go get him me mock !

Thanks Rob but Katareya / Adrien / owner of Me bar doesn't seem to want to play any more though.
Too busy winning 'awards' I guess - or perhaps writing 5 star reviews on FB or TA of his own place.

Who does 'the ranking' that has awarded this new location the prestigious number One status???

Not on paper, no you don't
Does not mean bums on seats? So apart from thinking you are in a great location (your no better then most places) and the complete lie that you are the only person in town who knows how to operate a potato masher (still waiting to hear you defend that claim) - can you please enlighten me how you actually arrived at the absurd claim of being the number 1 expat bar in the city not only within a few weeks of opening but even today.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to your answer.

One must assume that you are more then likely in there everyday, being the owner and all.
Being ranked number 1 has nothing to do with your location I'm afraid. It also has nothing to do with the type of beers that you sell. It has to do with bums on seats and feedback. Bums on seats you can only guess at - and wildly for that matter. As for feedback, I guess that will have to be left to the online reviews and word of mouth.
As for the mash potato jibe..... that was seriously out of left field. And just for your records, I know of three places that you may consider your competition who do 'real mash' and two others who I am sure would not stoop to the plastic rubbish.
Interesting thread though....

I remember this place within 2 weeks of opening advertising extensively how they were 'The number 1 expat bar in Ubon' and how they had 'The number 1 hamburger in town'.
A little presumptuous I thought.

If anyone is interested in seeing an international school come to Ubon, please consider filling this out.

What hotel are you at?
-
No, apparently it was Narinukun International School.
He lived at Chan Mansion on Pasi Charoen Road.

Why do Schools not check previous work history? This scumbag was arrested in Ubon this morning.
"Walbran was hired to work at the school despite the fact that a simple Google search would have shown him to be a convicted paedophile."

Another condo that does not do 2 or 3 bedrooms I am assuming?

Wow! That is good to hear. Last time I saw him he was very single and a little out of control. Can't wait to get down there one day.

Is the Aussie Baker still operating in Don Det?

According to experts here don't expect any meaningful conversation.
I speak and write fluently Thai so don't worry me, but thanks.
Haha the perfect response. Owned.

Great trip report. Has refreshed my memory a little on some things to do on my next trip. Cheers.

Thanks Mr T - I actually might have already found a place, but will keep your number as a back up. Out of interest though, how far around the bay is it from your place?
Speaking of your place - I'm looking forward to having a cold one upstairs looking over that great view with you and John.

Get your passport back prior to paying the bill if you can.
Who in their right mind leaves their passport with any body let alone a hotel?

I have visited PPK (the town) many times and it is my favourite place in Thailand. Every time I return though my family seems to get bigger and bigger and as a result the small hotels that we have previously stayed don't quite do the job anymore.
Are there any places that I may not have heard about before? Basically would love to be as close to the town as possible (preferably by the beach) and if possible would love to have an apartment or bungalow or small house or whatever that has a bit of room and a few bedrooms. I realise that this could be an impossible request but just wanted to put it out there. Perhaps someone has a private place that they rent out per week?
Will be there hopefully in December and would want to stay for anywhere between 4 - 7 days.
Thanks.

I read something yesterday about fake grenades at Big C in Ubon. Possible link perhaps?
-
Plenty of buses leaving although not heaps that late in the afternoon. Another option is one of the bigger hotel mini vans who link up with Bangkok flights to Ubon.

I know of a good place on Sapphasit (west of the main drag) but that would be about 1km from the Uni - I am sure there are other places closer.

Hi Martin, thanks for the update on that place. What a shame after 5 years they still stuff up the chlorine levels. Hope you had a great day in the end.
Great tasting and affordable Thai food in a new and conditioned restaurant in Sisaket
