“Since his exile, Thaksin Shinawatra or Takki Shinegra or whatever he calls himself has become a master of disguise,” said Interpol. According to the agency, since 2007 Thaksin has traveled around the world using no fewer than 14 aliases, including “Tex Sheen” in the US , “Taal Shienweiss” in Israel , “Aksim Szchenewassad” in Egypt , “Toxeus Shinawapoulus” in Greece and “Tocque Zinne J'ene Veauetreu” in France .

Police were still determining whether passport holders Thakslav Shinawatov from Russia , Thaksiano Shinawati from Italy and Dak Shinsson from Finland are also Thaksin aliases.

  4. ok here is an idea. If you cant go totally to Open Source... I love Linux Ubuntu but I cant leave without Photoshop... and correct me if im wrong you cant get Photoshop working on Linux... and please dont mention Gimp.

So have remote fileserver... there are several options to do this. For cheap Charlies there get a website service from some server that offers unlimited space and use that space to upload your work files. For a bit more handy and price use www.getdropbox.com and if the free 2gb is not enough buy the pro version. so if you loose your computer atleast you dont loose your important files and you just go to store buy new one and next day you back in business.

just my 2 cents. I wonder what would the ip cops figure out from my coming set up of legal Snow Leopard OS in Dell computer. would be enough to show them the license or could they figure out that it is actually braking some Apple license agreement.

  5. Im going to be in Koh Kruut near Koh Chang next month and I need to continue from there to Cambodia and just thinking if there would be any boats going to Cambodia... i will need to get to Phong Phen and I would have around 30 hrs time to travel.

Anyone? timetables? from where to where? prices? suggestion... is there better ways... to Trang and with bus?

  6. i don't like to write because almost all of you are stupid

Remember one thing , you go to ATM or Bank to take money and the thai people go to bank to deposit your money, who is clever now ?

Sometimes instead then speak and offend a population is better shut up...

hmm... dont really know what to say to you... but its nice we do agree on the ATM - deposit point.

  7. Dara is a good school with a lot of good foreign teachers.

"- Do they push Christianity?" I'm not sure there is any school in town that pushes Christianity, not even Grace. Many practice it and there might be some classes on Christianity at Grace, but push it? No one pushes it.

First about Dara, as far as I know they have some foreign teachers, whether they have full English programme, Dont know but I doubt. however as far as i know its good Thai school.

Its not expensive either.. please someone correct me if im wrong but its under 20k per semester.

when its coming pushing Christianity I dont know but dont believe if someone says that there are no school pushing it... there are school in CM that teach to our kids that world was created in 7 days, we lived here together with dinosaurs and evolution is wrong!

We did go to see Dara with my daughter as well, but even before checking how she has done in previous schools they told that they are so full that they can only take students whoom have started there from 1st grade.

I dont know all the schools here but if you looking for full English programme I believe the following schools got one:

Varee, Watchirawit, Prem, Nakhon Payap, CMIS (Christian), Grace (Christian), American Pacific, Lanna International School...

(im not sure about the other schools there some of them might be Christian as well... dont know really... and sometimes you need to do the research to find it out that information can be well hidden on the websites as well.

and don't get me wrong... im studying in a Christian University - Payap... and they don't really push it too much unless you take apart of anything outside the class. but i know some of the school i listed above do and I would not put my daughter to such school.

  8. There are plenty of rivals out there. Pretty much all PC manufacturers have a model like that today.

The Dell is available in Thailand, it comes in two models, neither of them have impressive specifications though, and they are heavily overpriced compared to the rivals. The high-end model costs around 49,000 THB and is E7500 Core 2 Duo, 3GB RAM, 500 GB HDD and GeForce 9400 gfx card. Not impressive at that price!

There are Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo, Dell, Apple and others that makes these all-in-ones.

    Apple, well it's Apple.

Acer and Asus have the cheaper and smaller models.

HP has some very big and powerful models, 24" screen and loads of performance, think price is around 69.000 or something for the biggest one.

Lenovo has a more medium scale model, both in price and performance.

    iMac 24"

    2.66 GHz Intel Core2Duo

    4GB, 640 GB HD, Ge-Force 9400 M

    57.900 Baht

    and yes its APPLE :)

  9. Hello there,

10-15 km is a lot in CM... pretty much covers the whole area... best is if you rent a house for 1 year and go around and find the moo bahn you like first. 5 million should also buy you pretty good house already there are plenty of variety for that price.

