  1. I suffer from severe COPD and currently just sitting reading on my iPad I’m breathing heavily. I get good days and not so good ones and have been reading about oxygen concentrators. Anyone have experience of using one and what recommendations might you have.
I read on Lazada that you get machines from around 2000 baht upwards to 50,000 baht and what differences would they have to make such a price difference. Thanks for any helpful advice.

  2. I have had the same problem for many years and basically have learnt to live with it.
it can keep me awake for a long time at nights just laying there constantly swallowing but I do find that if I rinse my mouth with mouthwash a few times a day it does tell to relieve it considerably.

  3. We have been living in a rented house past 12 months while having a new one built which we moved into this weekend. Off to immigration tomorrow to register staying at new house but when copying the blue house book I noticed my wife’s name was not entered, just the house address. When I asked her she replied they cannot enter her name as she is registered in another province where she has 2 houses, land and a rice farm and she has to move her registration to this province which she hasn’t got around to doing yet. She has the chanote plus documentation from the land office here confirming her ownership but will I have a problem with the tm30 if her name not in the book?

  4. It seems that after a great many loyal years with Santander that I might well have to find a new bank for my uk pensions to be paid into as they’re checking up on me to see if I comply with the current banking rules and the decision is still to be made by them. Up to now everything has worked perfectly for both parties so why do they suddenly want to change things, anyway.

I’ve done a search on the forum and found some useful info but was wondering if I can use Wise both as my bank and for transfers as I’ve been with them almost since they started for my transfers to my Bangkok Bank account. So my question is can I simply have my pensions paid into my Wise account and has anyone done so and is it working out well.

  5. Looking for an air conditioner for small bedroom of 130 sq feet. When I look online at btu recommendations they say that 6000 more than adequate but the smallest unit I can buy locally seems to be 9000 which is 50% above recommended which I’m quite happy to have. However the shop I’ve been to says I need 12000 for that size room when I ask why he says Thailand always need more. So suggestions please, what size does anyone suggest.

  6. Defeats the object of internet banking if I have to go to the bank, and get a number and take my place in the queue just to ask them a question of how to do one particular thing in internet banking. Might just as well do I’m while in there and delete my app on my phone. Why not simply offer a sensible suggestion like everybody else who answers the question actually asked.

  7. For very private reasons I want to transfer a large sum of money to my Thai wife’s account by internet banking. Both with Bangkok bank accounts, what is the maximum I can do in one go and would it throw up any red flags.
I’m not interested in hearing from the usual crowd of don’t be so stupid as I have a very good and private reason for doing so.

  8. My wife has decided that my  4 and a bit years old Toyota CH-R hybrid needs its tyres replaced. She insists I get Michelins but the car came with Dunlops and they’ve done very well in my opinion and not even a puncture after 80,000kms on the clock. Michelins on all 4 will cost around 10,000 more than the Dunlops which I’m a bit reluctant to do so anyway done a lot of reviews on the internet and along came another poser.
The originals are 215/60R17 but reviews suggest that I can also use 225/50R18 which means absolutely nothing to me so those that are knowledgeable in these matters - what is the difference and any advantage?

  9. Nothing wrong with my card Pooreye, I’ve had it for decades and used it in many different countries including Thailand in just about every scenario possible with no problems whatsoever except for Apple.

No problem with uk app site but if I want to register with the Thai app site when it gets to register my card it gets rejected and the statement reads card has to be registered in the following countries which all are SE Asia or the USA.
When Siam Icon opened in Bangkok we went into the Apple Store to buy a new iMac, credit card accepted but I asked if they could deliver as my car was parked across the river, the reply was that I would have to order online, I replied that Apple online would not accept my credit card although the store does, he went to check and confirmed I was correct. Ridiculous.
Have since given up, their loss not mine.

  10. Personally I find it ridiculous that we cannot in this day and age just download app from any country. There are on occasions apps on the Thai website that would be useful to me but I cannot access them because I’m tied to the uk website. Yes I know I can change to the Thai one but then it becomes even more ridiculous that I have to have a SE Asian or American registered credit card, cannot use my uk one even for free apps.

  11. On our way home from visiting the wife’s family, been raining on and off and some biggish roadside puddles on the way, we go around a bend on a rural road and there are 2 young boys about 9 or 10 years old standing beside one of these puddles and would you believe they were fishing in it complete with proper rods and equipment. It was probably only a few inches deep at the very most and just a couple of strides across.
There was no lake or other waterway anywhere close by for the possibility of anything coming from that, it was just  a simple roadside puddle.
Anyone else seen anything amusing, stupid or just plainly rediculous ?

  12. I’m no medical expert but I take different inhalers for COPD for the past 5+ years and if I take one that I haven’t used for a while I do sometimes detect and experience for a very short period a feeling of a fast improvement in my breathing. I put it down to my body not used to that medication and after a couple of days I don’t experience it again.
