  1. Many establishments accept Amex in LOS. Hotels, restaurants, super markets, tire shops...
  2. It's astonishing how many people commented (with incorrect information) without reading the boards before commenting. I mean, all the facts of the case are clearly available. What is wrong with people?
  3. That's odd. I was there about 3 hours ago and paid with American Express. No ID was requested. I shop there regularly and have never been asked for ID. I do give my telephone number as there is always some discount given for members.
  4. What does it matter if he was disarmed or not? He could have easily purchased 1 or 10 additional weapons thereafter. It's incredibly easy to purchase guns in this country.
  5. "How much costs are with having company so you can buy a house...Per year how much does it cost? " It's illegal to start a company for the purpose of buying real property.
  6. If you live in a moobaan then 500 per month sounds right, but besides garbage collection it usually includes fogging for mosquitos, gardening services in the common areas, security and so forth. It could be a little less and it could be as much as 1,000 or more if there is a pool, etc. But if you live outside of a moobaan then 500 is very high. It should cost around 40 to 150 top for rubbish collection alone.
  7. The "park" has actually been there for some time now, 3 years maybe??. When they moved the tree nursery it became a popular spot to exercise. I used to walk there in the evenings. But recently they have made it look much nicer by doing some landscaping.
  8. Right, they are an auto electric shop but do A/C too. They do great work but we stopped going when they wanted 7,900 Baht for an A/C repair. The owner who is a nice person insisted on using only Honda factory A/C parts. We decided to shop around and went to another very well-known shop in Nong Hoi where they did the same job for 1,700 Baht using parts manufactured in Thailand. We have been going there ever since (13 years).
  9. Amnuay does engine repairs? I haven't been in years. As much as I liked the owners and the quality of the work, the prices were on the high side. But they did auto electric, alarm systems, A/C repairs and stereo sales and installation - things like that. If they repair engines now I would be surprised.
  10. All I know is that someone left me some old Unilever bonds about 40 years ago and the Estate representative tried to get me to sell them rather than re-register them in the Netherlands into my name. They said the value was only a couple thousand Guilder and not worth putting any time into them. But I held firm and even Unilever wasn't sure what to do as the bonds were 30+ years old and never surrendered a decade before when recalled to issue new bonds. It took about 18 months to complete the complex process and I received them finally. I held them until around 2002 when they were recalled and I received more than 40,000 Euros for them! Moral of the story is that [most] blue chip investments tend to appreciate over the long haul.
  11. Forget Lazada (owned by the Chinese now). Stick with Shopee and you will be completely protected.
  12. There is a doctor in Tambon Tasala (around the corner form the Dara Dhevi) that has it, but honestly he will be much more expensive than just getting it on your own from on-line shops.
  13. I don't remember. It was 8 or more years ago.
  14. It depends on the antibiotic. Some antibiotics used just before and just after some surgical procedures are not stocked in pharmacies. I had to take one antibiotic for a few days before and after a procedure that cost 800 Baht per tablet.
  15. Most likely a family member will pay a portion of it. They always bail out relatives from every mess they get into here.
  16. Are you serious? Who cares about decorations and orchids everywhere and a piano? Thais are impressed by those type of things and will pay more for them. I can't believe you would gladly pay more for something as meaningless as that. What's important is the doctor.
  17. You know that the queue for dental work at CMU School of Dentistry is like one year or something like that? For some procedures the queue could even be two years. You could go to the clinic just to the left in the same complex where the Professors practice and get an appointment and get work done immediately? Prices are a little less than outside private clinics.
  18. No, no competition. The company that ran them went broke. When Covid came along, they were all empty and they stopped running. Then the petrol station where the buses fueled up every morning with CNG (PTT on Doi Saket Road), ceased selling CNG. There is only one other station in C.M. that sells CNG and it has no room for buses. So they put the fleet up for sale. I think two million each.
  19. No. They are all for sale. A couple of them have sold already.
  20. I had about 5 in the USA. They required blood tests and chest x-ray every time. Same in most European countries. You didn't have the Versed and Demerol drip when you had a colonoscopy? It is extremely painful when the camera goes around the turns of the colon!
  21. They always do blood tests and chest X-ray to make sure you are up to all the sedatives and pain meds they give you during the procedure. They do that everywhere in the world.
  22. Have you tried the PT Dept. at Rajavej? I found them to be excellent.
  23. So it's prostate. Alfuzosin 10 mg. Works very well and is time released. 3rd generation alpha blocker. Recommended by most urologists.
