  1. Lenny - I don't know Roiet, so I can't help you on your question. I would be fascinated to know though, why you are planning on going there for a month with no idea of the facilities available - did you just stick a pin in a map?

And - Please, please, please tell us all just what is 'angle baking' or 'stay with angle kitchen'. We realise that English is not your first language, and applaud your efforts to use it, but unfortunately those phrases just don't mean anything that we can even guess at

  2. Is the "Danmark" Hamburger stall still on the go.?...Remember leaving the bars at 3-4 in the morning and always a lifesaver..

Been a while since I visited Patti... :o

Not noticed a Danmark stall for years. Can't leave the bars at 3-4 in the morning anymore, Wacky Tacky closed them all at 2

  3. its the British Open the finest tournament in the the world so exciting .

Don't like golf myself, but it's not the British Open, it's The Open. The only one without a country name in it it would appear.

Can't be doing with croutons either - they're just so ... so .. so French!!

  4. ฟาฟสด ฟ่หสำา ฟาหสห ดาหห ทแใแใปฟส ฆฏโด่๋่่ส่ ส่าสา่าสฟ ด่าำรา

And that is meant to mean what?? Looks like "lisdufhoifbpiovbrfi" with Thai language keyboard turned on

On top of that my girlfriend burned her ankle on the exhaust while getting off the bike,

I've done that crudy, once. Then I learned to get off a motorbike on the correct side

Both comments off topic and I apologise in front .....

  5. I did describe what 'aspirated' means, but to break it down further:

What is the difference between the sound of ต and ท, ป and พ, and ก and ค ?

The first in each pair is non-aspirated, the other isn't.

Pronounce them with a vowel after and if you get it right, there is a puff of air after the second letter in each pair, but not after the first.

    ตา ทา

    ปา พา

    กา คา

    That's the difference.

WILD!! Never thought of it like that. Seems I've been pronouncing the letters correctly but not knowing exactly why. There again I've been using English correctly for more years than I care to remember but I still can't explain the difference between an adverb and an adjective. I'm an engineer not a cunning linguist!

As to the OP - I couldn't see any link between the letters. If Meadish came up with the correct answer in 6 minutes he deserves an award.

  6. Thanks for the replies. Sorry I didn't think to check to see if the question had been asked before; I was tired and confused when I got in last night. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've got the difference between โกรธ and โมโห now, I think - although I try very hard not to become either when in LOS. Can't say I've come across ความคับแค้นใจ although it certainly does imply an element of "Not Happy"

  7. This is kind of off topic, but I wish I could improve my Thai handwriting. I've seen a few farangs with awesome Thai handwriting.

I also wish that I had better handwriting. Actually, my writing is more like printing than handwriting. There is a real skill in perfecting Thai handwriting. Perhaps we should post examples of our handwriting for others to view. Might be interesting to see the varying styles.

Agreed this is off topic - perhaps start a new thread on it?

On this question though, do you mean something along the lines of write something, scan it and post a picture? Could be a giggle !! How about a specific sentence to have a go at.

(BTW, my English handwriting makes doctors' look legible!)

  8. Can anyone please tell me the difference in the usage between these two words. Do they imply different levels of angryness? โกรธ and โมโห

    Edit -English typo!!

  9. Could anyone tell me if there are any Vespa/lambretta rentals in Pattaya????

Have done a search on Yahoo but can only find rentals in Hua Hin....

Plenty of mo'bikes to rent in Pattaya - why do you only want Italian ones?

  10. Som tam

I'm lucky - the doctor has forbidden my wife to eat Som Tam any more. The pappaya affects her innards.

Can you give me the name of your doctor please - assuming he's not in Saudi

  11. Buying a beer bar is a good sound buisiness venture in pattaya. The hours are short the rewards financially great. I would highly reccomend it to all :bah:

    I don't normally like these emoticon/smiley things, but I have to have a go here ...... :o:D:D:D:D:bah:

Dazza, the best two words I can give you are - Bad Idea

  12. Could someone please explain exactly where Slim's is on the second road. I've tried looking for it around the SOi 6 area a couple of time but with no luck.

Walk North past soi 6 and keepooking left. Once upon a time there was a 7-Eleven there now Slim nestles there just off second road.

Thanks, I'll have a look after Thailand has given the aussies a lesson or two on how to play football.

Wow - that went so wrong didn't it????

  13. Boredom can prevail, I was drinking 2 bottles of whisky a day at one point in the LOS, glad to be out of that scene to honest...it is however still hard to give up old habits when I return, however lucky enough my family have become more important than booze...one must know that you can drink anywhere in the world, why choose somewhere beautiful with lots of other things to do to get mortal?

Hard but you have to reign the problem in mate or other problems will come from your drinking, believe me I know. The dark underbelly of drink crashes you down quick!

Goodluck with your problem, I just hope it doesnt get worse, cheap booze aint evrything. :o

I believe that Isaangeorge's OP was very much a p1ss-take, if you'll pardon the pun. But 2 bottles of whisky a day???? I think everyone's glad you're "out of that scene".

  14. Not a guitar player myself, but I think Suriya music may be worth checking out. Owner is some well known name in Thai music and they have recording studios and instructors there. East side of Sukhumwit, directly opposite the Thepprasit road junction; big green shop
