If Police were really serious about doing their job (will never happen) how much work would be involved to visit hotels and bars in their districts to check for proper licenses ? Almost every time we read about raids or incidents it seems these places are not properly licensed.

If the water is deep (can’t stand with head above water) life jackets should be mandatory. The tour operator should explain how to use mask and snorkel and they should have someone watching those with little or no experience.

Presumably all of the scams we read about here are reported in the Thai media too so I wonder how Thais can continue to be so gullible.
There should be a major effort to round up all of the Nigerians here on overstay and they need to really tighten up the qualifications for a visa even if some profiling is used.

One term I never saw in these horrific stories is “designated driver”. If Thais learned that one person in the group must remain sober so that the others can be safely transported I am sure there will be less deaths.

Can anybody enlighten me?
The strikes had already been made or were underway when Trump announced this action. No doubt this was a difficult decision but the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian dictator against his people (again) could not be ignored. The UK and France also participated. Shame on Russia for continuing to prop up this barbaric regime.

If they raise the speed on the highways they need to raise minimum speeds too I think. I see fully loaded trucks pulling trailers with equal loads. Most of these trucks are not that large and would not be seen pulling full trailers in other countries.

I have Thai friend who had huge credit card debt (over 300,000b) with salary of 28,000. He also has car payments which are high because he had no down payment. Had his family not stepped in to help he would have been dragged into court and there would be judgements against him which could have attached most of his salary as long as he worked. Banks were previously irresponsible giving out too much credit but now there are limitations based on salary. They really need to teach kids how to manage money before they leave school.

A few weeks ago Jinthing suggested Eucalyptus oil and it really works. A few drops in a container, add hot water, put towel over your head and breathe in. I lost my cough of 3 months after 2 days but I should add that I was back in USA when I tried this.

With the ARL the problem is that it is being managed by the SRT. Operation should have been turned over to BTS long ago

I notice that most of the motorbikes used for trash pick up or to sell food do not have license plates. These vehicles should be registered...no registration = no insurance.

They really need to study why there are so many mental health issues in Thailand and why people take such extreme measures to deal with problems before considering the consequences. It seems that all of these people have weapons nearby (guns and knives) to utilize when their short fuses are ignited.

I hope so because too many lame people seem to be in line at these places.
They are in line for 10 minutes then decide when they need to order to look at the menu, point and point, ask a bunch of odd questions.
Maybe I am being impatient.
But, are there that many people coming here who have never been to a McDonald's or Burglar King?
You are so right....all the questions and indecision takes forever sometimes. Then if customer is a woman she has to find the money in her purse (Men usually have money ready). I have used the machines at the McDonalds in Silom quite a few times with my Thai ATM Card and it’s quick /easy.

This might work in some of the larger stores but not the smal ones which get overcrowded easily. I noticed that the company owned stores are better managed than the franchisees. Today a friend told me they were opening a good size shop on the front of United Center in Silom which is desperate for tenants

The tour buses in most of these accidents look like they are made of cardboard as they fold up so easily.

I think the PM should have one for himself, he deserves it.
I think one of the A-340’s was taken by the government for his use so there are only 9 left rotting in Thai airports.

There was allot of space between the pickup truck and the car on the near side. It is possible that with many maneuvers the pickup truck could have squeezed out at an angle. I view this ramming as a form of road rage even though the BMW owner was responsible for causing the problem.

I think you need to have your own renter’s insurance policy which would cover the contents which you own. This type of policy is definitely available in Thailand.

I never put my head under water at any Thai beaches.....look at the huge waste of money to upgrade Dongtan Beach area (except for toilets which remain disgusting). That money could have been used to upgrade waste treatment facility.

Round them up, send them home and stop letting them come here

An aside to your discussion on Thai passports- a Thai friend living in USA (green card) returned to Thailand this month and the machine used for Thais at BKK accepted his Thai passport even though it was expired ! I found this interesting.

Surprised it wasn’t an Orient Thai plane....

I live near Lumpini Park and am able to take off my face mask there because the air seems reasonably clean whereas the surrounding areas have filthy air. There are still a large number of old buses spewing black diesel smoke, tons of motorbikes and far too many vehicles in general.

United Center has many retail and restaurant vacancies and is slowly becoming a ghost town.

I feel sorry for the girls who wear very old fashioned dresses that are very long. Prices would go down if this bulky item was redesigned. Shirts are cheap for both sexes as are shorts for the boys. I also notice girls carrying heavy leather book bags (brief cases) while boys seem to be fine with simple back packs.
