Sad to report that long-time CM resident Stan Whittaker passed away on 13 June.   Many of our lives were graced by Stan's presence.  Just a great guy.....

Post title is incomplete.   It should end with  "which they did not commit."

Nuan Nippon does pretty good here and stays cropped very short.   (It's like a smaller, shorter version of Nuan Noi.)    They say it can't handle sun but I have seen an entire golf course done with it and it looks great.  Likely a matter of getting enough water.    We used Nuan Noi but if doing it again, would go for the Nuan Nippon.

The new format looks like what Microsoft would do.  Bland.  Sterile.  Lacking all appeal.    And what is with all the "Notifications" requests I have to decline.   Argggghhhh. Plain awful.

The guys in the photos look like a bunch of clown boys.  When the coup happened two years ago, there was no doubt who was in charge telling the military what to do, at least north of Chiang Mai.  You can surely expect more of that to come.

The national carriers in the USA are expensive. There are several smaller firms like Consumer Cellular that have plans as low as 19 dollars a month. Consumer Cellular also has one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the industry so they are worth looking into.

More tourist dollars. No problem.

Vets are not expensive in Thailand, and they could get you set up. Open sores like that need aggressive treatment in Thailand so you are right to be worried.

Maybe a Finn or Swede found it and and gave it an airlift heading to SE Asia on vacation.

There have been various Notices To Airman (NOTAMS) regarding the construction going on, with take offs to the north not possible due to closed taxiways, etc. Not sure which ones are in effect right now but the construction might have something to do with the runway in use.

Road rage involving guns is quite common in Thailand so it is fortunate this event did not escalate in that direction. Several years ago we walked out of the old Carrefour store on the super highway in Chiang Mai to hear the pops of pistol fire as two drivers battled it out. Guns are everywhere in this country so it pays to learn how to break the chain of violence.

Living in Thailand, you need to learn how to survive without the services you expect in the West.

Uncertainty is certainly a drawback for foreigners living or thinking about living in Thailand. In the past, there was at least a basic level of stability even with all the prior coups but the current regime has raised the bar on the powers they may evoke. There is also uncertainty on inevitable events and now the banks are making it more difficult to transfer money out of the country. There are a lot of obvious things like the dangers of driving and corruption, but the uncertainty is what caused me to move away.

What banking laws have changed? I don't have any problems transferring money.

Bank of Thailand released new regulations for Thai Nationals that want to transfer money overseas last week. Don't have the news story but things seem to be tightening down.

Did they ever figure out what chemical caused all the deaths in the Chiang Mai hotel several years back? They never provided a number to call there!

A multiple level unfinished hotel stands in the Khon Kaen city it has been like it for several years, I have asked why has it not been finished and the answer I get is that the wrong size steel was used the steel is to small, how can this happen, the engineers should have done inspections a different stages when it was being built and before any concrete was poured.

The government does need to go after the real killers, but pressure will not come from anyone living down in Koh Tao or from the police. Old story here showing some of the early statements that were later highly revised.

Well written article and good to see this travesty stay in the news. It is very unfair that two innocent men are still behind bars while the real perps get away with murder.
