  1. He was holding them as he administered his father's estate. They were owned by his father but he is executor of the Estate. He transferred them to a relative already.
  2. That is wrong. You need a visa. New fee is 2,000 THB. They won't accept USD at the moment.
  3. 5. Hairdressing/beauty salon services...... there are a number of foreign hairdressers here operating high-profile businesses, so there must be an exception to this.
  4. We always found this service through ads in the newspaper "Siam Town USA" (on-line now also), which is in L.A. or in the facebook groups related to Thais living in L.A., Chicago and so forth. We haven't needed anything or made any orders since Covid but it's always been a popular service. It takes about a month to get to Bangkok (shared load), and from there, usually relatives will forward the orders all over the Kingdom.
  5. There are dozens and dozens of Thais living in the USA that offer this service very cheap. We've had large boxes of things sent to us for no more than 500-600 Baht. When it arrives in Bangkok, it is forwarded on by the local postal service. No taxes of any kind are involved.
  6. He owned the location on the Mae Ping. His parents owned it before him. He sold it for a substantial sum of money. I vaguely remember, now that you mentioned it, that he did open another place but it was on Chaiyapoom, fairly close to Pratu Taphae. I don't think it lasted more than two months.
  7. I used to know Tuk. To the best of my knowledge Tuk sold the Brasserie something like 10 years ago. It is long gone. Not sure where you were. The Brasserie was where all those new hotels are now in Wat Ket on the Mae Ping.
  8. No you are correct. I tried to get a routine one at Suan Dok years ago and it was not possible. They said there had to be an underlying condition that warranted the procedure. They checked the cost and it was only about 2K Baht less than Sriphat (and they said there was a high chance of an intern doing the procedure). No thanks...
  9. Sriphat moved more than a year ago - maybe two years now. The Sriphat building is still there of course but "Sriphat" is now on Sirimongkalajarn.
  10. That place and its sister store right where the OP has already been, along with the Tiger chain of stores have all gone downhill since Covid. Containers of clothing from Japan weren't getting in so they purchased large amounts from Cambodia and they were basically a bunch of junk that they are all having a difficult time selling. The only places with some decent used clothing these days is a shop in the Nimann area and the Tiger shop on Mahidol, but they are asking really high prices (like 3-5K for decent pants and 5-7K for good quality and/or collectable Hawaiian shirts). There is some O.K. used clothing at Malin Night Market (but definitely not in larger sizes).
  11. I went to him for years. I can no longer recommend him. (P.M. if you need to know). I much prefer Dr. Chalermpong on Moon Muang near Soi 6 I believe (you can find his clinic on google).
  12. I'm there every week and always look around. Yes, every plant I have seen there and asked the grower about has almost 0 THC and almost every plant there is a male! Kamthieng is not the place to buy cannabis plants.
  13. I own 4 of them. My favorites are the two that were custom built for me by Siam Neonline. They will build any configuration you want and ship it to you from Bangkok within about 4 days. I have a 2000 and a 3000 watts. Very well built, https://siamneonline.com/en/Step-Down
  14. Chiang Khong is the closest border that is open. I was there week before last. Only takes about 4.5 hours to drive there. Can border bounce and head back to Thailand in only 60-90 minutes (mostly time spent buying the Laos visa and waiting for the buses to cross the bridge). Nothing to see Huay Xai, Laos, don't bother taking a tour of the town.
  15. I was advised by someone very knowledgeable not to get that 7-day stamp in my passport and to head to the Laos border, stamp out of Thailand before the 31st, get a 45-day tourist visa, come back and plan my next move. I already went to C.M. Immigration upon my return and told them I was able to get a guarantee letter from Citibank regarding the Bahtnet transfers having originated from overseas and they gave a lukewarm response to go back to Laos, get a new Non-O 90-day and come back with the bank papers and they would consider the one year extension again. But the IO said something to the effect that since Citibank is on its way out of Thailand, that the boss in Bangkok would have to approve it. I've already made the decision to go to Savannakhet next month and get a multi-entry Non-O and avoid another disappointment with C.M. Immigration.
  16. Hi, Hoping some locals to Mukdahan may help. I need to travel to the Thai Consulate in Savannakhet next month. As I understand it, visas are picked up the 2nd business day between 14:00-16:00 from the Consulate. Would there be enough time (in the event it took until 16:00 to collect my visa) to get to the border, stamp out, bus to over the bridge, stamp in at Immigration and still catch the 17:30 bus from Mukdahan to Khon Kaen? I assume visa collection is first come, first serve? If I were to queue up by say 13:00 at the Consulate would that assure me of say getting the visa by 15:00 which would give 2 hours? As far as I can tell, there is only one bus per day to Khon Kaen from Mukdahan and it's at 17:30. Does anyone have any information? Thank you in advance.
  17. Yep.... People really need to shop around. Some places charge as much as 400% more than others.
  18. Huh? Atorvistatin 40 mg. 2650 Baht! I pay 400 Baht for two months (40 mg. that I cut in half). You need to shop around!
  19. So the question remains, what do I do next? My extension expires on 31/12/2022. Do I need to go back to Immigration tomorrow or Thursday and get some kind of stamp giving me 7 days? I need to plan my trip to the Laos border so really looking for some help from you very knowledgeable guys and gals. Thanks again.
  20. Thanks Sally, I did read that thread. And I did stop at the offices of one of the most popular visa agencies in C.M. who understood the situation exactly, but said that due to the new boss at C.M. Immi. effective last week, they will not accept the BAHTNET transfers, only my FTT transfers sent from my Transferwise account. They also contacted Citibank Thailand for me (who forwarded all my SSA monthly payments to my Bangkok Bank acct each month). They no longer have a branch or any offices in C.M. The issue would have to be addressed by email and it would take at least a week to get a response and perhaps another week or more to take any action IF they could. The agent said Immi. accepted the BAHTNET transfers in the past but the new boss wants everything guaranteed now which Bangkok Bank won't do.
  21. They said the SSA transfers each month by BAHTNET were not guaranteeable. Last year was not an issue. Accepted.
