A VPN isn't going to get around any bandwidth cap by your ISP.
The answer to your second point is no, using a VPN in a cofee shop or wherever isn't going to affect your ability to use the VPN (unless the provider has taken specific measures against VPNs - unlikely).

You can buy a licence for Win7 on Amazon for about £30 (1500 THB).

No way this is unmetered.

MKV, MP4 and AVI are containers. They have no bearing on the quality of the video/audio they contain.

It's a security issue, not a race issue.
How can it be a security issue when the OP has been here for ten years, has a work permit and is the MD of (what is presumably) a Thai company? It is the company that is the customer and the company is a Thai juristic person. The nationality of the MD is entirely irrelevant.
The poster who above referred to 'idiocracy' is probably right however. More likely a combination of stupidity and inflexibility than actual racism.

^It's not normal for True. Try and narrow the problem by seeing if a different client e.g. utorrent does the same.

I'll take a trial with another seedbox provider
Try one of Whatbox's Leaseweb slots. They have a good rep.
Better still, dedicated from OVH or Leaseweb.

May I ask, what is a seedbox?
A slot on a datacenter server with a very fast connection used to seed torrents to private trackers.
-
Your problem more likely lies with a combination of Feral's provider, Cogent's, shitty peering and peak time congestion in your area than True doing any throttling of FTP.
Poor FTP speeds with Feral have been a well documented issue the previous few months.
I have used True with seedboxes and dedicated servers for years and have never experienced any throttling of FTP. I get pretty much full speed from my OVH dedi in France to True in BKK. There can be a small drop off at peak times (around 5pm - 10pm), but nothing that significant.
You could try changing ports, but you'll need root on the server for that.

An iPhone can only be unlocked by the carrier
Wrong.
if done improperly, can turn your iPhone into a brick.Extremely unlikely.
-
I believe the hackers at the store have a way to unlock via hardware or a combination of hardware/software, but they have to do a bit of surgery on your phone.
Maybe some kind of Gevey Sim type device? Personally I would just suck it up and go with the factory unlock, that way you don't have to worry about potential damage to your phone, or the thing failing, inevitably at the most inconvenient moment.
There's not really much of a market here for iphone unlocking any more. Most people now buy them from Thai providers and they are obviously factory unlocked out of the box. It's not like back in the day when a lot of the iphone 3s and 3gs were imported from countries where the phone was locked to the provider.

Your phone is jailbroken but locked to your provider. There's no software unlock for your baseband, so forget about MBK. You'll need a 'factory unlock' from your provider or one of the (reputable) 3rd party providers floating around on the internet, e.g. http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/iphone/index.htm

Hi . I am just about to buy a apple macbook pro cost here £2399 then i am flying to Thailand for 3 months . would i be better to buy it in Thailand many thanks Martin
You're definitely going to be better off here. I bought a 15" rMBP from the Apple Store here recently. The same model in the UK store is £600 more!

Use a VPN. That way your country stays static. Good practice to use a VPN on a public network anyway.Edit: Just noticed you're using public computers, not your own device on a public network.
-
You won't have to pay any import tax.
-
Same here in BKK (True ADSL). No problem with a VPN.

This thing is a real pain to shift completey. I had to take it off my old man's computer last year. It took a combination of Malwarebytes, Spybot, Hitman Pro and Adw Cleaner to get rid of all of it.

Why don't you rip to FLAC if quality is your concern? By the way, 320 CBR is a waste of disk space - use the VBR V0 setting in LAME if you want the highest quality MP3.

^Nice one. Thanks again for that.
Pib - apologies for somewhat derailing the thread. I'll start a new one if I need to know anything else about this prospective purchase.