Moo Bahn with swimming pool and gym here are some. (nice ones i think)

    Canal Road

    Home In Park

    Lanna Pinary Home

    Bahn Nai Fan

    Emperor 1

    Siwali

    Kulaphan Ville 8

There are some new ones coming like Masterpiece.. and some other ones.

If you moving out from Bangkok then you don't want to live on Hang Dong road (mini sukhumvit when it comes to traffic).

Anyway if you like sitting in a traffic lights perhaps: Kulapahan Ville 9 and Manthanaa on HD rd.

Anyway just drive around and find the area first. I moved from BKK to here 3 years ago and love it!

  10. I thought the doc was very entertaining and will look the other parts as well for sure.

I also thought the JJ part was a set-up... other parts looked pretty real, specially that Aussie guy who should have got his ass kicked.

My own experiences of TP's are not good, but from the doc you get pretty good impression of them and their work.... oh well.. worth watching anyway.

  11. Ok im also interested in Sauna... ive been looking for a good non-gay Finnish Sauna here in CM.

So far Ive been in the herbal sauna near Airport Plaza, which is ok but not really what im looking for just as its not the real thing and its too cold.

The sauna at Santitham plaza is as close I got, but it was a bit too hot (107 celsius claimed the meter but surely more than 95c) and when I started to pour water on the rocks all the thais started to complain (they where sitting on the floor anyway)... also when I got the bucket out to get some more water and turned my back they confiscated it from me =( so no real thing here either.

Im looking for a sauna where I can throw the bucket full's of water on the rocks without people complaining (that is the way it supposed to use god dam_n!) and temperature around 80-90 c. The herbs I dont care leave those to vegetarians =)

  12. This is my 3rd place I rent in CM and I think so far I have received very good value for money and also spent a lot of time to find the right places to stay.

1st year - Studio Apartment - Chang Khyen - Chiang Mai Sabai Apartments - nice clean simple room for 2800 baht / month, great area!

2nd year - 3 br one store house in Moo Bahn Phim Bayom on Canal Road about 1.5 km south of CMU - 7.000 baht / month. (nice garden etc... house was ok, no furniture, no a/c, too close to airport)

3rd year - 4 br, 3 store townhouse on Suthep Rd near Nimmanhaemin intersection, 7.500 b/month, furnished with 1 a/c. (might stay for couple more years in this one... who knows)

  13. Ok here is the situation.

We married about 2 years ago, well the wedding was 2 years ago and since we have been living in CM together with her daughter now 12 years old. We have not finished the paper work for marriage yet as it seemed so difficult and there was no hurry with it. We already paid one office to do the work for us, but they did not manage to work out with the Finnish certificate of me being single (it comes in 4 languages and apparently this was a problem even there was Thai translation for it).

We want to send our daughter to 6 months in Finland to leave with my parents. Main idea is for her to learn English as she would attend international school there. Also I strongly believe the Finnish education system for being a bit better than here =)

Ok so this might be very difficult right? Her traveling alone without parents. First of all her father is dead and there is certificate on that. We will get the marriage papers done by some point this year. Then I also want to / have to, adopt her? How this works?

After that would you think it could be possible that they would give a 6 months visa for her? I could drop her there, but would not stay longer than week (its too cold). The plan is to send her there around Sonkran next year. She has her own passport already for what that is worth.

When we first talked about this idea it sounded good, and my parents would love to take her there (their idea in the first place), but now writing this I start to think that it could be a bit difficult to get her out of the country? I do believe that the Finland side should not be a big problem once we are married.. ??

    Thanks for any help/ideas.

  14. interesting... any change to cross the border from Mong La to China or is the border still closed?

btw just came back from Mesai and it was interesting to see cars, motorbikes, vans etc going both ways with Thai, Chinese and I guess Burma plates in them as well... and it seemed so easy... i guess its get more complicated when there is white skin in the car or the car will continue further from Tachilek.

Anyway I would be very interested if anyone have info whether I could drive from Tachilek to Mong La and cross border to China and continue from there on. I'm mainly interested on the Burma side of restrictions the Chinese and side Im more familiar with.
