like someone going to work. time will tell

  7. ...no one uses GoPro in CM forum? sad.png

There is a shop selling GoPro stuff across from Spicys on the moat. I think it might be Photobug but it might not be. It's a camera shop opposite Spicys and north about 50 meters or so. Can't miss it.

  8. I fly to to the USA every year from CM via Korean air. They allow 2 50 lbs check in luggage free. Plus your carry on. If you pack well that is alot. If you use US post it will cost a fortune. It is very inexpensive to send items from Thailand to US but not the other way around, even thou the same people are handling your packages.

  9. As I don't go to malls often nor drink much but after watching Caddy Shack last night (there's a scene with Chevy Chase doing shots with the hot blonde) it gave me an urge to do the same (maybe a brunette here) so I wonder what are they asking for a bottle of aged?

    About 3300 THB

  10. It is a Phantom 2 made by DJI, with a gopro hero 3+ camera and Zenmouse gimbal. I just installed new software that will give me on screen display of speed, altitude, battery power and some navigational information.

iosd mini is a big upgrade.

did you install the gimbal by yourself? have all the dampeners on there?

Yes I installed the gimbal which comes with the Phantom 2. I also installed the transmitter and yesterday installed iosd mini.
