You dont want to be getting ferals full of disease wont rear the ybs properly if at all , racing pigeons when paired will lay after 8 to 10 days will sit eggs for 17 days then hatch , you are right with the milk pigeons pump milk until the ybs are 8-10 days old then start pumping grain , ybs will leave the nest or be ready for weaning at 24 days old they will eat by themselves . If the parents have two nest bowels the hen will probably of laid the second pair of eggs before the ybs are weaned . As to the pigeons sport in Thailand there are 3 clubs in Bangkok they are 3 routes the south to Phuket the north upto Chaing Rai and the north east to Nong Kai . Each clubs sends around 1000 to 2000 pigeons weekly the longest races with lowest number entered . There are 2 oneloftraces in Bangkok these races have birds entered from many different countrys the the final race from Chiang Mai is for 1.2 million baht 1st prize money the race is online www.thailandoneloftrace.com the other oneloftrace is www.worldthailandpigeon.com total prize money for the final race is over 3 million baht . If anyone wants to know more about entering these races you dont need a loft in Bangkok i can give you all the info you need ....................................................

On a last note the final races are held in December the winners receive the prize money and 50 percent of auction money the top 100 birds are sold at auction there the winners can make a million plus baht if the bird is wanted by Taiwan China or one of the big players in Thailand .

Watching the birds arrive on the day of the final race the presentations at the party after are worth the trip .

  4. Doing the maths there is so little money in rearing pigs , i think a lot of the smaller rearers 10 -20 pigs are getting out of the game . Current prices of 53-55 baht live weight is break even if people are having to buy piglets . Prices next month live weight for Issan expected to be 60 baht but even at 60 still not a lot for the work & effort the rearers put in .

  5. Many people that i knew thst kept cattle over the last five years stopped keeping them . at the moment the cattle market is realy tight , nothing for sale around this area thats not well overpriced , i have seen calfs that would have only made 3000 in the past change hands for 7000-8000 . If you come across any calfs for sale 5 -6 months old at decent price i would be interested in them .

    Thanx

  6. As we dont know what we are talking about feeding,ie poultry, pig, or cattle I can only tell you this Rice bran is similar to oats in crude protein, fat, fiber and energy. It is a palatable feedstuff, which can be included in the grain mixture at a rate of up to 25 percent or fed at a rate of up to 8 pounds (3.6 kg) per cow per day. Most people in Thailand think you can feed it 98% LOL

Andy we use the ram mainly for the cattle we mix it with Betagro Master pellet feed they also get grass and fang with molases . we also use the ram for mixing with fish pellet feed , we mix the ram and fish pellet feed by dampening it and feed it to the fish .

Thanx for the post ram in our rice mill is 10 baht a kilo i am looking to find it cheaper , i have never had a probem with it going off when buy large amount at 1 time .

    Best regards

The bottomline is they are worth what someone is willing to pay for them .

Very hard to sell any run the mill Indo brasil BUT show standard indus fetch good money . If the females have been covered by your own bull then the offspring can be worth very little unless he is top quality and has a pedigree to match . I have seen indu brasil cows sold for 15000 baht and others sold for 1.5 million baht we have 11 indus ourselves IF someone came in with the right offer they would not be here they would be gone . Keeping and breeding Indu brasil cows is for a hobby nothing else and they are hard work to take care of ..............................
