This should be good.....

Yes I believe so.

No brainer.
Ban the advertising trucks that clog up the traffic as they drive around in first gear taking up a lane. Not only will traffic flow but the towns and cities will be so much quieter.

I would probably kill myself. I would not want to live if I could not boom.
Seriously? What a sad life you must have.

My Thai wife will drink a glass of wine every few weeks but that is it. Her four sisters have never touched a drop.

It is the Nam Sai Art and Decor bar. https://www.facebook.com/namsaiartanddecor
I've never been there - please let us know your thoughts if you go.

That is good news Bergen, thanks for the heads up.
A friend sent me this story in the Australian mainstream press which made me chuckle in more ways then one.

Thanks for taking the time to do this!
He didn't.
Copied it all from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubon_Ratchathani_Province without any acknowledgement.

Agree with Sabang.
Heaps around the regional centres but not so much out bush.

Regarding the Photo's we use the best possible photo's available to us at the time.
Which includes photos of food from a restaurant located just around the corner from you.

Dtai Oratai has arguably one of the best voices to come from Isaan and a very decent chap by the name of MeMock can attest to her popularity in Na Cha Looai.
That I can, she is huge around those parts. When ever a taxi driver in Bangkok asks me where I am from I tell them Ubon, followed by Baan Dtai Orathai (she 'lives' 200m down the road from me) and suddenly I am their new best friend.
I was last in the village a month ago and it was sad to see her childhood home (Grandma still lives there and she visits often) has been destroyed by termites. She is rebuilding though.

Yes their are Many Bar's & Restaurants in Ubon......
Me Bar Expat & Thai Resturaunt

Out of that list katareya2006, how many do you think have real mash potato on their menu?
-
^
There is plenty of decent mashed potato all over Ubon town.
It just seems that katareya2006 is a little confused..... which is understandable when you forget that you actually own the same restaurant that you are reviewing.
katareya2006 - please come and join the conversation.

This cannot be possible.
As you know Mr Hare,
mewe were informed just recently that there is only one restaurant that serves real mash potato in the entire city of Ubon Rathchathani. As a result said restaurant was awarded with the amazing accolade of being called 'The number 1 restaurant in Ubon'.
How dare you go and try and sully their obviously good name. Next thing you will be telling
meus they don't actually have the best Thai food in the entire country and that they never did actually win 'multiple awards'.Scandalous. Simply scandalous.

Maggi and Eggs. Just like peas and carrots.

go get him me mock !
rob
Thanks Rob but Katareya / Adrien / owner of Me bar doesn't seem to want to play any more though.
Too busy winning 'awards' I guess - or perhaps writing 5 star reviews on FB or TA of his own place.
-
Who does 'the ranking' that has awarded this new location the prestigious number One status???
Katareya2006Adrien BrayThe owner

Not on paper, no you don't
Does not mean bums on seats? So apart from thinking you are in a great location (your no better then most places) and the complete lie that you are the only person in town who knows how to operate a potato masher (still waiting to hear you defend that claim) - can you please enlighten me how you actually arrived at the absurd claim of being the number 1 expat bar in the city not only within a few weeks of opening but even today.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to your answer.
-
One must assume that you are more then likely in there everyday, being the owner and all.
Being ranked number 1 has nothing to do with your location I'm afraid. It also has nothing to do with the type of beers that you sell. It has to do with bums on seats and feedback. Bums on seats you can only guess at - and wildly for that matter. As for feedback, I guess that will have to be left to the online reviews and word of mouth.
As for the mash potato jibe..... that was seriously out of left field. And just for your records, I know of three places that you may consider your competition who do 'real mash' and two others who I am sure would not stoop to the plastic rubbish.
Interesting thread though....

I remember this place within 2 weeks of opening advertising extensively how they were 'The number 1 expat bar in Ubon' and how they had 'The number 1 hamburger in town'.
A little presumptuous I thought.

If anyone is interested in seeing an international school come to Ubon, please consider filling this out.
