You might want to try Google Lens app. It uses Google Translate too, but in my experience it seems to do a slightly better job at doing the character recognition part on Thai texts. It is a free app available at the Play Store for download.
Ok. Thanks

Understand you used your pink card info. Where did you register it? Line, Website? Hospital?
Thank you.
Thanks. I just used Line to scan the QR Code in the original news item here on Thai Visa. Very quick and simple. Google translate works well too. Have had follow up messages from them on Line too.

Same here.
It's the back of the Pink ID card for foreigners with letters then numerals as well as the initial 13 number Pink ID number for foreigners. I registered quickly and easily today, for Hua Hin.

The Wind-up Girl, Novel by Paolo Bacigalupi, set in a slightly future Bangkok is wonderful. I love John Burdett but this is clever, funny and Thai at a different level.

I live in a long term resort in Khao Takiab. This morning, I received a text from the resort’s reception:
“We would like to inform you that the metropolitan Electricity Authority is necessary to temporarily cut off the electricity in this area on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 from 9 am to 4 am. We will not have an electricity supply in the building and no water supply during that period
Sorry for the inconvenience
Does anyone know if the power cut is only in the Khao Takiab area or will it apply to the whole of Hua Hin?
If it applies only to my area then I will go into the town centre and spend the day there. If however, other members say that the power cut will be opeating in their area too, then I may as well stay at home as the shops will be shut too (unless they have generators).
Just Nong Kae section so HH downturn should be good (if not raining!)

I'm getting my residency certificate from Hua Hin immigration late on Friday when I get out of quarantine. Can't get down to Pranburi licensing by 4pm. My 2 year license expires Sunday. Will Monday be OK (1 DAY after expiry) to get my 5 year license?

So, a junta based parliament is going to debate whether a junta based senate can appoint a junta based PM ? Smoke and mirrors to me.
Unelected Senate (one half of Parliament) will vote on whether they will keep voting for PM......I have no objection to them choosing or not choosing. It's a matter for debate in Parliament,”

A good evidence-based decision would be to include those of us on retirement extension of stay 1 year visa to return to Thailand, do a 2 week quarantine as with those who have marriage extension of stay.

I suggest you phone them first to double check. There were two other people there when I went last week who were told they had to physically go to their Embassies in Bangkok to get the original letter. Email not allowed, they said.

Interesting. No one's mentioned Coles, one of the few well up on last year, but still just a 2pc return. As a West Australian, I've always loved mining. RRL is still a great gold stock with a nice dividend. KCN Kingsgate was Thailand's great Aussie gold mine. Very quiet since the Thai Govt takeover and legal proceedings. Temptation for Uncle Tu's cronies to start it up again must be intense.

Hua Hin immigration were amazing again. I did my retirement extension last week, 44 days before expiry. (Hua Hin allows up to 45 days early.) This year they want a full 12 months' bank statement. Make sure your bank also sends the cover letter stating funds total. Bangkok Bank in Bangkok only sent the 12 month statement (with 7 days lag time), but luckily I rode back into Bluport Bangkok Bank and they did a cover letter for 100 baht. (I got back to Immigration at 4.20pm and they politely issued my extension and multiple entry within 20 minutes, after official closing time.)

Check on the Govt Health website mate. Under the conditions of self-isolation you are allowed out for medical appointments. Perhaps hospital will also be covered?

Air Asia have not notified us yet but they have a system of credit or refund in place for the main countries, China, Italy etc. But the government is also considering stronger regulations, possibly on Wednesday, so am waiting until then to see what AA do.
Booked to enter Oz on 30th with an scheduled operation 4 days later so will not able to go to the hospital. Probably would have cancelled the trip anyway. Would not liked to be locked up with the family for 2 weeks.

Major problems. It's totally denied access to MYOB accounting software - am assuming it's only with those who loaded original software before 2017. Still not fixed.

Did mine at Hua Hin 3 months ago. Same experience. Excellent. But they did tell me verbally to return on 90 days to "show my passbook" with 800,000 still. So I shall pop in on Monday.

Agreed. I've now emailed Embassy and copied my Opposition Federal MP in Oz. Our best hope is to embarrass the Government in Oz. Even China sent free vaccines to Chinese in China
